Is it right idea to update old guides?

I was searching for a article about bitcoin fees to know more about it, But I redirected to final article thread, there all images were non visible/an error was showing.
what if I update these threads by hosting the working images to other website like talkimg or imbb? I will do this in archive board in my free time with same title with little change in title like writing a word :"updated"
Is it a waste of time?, does these updated images will stop working after some times?

share suggestion: is it a right idea? or it is a waste of time? Because many guides are written by old members who are not active, so they can not update them by tryninja's script/

It is not a bad idea most especially if the thread contains useful guides. There are many guide threads that have images that do not show again and some of this images are what makes the guide understandable. So nothing is bad in updating them because it is even advisable to start a dead thread after so many years. But be sure that does old thread do not have outdated guides. Most especially for wallets, since there are updates continuously on this wallets some hides are no longer useful

Or any other good idea to make things easier and non confusing for users? like just search the half title and will show both guides original and image updated.

It's up to you, someone did this and he created a new thread with a same title by posting the original source in the headline Re: [Eng: Tutorial] PGP Signature - Encrypt/Decrypt message - Fingerprint

But I personally choose to post it in the original thread instead of creating a new thread (if the thread isn't locked), in order to not look as spam.

The imgur problem has been discussed in several topics, including my dump of 801,550 images. Considering the amount of lost images, I don't think manually replacing a few topics is going to matter much.
Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there will be any other solution for the missing images either. My guess is that most of it will just disappear into the history of the internet.

But, mostly guide titled threads are read and searched by newbies, how they will know that there is an updated thread in the bottom of the main thread?
And i will post all updated threads in archival board because no one visit there, if no one will look at them how it will looks spam posts? many users try to improve there skills there like designing signatures, writing articles, etc. I want to know when I will upload the updates threads with same title in archival board then they will be seen in the search results with original threads or not?

I don't use the forum search, and I expect search engines to show the older and more active thread first.

It was my personal preference, I'm not going to debate which one is better because both of the choice seems be fine since the moderator didn't delete or lock the new created thread.

Why you need to post it in archival section? but that's depend on your choice.

I am not trying to replace all imgur images, just some valuable guides which may have more visits then any other articles(Will decide more visits by their views count),
and if multiple articles have same title then I will update the images only for article which is best and more informational from all of them them.
(If two posts are the best and cover all the topics of several different posts then I will only update the images for those two).

When i will upload them in every appropriate board then many users will post comment like this:(wow, thanks, you are helpful, etc. but will more non value words and sentences)
they will start commenting on every threads and those threads will keep bumping for 10-15 days.

Now it's plagiarism. You should use quote-tags. Even better, while you're at it, why don't you quote the OP, update the images, and post that in the original topic (with a short explanation saying you've updated the image links)?

But How will users know that The updated thread is in the bottom?
One Way: when we will share some guides or ratimov's encyclopedia to a newbie or other members then we can tell them to check the post in the bottom for updated images.

Ask OP to update it. I didn't realize until now you picked a topic for which OP is still active. I'd leave it up to the topic creator to update his topics.
