hey guys as mentioned in the title I'm looking for a $300 loan (any coin works) for 1 month return $380 in exchange for the jewelry linked down below You'll be asking that I have thread shipping the jewelry from germany to lebanon, well its going to cost around $600 to ship them and my brother there will be coming down in december so in the mean time I can provide them as collateral until the loan is paid off. Yes I did ask if Jewelry was a collateral last week, something came up in life and I need to pay for few things personal I'm looking for lenders in Germany only, Shipment will be paid by me I could provide more information if needed. https://imgur.com/a/vmBd7w0 |

The only critique to this offer I have is that the retail value of the jewelry is no longer applicable. Assuming it's authentic, the re-sale value is unlikely to be evaluated as much (if any) more than the value of the precious metal from which it's made. Being that this is designer jewelry, it's safe to assume that new, retail pricing is far and above the value of the precious metals used to make it. That may make your offer less appealing to a potential lender. I would recommend to any potential lender (or escrow agent) to have the jewelry evaluated and appraised, which could add costs and time.
Also, it may behoove you to rephrase your offer to accept lenders from around the world, but you will need to find a trusted escrow agent in Germany. I don't know if it'll make much difference, but it might. I wish you luck with the help you need, but I doubt your offer is going to get much traction.
Maybe your brother can help you with the loan, since he's already in possession of the jewelry and aware of it's authenticity (not that he would need collateral since he's your brother.) Have you asked him?

My brother moved to germany 2 months ago he's new to the country and whole EU, idk how much shipment from germany for example to france or UK would cost, since I called DHL over 15 times here to ask them about a pricing and its been always between 450-600 landed I don't mind if the lender would take his time to verify the authencity and the value of these 2 items, in case he/she doesn't need to continue with the process of it I'll be happy to pay for the shipment back |

I can guarantee you that Google will find you an answer. And if you are in need of cash for any reason a pawnshop would be hundred times easier for everyone then asking a stranger online to send you crypto. Some people see solutions and some people don't want to see solutions for any reason.  |

The sum of the price of the two items with the supposed discount is €568. I doubt that the value when sold will exceed €100. When you buy investment gold, like a bullion, if you buy a 10 gram bar of gold today it will cost you about €596 and if you sell it after 5 minutes they will give you €555 ( source). With jewelry it is much worse, since you are paying for the design and the brand, but when you go to sell it or pawn it you are going to be paid for the gold content by weight, and it is rarely more than 15% of what it cost you. The solution would be to find an individual who will pay you for the jewelry as jewelry and not for the value of the gold it contains to be melted, although you should also offer them a discount on the price in the store, but basing a loan on that has little hope of success. So, you are right. |

Willi could be a great escrow and is located in Germany. OP, why not consider going to a pawn shop with the jewelry ? Your brother could send you the money, it would be cheaper IMO. |

Lending you money in exchange for a collateral is the real function of pawnshop. This actually what you are looking for instead of asking a loan here and spen shipping fee more than the value of your jewelry. Your best chance is to find trusted guy here that you can meet IRL near your location and interested to the jewelry you are offering. Some pawnshops charge an incredible interest rate so make sure to read carefully the terms. |

It still doesn't explain why your "brother" took the jewellery to Germany to then turn around after getting there and try to send them back to you (unless of course he *cough* acquired them after he arrived?) especially now that you don't want to actually sell them. thank you didn't know pawnshop in EU can grant me a loan in exchange of these jewelry because it doesnt work like that here(lebanon)
I explained to you what a pawn shop is *before* you started this thread. I'm guessing you thought you might see if you could convince someone elsewhere in the Forum to take them off of your hands given you're using a throwaway UID. |

Just saw this thread and have to add something. I doubt DHL is that expensive for a small box with insurance. A package from Germany to Japan, with insurance and airmail is around 40-50euro. So a package to France for example is around 15euro, insured up to 500euro.  500,- and more is straight up nonsense. And about pawn shops. Every big city has state licensed pawn shops in Germany. Some have been running for generations. You just go there, they evaluate the value, you get some cash. For chains and so on you only get the value of the material. They also pawn stuff like valuable phones, computers, and so on. All you need is an ID of course, without ID this won't work. |

DHL is very expensive. Sometimes it might appear cheap to send item from Germany to another country (not within EU) but it will be very expensive to send item from other country to Germany. Btw if we keep in mind the shipping costs and loan interests, pawnshop will probably be a better option for him but that was for sure that he wanted to scam someone here. |

In 1975 my dad moved from Palestine to the US with only $35 in his pocket. That was his entire net worth at the time. A package from Germany to Japan, with insurance and airmail is around 40-50euro. So a package to France for example is around 15euro, insured up to 500euro.
None of those countries are surrounded by war or threats of bombing. I was in Jordan last year, and I can tell you that DHL has little presence even in a peaceful Middle Eastern country like Jordan. Earlier this year I wanted to send two used laptops to my aunt and uncle in Jordan, but logistically it was a nightmare to get it done. I ended up waiting until another relative was going back for visit, and sent them with him instead. I'm not trying to defend the OP or support his claims, but this attempt to discount them isn't accurate. |

Yeh it's a scam - OP got told what a Pawn shop is then started another thread in a different section playing ignorant in the hopes of getting a different answer. Jewellery can be returned to its rightful owner if taken to a pawn shop hence the OP is looking for another venue to fence their gear.

Even if OP is legitimate the jewelry is nothing more than costume. Worth maybe $2 a piece wholesale. They advertise as "100% Metal" "Gold-colored" etc. When in reality, it's all brass and cheap metals with a thin gold plating. Sad. A pawnshop wouldn't even offer OP the $15 it would cost to ship.
