I don't know though, when I was growing up, our families didn't talk about our financials although I know that we are struggling. But my parents were able to make us all graduate from high school to college and we all have our careers now.

Inflation is a big worry for me. It can be worrisome thinking that you might not have enough money to cover all your expenses. At the start of a new month I will analyze all my expenses and income for the previous month and readjust my budget. Maybe you just did not notice it because a simple saying to you that they won't buy that stuff or toys you want is a sign of financial struggle. Parents don't want their children to know that they are struggling because for sure you'll be thinking about helping them and you might not be able to go to school which your parents didn't want to so they work hard and for sure you understand it deep inside as you pursue to finish your school unlike others who are just wasting  the money of their parents.

That is really a good perspective not stressing ourselves as it doesn't help us just overthinking your problem won't solve it so it is better to work hard to solve it and not overthink ourselves.

Stress is a situation where we cannot control ourselves when something we want cannot be achieved properly.
It grows naturally, not about whether it is needed or not.
It's just a side effect of the work we're doing.

Luckily enough for me I still have a job now and coupled with the income from this forum I am quite optimistic that I can get through this difficult time. Even though it is quite stressful for me to finance my various needs and pay off debts from last Covid, I still believe in my strength and God will help me through this difficult time. The point is to keep believing that we can get through this difficult time because that is the most important thing to stay positive.

Things right now are so overwhelming sincerely. But there are ways to manage this financial stress. Make sure your daily living expense is not above your earning. A scale of preference will help you achieve this. Secondly be very conscious of impulse spending this is one factor that most people cannot help themselves with. Additionally multiple streams of income will definitely ease this stress preferable multiple streams of passive incomes.  Everyone has it tough these days but I'm hoping things  will get better.

You really have a very good way of dealing with financial pressure. If we spend more than our daily income, of course we can't differentiate between our needs and our wants, but if we can differentiate between these two things, we can certainly avoid unnecessary spending. Yes, you are right, by having passive income it will certainly be easier to manage the expenses we need and if there is still salary left we can save it and if we have unexpected needs we can take it from our savings.

One thing that can help in identifying what our needs and wants are is by listing down everything. Sure it might cost some of our time and a bit of an effort but listing them down and actually sitting down to think about them is one way to understand if we should really be spending a good sum of money to get them. There are instances wherein we feel like we need something but after some thinking we'll realize that it was more of a want than a need. Another thing that can help is by giving yourself a few days before deciding on buying something, especially if doesn't fall on your immediate essentials like food and utilities. By giving yourself a few days to think about it, it will help you see just how much value it will bring to you.

Recording various expenses will really help us know where the money we use is and if it has been used for things we don't need, we can improve it in the future so we don't buy anything we don't need. Thinking before buying everything we want to have would certainly be better than regretting it after buying it and not needing it, this is really a very detrimental thing for us. If we cannot overcome unnecessary expenses, we need to learn about them so that we can make good use of the income we have.

If this is easy as it appears on writing, every young man would have loved to practice it. A young man of this generation is already face with numerous problems ranging from self care, parents and of course his relationship. Despite your skills, you must be financially buoyant before you can be able to move into a larger city. Life in the city is more expensive compared to remote areas. Although more opportunities will come your way in the city but the cost of living ranging from rent, feeding, taxes and maintenance make it less fashionable and that's why some people prefer to stay in the remote area where things are cheaper despite the limited opportunities.

Learning skills will help you out of poverty when you master and practice it. However, no one is ready to teach you skills free. You must purchase form and pay for it which requires money. Buying working tools will also cost you some money as well. This economical shenanigans is all over since after the Covid19 and everyone is struggling to survive.

Dealing with financial stress require you to relax your mind and don't allow the pressure to destabilize you. When you worry much about the problem, you won't have time to think for solutions. That was like the dark ages for this era and when we're just about to get out of it. War came and there are still rumors of war from the other countries. Lucky you are and those that still have got a job, lucky we are.

When you live in a country where high inflation is normal, you learn to live with it and find ways that can save your money. Not only is there a very limited supply, but those available are either too expensive, poor, too small, or everything combined. Thus, this is creating a huge feeling of uncertainty, as time is running out and I need to get settled down. Renting outside of town in the nearby villages isn't ideal either, because petrol is way too expensive.

Tje cost of renting is so outrageously high nowadays that having to live in a comfortable apartment you would have to be paying through your nose and that means just one source of income won't be enough with several other demands and responsibilities hanging on ones shoulder.

Now is no more a time to try to like comfortable but to rather live within our level of income so we don't have to fall on loans to be servicing such high living standard. Op since the expensive ones are beyond your wage you just have to settle on small available apartments, you can plan your life from there to be able to afford the expensive apartments in the future. Before I say further I'll agree with you that yes, you're stressing yourself way too much. You can't solve all your problems all at ones, so take one step at a time. I'm not sure if anyone else feels the same, but this uncertainty with the increasing living costs and the ongoing rat race is causing me excessive stress. On top of that, moving out of the country doesn't seem ideal either, because most European cities are also suffering similar conditions, along with an extensive immigrant crisis (see France, Italy, Germany, and the UK). I'd be interested in remote working, but the economics field I've studied at university isn't in high demand for remote working, which often recruits IT workers and generally fields that require hands-on experience. As soon as I'm settled down, I'm considering taking up a data analysis course and finishing my master's degree in order to look for more opportunities abroad.

Perhaps a change in fiscal policy and adjustment of the monetary policy in 4 years will improve the economy, my country for example has not been in the right direction both in the fiscal and monetary policy despite the new government with lots of promises, we need changes in this people. By the time other people are brought to serve the people, all these challenges are going to be something of the past. If Americans today change their government, things are going to be a lot better, maybe bringing back Trump is the right thing to do next time.

I’ve personally just continued to work hard and have actually changed jobs the past couple years a few times in order to work my way up the “corporate ladder” so to speak. Inflation and the economy, ending effected by Covid 19 and inflation has certainly played a role in my life, so this is why I’ve gotten a new job, as well as moved to a place /city that is much more affordable. This is how I’m dealing with everything.

What's unfortunate is that not everyone can do that. You might have had the option to change your job with a better one and also move to a place that is more affordable so that you don't spend a lot of money on rent and bills and stuff, but most people can't move out of their current positions and find new jobs, and they can barely move to a different place just for the affordability unless they find a better job opportunity there so that they can make a move.

I know that every single person is affected by the economic situations of their countries and the most affecting one of them is inflation and fewer employment options, but some people can manage to get better over time if they try while others will have to keep suffering from these things.

You're not alone buddy, same thing is happening all over the world. Here in Africa, poverty is increasing everyday and the cost of things are also increasing. We're suffering more because we don't produce most things we use in my country and the cost of importation has made everything to be expensive. We're a oil producing nation yet we don't refine it but sell it to the westerner and getting back refined fuel that we buy costly. The financial stress happening in my country is the reason you see many of us relocating outside so we can escape the hell we're experiencing in Nigeria. My people are migrating to do minor jobs overseas and that's how they're dealing with their financial stress but I don't buy into the idea of traveling outside to look for greener pastures, I believe the grass can be green where ever you're residing but you just have to water it. The water here can be anything that gives you an advantage to receiving more income like learning a new skill.

Your observations are correct because COVID-19 did reset everything, many companies haven't been able to recover since then and those that have recovered are having to cut cost by firing their staff and increasing the rate of unemployment and also adding to people financial's problem. The way I handle financial stress is to acquire new digital skills so I can work from home as my expenses increase. It's really have a big impact on every economy, however, I would say that I'm one of those who are lucky enough to have a job during that time but it was tough though. I mean we really have to get something during that time as we venture into business because of the situation, like face mask and other essentials.

But compare it to the 2008-2009 financial crisis? I lost my job that time, when everyone was assumed that we will keep our jobs, however, after 2 months, we all get laid off. So very hard and you need to hold on to everything including God to be able to get thru that hardships in the pandemic.

In fact I saw in several local news that many shops are currently out of business due to sluggish sales caused by the weak economy of the community. Even though after Covid-19 passed there was a slight increase in economic problems in our country, the reason for losing jobs during the disaster is the basis for why many people are currently unable to meet their spending needs. People do not have permanent jobs as a source of income at this time and this is the reason why many shops have to close, because there were few buyers this made the expenses for the shop manager increase and ultimately they had to close.

Business will be difficult to develop in current conditions because people do not have a source of income due to the lack of permanent employment. Innovation for this problem must immediately find a special format, otherwise people's lives will become increasingly difficult and the government needs seriousness to find a way to get out of problems like this.
