Free Talk Live, an American radio show on more than 100 stations, sometimes tacks interviews dubbed "The Edgington Post" to the end of its podcast.

Tonight will be one such interview, with me, about Spend Bitcoins.

If given the chance, I would like to say more about bitcoin than just plugging Spend Bitcoins. Free Talk Live already talks quite a bit about bitcoin, thanks largely to Roger Ver advertising different bitcoin sites on Free Talk Live.

If you have any thoughts on what else I should mention during my interview, please comment below.

Glad to hear it! I'm a frequent listener of FTL's podcast (the radio show doesn't air locally.)

I'd recommend an appeal to all the independent merchants listening to start accepting bitcoins. You wouldn't necessarily have to hype BitPay, but of all merchants, the ones who listen to FTL have few excuses now for not accepting them.

I also think repeatedly hearing that no one person, government or company runs Bitcoin really helps dispel some doubts that people have about it; that's probably the last hurdle a lot of folks have, they think someone manages it, and they're afraid that if that entity goes under, or is a scam, or whatever, they could lose their funds. If they know that Bitcoin is distributed, and that they hold onto their own funds ("bitcoins are sent, never withdrawn,") I think it'll go a long way with the FTL audience.

Bitcoin is the ultimate freedom test. It tells you who is giving lip service and who genuinely believes in it.

Honestly, they probably would, especially if they also knew it could be purchased anonymously.

Mention these recent developments:

1) SwitchPoker.com and BC-Casino.com
2) Internet Archive (Wayback Machine)
3) OKPay (massive online payment system - popular in Russia/Europe)

Also, specifically related to Free Talk Live's audience, Ira of BTCinch.com will be speaking at Liberty Forum in New Hampshire.

Also, since being "declared dead" by the press about 1-2 months ago, Bitcoin has appreciated over 50%

Try to avoid any discussion of mining.

Will do. I'll leave it up to others to chop the interview off the end of the podcast and immortalize it on Youtube.

I really pushed for independent merchants to accept bitcoins a couple of times. Didn't get a chance to mention bit-pay, wish I had. Just said for merchants who accept bitcoins to spend them on spend bitcoins. Smiley

Also, didn't get a chance to talk about the decentralized nature of bitcoin much. Sad

Grrrr... REALLY wanted to mention archive.org as the amount they've raised as quickly as they have is really cool. Alas, didn't get a chance to talk about any of this (except I did mention miners -- once Smiley)

This interview didn't go out live. The only way to get it will be by podcast. It will appear on http://freetalklive.com within about 5 hours or so, and I'll put a direct link here if nobody beats me. Smiley
