I think that everybody needs some thrill in his life and as long as I can afford to gamble I would like to do so. Maybe I am a bit biased because of the first time I ever visited a casino after turning 18. There was an old guy in suit and only white hair, his date however was only 20-25 years old. She was the most beautiful Asian woman I have ever seen in her evening dress. So if I ever turn 65 and are single again and I will celebrate my birthday in casino with a beautiful model. It was so much fun watching that couple bet money on roulette with that huge age difference. In the end everybody has to decide for themselves how long they want to gamble and when they will stop. Just make sure you have something else in mind to do with all your spare time.

I never actually planned that I would be gambling until or after old age. Now I have enough mindset to gamble and I am comfortable to gamble now if I feel comfortable to gamble in future days then I will gamble and if ever I lose interest in gambling then maybe not gambling. Correct. There's nothing wrong about it. It may actually be the last thing that I can enjoy in life, especially for those who love sports and will still use sports betting for the addition of excitement of the game. I am seeing myself still betting on NBA games even at old age, if I am ever lucky to live that long.
The only wrong thing that I could see in doing this is if the money is not from me. I do not agree with you on both of the points you mentioned: First, it is not true that falling prey to addiction requires years of gambling because the symptoms of addiction may appear within a short period, especially if the person is prepared to bear more loss than he already loses. For some people, it does not take more than a few weeks for them to fall into addiction, especially those who surround themselves with gamblers who are involved in addiction and even their social relationships become linked to addicted patients.
