I put cryptocurrency in front because it involves both Bitcoin and all the rest of the digital currencies, but I will say that when we talk about Bitcoin, it is much different from other cryptocurrencies based on the kind of influence it has.
Bitcoin is not a thing for a short time, you just have to be patient, hold and keep on accumulating for a long time, but when considering gold or a real estate business (investments) it all depends on how much your capital, but in Bitcoin you can buy the little you can afford, then hold.

I guess it's not only in your country; most African and Asian countries have the same problem. The last party change in my country was over a decade ago, and if I remember correctly, a lot of on-going projects stopped, and a lot of people lost their business, their freedom, and many more. I am not saying that Bitcoin is safe. Bitcoin is safe, but it's virtual and volatile enough. You have to keep it for the long term if you want a good return. You cannot sell it whenever you want if you need urgent money. If you sell, maybe you have to sell at a lose. So, invest in something that is stable, and you can sell anytime. Invest in Bitcoin too. But do not rely on Bitcoin only.

Despite this example, real estate is still a very decent investment alternative to store your money value in a stable way, generate passive income through renting and to make your patrimony more valuable within time. Besides being pretty safe. Even in case the government seizes your property for some reason justifying common good, it's expect they pay you a fair price for that, but you have to be legal with the scripture of your property. They can't simply steal or destroy what is your without any good reason to back their decision.

To replace real estate investment by Bitcoin isn't a good idea, as a smart investor should take advantage of both methods.

There will still be unexpected risks but that will not make real estate lose its appeal. Although we want to promote bitcoin as the best and most superior asset, we cannot hide the fact that real estate is still the safest and best investment channel today. You can't compare a flat or an apartment with Bitcoin, but those who compare real estate with Bitcoin or say it's a safer investment are basically referring to lands. It is true that bitcoin brings us many different benefits as you said such as financial freedom, we can use it anywhere with just a smartphone with an internet connection, storage is quite easy, and it can be carried anywhere...But volatility is the factor we care about the most because I believe there is no one who doesn't like to make a lot of money, and bitcoin meets that better than real estate or gold. But it cannot be denied that real estate is a very good asset and investment. Definitely a sad outcome for those that bought those properties, but this just proves that we need to be incredibly careful with every purchase that we make, especially the big ones, as you do not want your investment to evaporate or be destroyed like it is the case here, however as good as bitcoin can be as an investment and as a store of value, it would be irresponsible to not mention that you can lose your bitcoin just as easily if you are not careful, so it is important to not idealize bitcoin either or you may find yourself in the same situation as those people.

What gives you the clarity that those properties are actually build where they are supposed to be build on? If you are ready to pay me bigger amount of money for lands that illegal to build anything on I could consider taking that money from you, and also people loves illegal things very much, they believe with money anything is possible but they don't know that it's completely foolishness to spend money on something that's not plain and pure.

Do not be too fast to talk trash about your government, if roads are meant to be build on that land then it's illegal, we are currently facing this problem in my street, some crazy people bought land and built houses on it and those spaces are meant for drainage and now we are facing issues when there is rain, there is no space for dirt water to flow by, I am just waiting for the government to come to the rescue and start demolishing those houses.

People are just so greedy, those lands are sold to them for cheap price and they don't consider that they are taking a big risk building the houses where as it's left for main road and water drainage, so I have nothing much to say about the link you drop, I know how people behaves when it comes to properties and building houses.

Any form of investment has it’s own risk associated to it so Real estate is not different thats why there is a saying that investments are not 100% guaranteed of success, we should always expect unforeseen circumstances in any investment we find ourselves.

There is always a reason why buildings are demolished most likely, the government wants to use the land for something else. In addition, property owners receive compensation even if they will lose money on their investment and are warned before any action is taken. Land and buildings cannot be stolen, therefore if you don't buy property in regions that the government is likely to use, there won't be any issues and you won't have to worry about property theft. Investing in real estate is a wise substitute for bitcoin.

Everyone has a different opinion about what makes an investment the best, but in my opinion, bitcoin is the best because it offers opportunities to the less rprivileged and can be started with as little as $10 and grown over time. This is in contrast to real estate, which requires a substantial amount of capital.

In term of comfort and peace i think real estate is better to bitcoin but the freedom bitcoin offers makes it untouchable.

I am sorry to say but this is not a confirmation of anything. Those people whose property were demolished should have seen it coming. I mean did they do their due diligence before purchasing a property that is sitting on the water way and is the cause of perennial flooding. We shouldn't make any poor investment decision about Bitcoin. There are also other great investments out there.

Every investment comes with risks and if your real estate investment goes against the town plan set by the government, you'll lose it. The more reason why doing your own research is of paramount importance.

I do agree that Bitcoin as investment is not better than Real Estate, at least for now, because Bitcoin is extremely volatile and harder to predict compared to Real-Estate investment. But all that being said, Real Estate also has it downside, there are more risk on real estate, more of the time related to the tennant, if the tenant is bad the maintenance fee for the real estate could reduce the profit, not to mention other force majeur risk like fire and natural disaster. While Bitcoin is free of all those kind of risks.
