Trezor Safe 3 New Hardware Wallet

Keeping in mind their previous history on Black Friday events, I would not be surprised if these incoming offers ended up being quite underwhelming.

Let's not forget that we had the COVID pandemic, disruptions in normal shipping routes, chip shortage, inflation... All those factors contributed to a globally weak economy where you can't expect massive discounts ad good deals as every company and business went into survival mode.

Last year even Ledger had better offers than them, which is quite disappointing, if we remember how popularity of ledger has decreased because their lastest software and recovery choices for their clients.

Speaking of Ledger, I wonder what they will do to try and regain the trust of their customers, which isn't going to be easy. This isn't the thread to discuss that, but let's see what they come up with.

Now that we know Trezor won't be offering any discount for their new Trezor 3 Safe hardware wallet, we can move on and see what other people who reviewed it think about it.
The CryptoDad recently released detailed unboxing and review video, and I can say that Trezor really improved packaging for Trezor 3 Safe.
New device is still mostly plastic but it uses better materials and it looks more quality than older hardware wallets from Trezor.
If you already used Trezor One you won't have any problem getting used to new Trezor 3 Safe wallet, because it has very similar interface.

They are back in stock BUT only if their website is working   
There are some issues ion their website with cloudflare and/or they use bad hosting service.

I became freak for more quality and more durable materials in everything I use, and if that means better plastic than I will take it.
Recently I had to 3d print some parts in plastic to replace my broken stuff, and this filament is much better than original cheat plastic.
Compared with ledger I still think that even older Trezor devices use better plastic material.

Trezor just released teaser post on twitter saying they are preparing a big reveal coming on October 12, and I am guessing this is their new model with their own secure element!

The Trezor Safe 3 model (https://trezor.io/trezor-safe-3) is worth for 79$ while the trezor model T is worth 219$ (https://trezor.io/trezor-model-t). However you can get it for 153$ on the black Friday discount.

My question is that even though  Trezor Safe 3 model is a new device, the Trezor Model T still remains the highest end device at Trezor and if you can afford it, you should opt for this Model T ?

I received the Safe 3 yesterday, I love how the back plate looks showing you also which number device you received out of the 2013. You also get a little thank you post card from Slush & Stick the founders which was a nice addition. Annoyingly I'm not able to use it just yet as I want to make a multi-sig wallet on Sparrow using it but it doesn't have compatibility on HWI with it being a new device. Does anyone know how long it usually takes for it to be supported? The issue has already been raised on the Github repo.

Hmm... it's funny that Trezor is not listing any third party BTC wallets except Exodus at the moment, and that is the case for all their hardware wallets.
I am not 100% sure but I think there was Electrum wallet listed before, and for Sparrow you need to talk with their developers.

Orange wallet looks cool, and you can still use it as single-sig wallet to see how everything works.
You can easily erase it later and start from scratch.

This can be considered a first real ''discount'' for new Trezor Safe 3 model, and they are back in stock now (multi-coin version).
However, new orders are shipping in 2 weeks, so don't expect speedy delivery.

It seems I am unlucky. I pre-ordered Trezor Safe-3, and they delivered it through UPS. I have checked the tracking number, which has marked delivered but I haven't received anything yet. I raised a ticket on Trezor and UPS but haven't gotten any reply yet for almost 10 days. I intended to leave Ledger and start using Trezor. I am not sure if I can eventually find my device. I am still waiting for their response.

I hope you get your device eventually. But when you get it, I suggest you be careful and check that the device is in its original packaging and that it has not been tampered with. You never know...

I have checked the tracking number, which has marked delivered but I haven't received anything yet.

If you're checking it with the UPS tracker or one of those universal trackers, I'd recommend using only local trackers to get the most accurate status updates ^{[I had similar issues in the past (not with Trezor, other stuff) and this helped me figure things out about my package]}.

I hope you get your device eventually. But when you get it, I suggest you be careful and check that the device is in its original packaging and that it has not been tampered with. You never know...

I have enough faith that they can't scam me. Because when I use a new device, I always reset it to see if everything is working fine. Then I create a new seed phrase to make sure even device-tempered funds aren't at risk. So I am really not worried about it, but I am worried about losing the device. I need the device as soon as possible because I need to move funds from Ledger to Trezor.

I don't understand how UPS can report something to be delivered if it is not, but your issue could be related with holiday season or with your specific location.
There are few people I know who ordered Trezor 3 and they received it fairly quickly, after waiting a bit longer for package to be sent by Trezor.

The new Trezor hardware wallet seems more popular than the company likely expected at first, which could explain why some customers are seeing delays in getting their orders.  Given all the recent issues with Ledger data breaches and stuff, I get why people are looking to switch to Trezor right now.   

I've had a bunch of friends tell me they plan to throw out their Ledger wallets because of the lousy things Ledger's done lately.  Can't say I blame em.  If my private financial info got leaked like that, I'd be shopping around for something more secure too

I think location isn't an issue here. I have been receiving my online orders at this address. I have included my mobile number too, so they might call me as well. UPS support isn't responding at all. I hope to get a refund from Trezor. They sent me a letter today and attached a form to sign about the lost parcel. I have to wait for redundancy. Likely, I will order from another country where my friend is staying. He had ordered before and received it as well. Let's see what happens. I will update here on what's happened eventually.

I have also had packages delivered to friends from Amazon that were left in front of buildings by their unintelligent work force. Unfortunately, it's a mixed bag of experiences with these delivery guys.

I got the full refund. I raised a ticket with Trezor about the missing device. Although they are quite slow, eventually I received my refund. They gave me two options: either a new device they would send or a refund. So I chose the refund, and I ordered through my friend in another country who had received the device previously. So far, I am satisfied with how much Trezor cares about its users. But I boycott UPS due to their worst services. I won't use their service ever.

It's always like that when a company needs to compensate you for damages or issue a refund, then there is a whole procedure going on in the background. But eventually, anyone who cares about their business and/or reputation solves the issues to the customers satisfaction.

What you experienced, wasn't caused by Trezor. It's UPS or whoever was moving the shipment that messed up. What does their tracking say? Does it indicate that the parcel was delivered to your address and signed by you or what? What's the usual procedure in your country? Are packages shipped to the exact addresses or do the delivery guys also deliver to a neighbor or a local business in the neighborhood if they can't get hold of you? Perhaps someone picked it up pretending to be you or the package was stolen from you.
