Even if theymos got ditched in china this forum will still stands, won't get shutdown, and another admin will be placed. So what's the point of arresting the people, when this is a community-built forum i the first place.

Like any country would extradite local citizens to a country just because they are an admin or whatever in a forum that does no harm . Just because one side sees it as illegal it doesn't mean the rest also has to.

If the person actually promotes illegal stuff like fraud or whatever then it's ok, there might be a small chance, but not for this.

Day in and day out people get requests from certain countries to send back people and these get ignored all the time, because they just don't have any real cause.

Seriously? I didn't know that. I don't see any reasons to ban bitcointalk. It's not like it's promoting illegal activities or anything like that. Why the ban, though?
 
Found it. Bitcointalk has been blocked in Russia because of gambling advertisements.
 
One thing I couldn't understand was that they could have just banned gambling sites. Gambling services are only a small part of bitcointalk. But it is not the main purpose of bitcointalk. Bitcointalk aims to educate people about bitcoin. Gambling can be seen as a side service. Banning the whole forum is pointless.

You can't expect the government would think like that, since they have full control, everything that they think wrong it's wrong. Just like they think mixer or tumbler is full of illegal money with a purpose to laundering money, while it's not. They didn't realize if fiat and centralized entity are can be used for money laundering since it's private and no one know except the internals.

China as the state can ask to transfer persons from other countries - USA, India, Russia etc. in criminal cases, it depends from international agreements and local Chinese criminal law.

Other country would just laugh at request of arrest & transfer admin of Bitcointalk.

Each day various countries request persons in other countries to be arrested and transfered. It depends from various agreements and laws. There is no place for laugh - ask any lawyer.

Bitcoin is prohibited in China, ok it's fine for other nations that are not China and not under Chinese government regulation.

There are many nations globally and not many of them have extradition agreement with Chinese government. Without an extradition agreement, a national government will not arrest a person and extradite him to China.

China banned Bitcoin mining and caused a Great Hash rate migration to other nations like Iran, USA, Canada but do you read any news or report that Chinese people were arrested because of Bitcoin?

Back in the old days, there was an anonymous marketplace: Silk Road where you can freely to sell any illegal stuffs e.g. drug, weapon, human etc. Silk Road's founder aka Ross Ulbricht was been arrested because the police can find his real identity through this forum. That was really serious, but the Admin wasn't arrested.

I would say that he is doing very well, but if he continues like this, I believe that there is still room for him to surpass himself. The only question is whether the OP is a troll, or if he really has serious problems with understanding the world around him.

The Chinese government can't arrest anyone here because the forum is under US jurisdiction. But it can try to restrict access to its citizens, as the Russian government has done by restricting its citizens' access to the forum.

Is there a Criminal offense charge on the admin of the local board of China and if they already traced the identity of the admin, if there is none and you cannot provide us with proof then you're just speculating, you cannot talk about extradition based on speculation.

We have a lot of Chinese in our country and some of them are investors and promoters of Cryptocurrency and they are free to go back to China without any issue at all, we have POGOs here run by Chinese and they accept Cryptocurrency, so what's really the issue here.

But is it possible? I don't know if theymos or any other admin's real information is exposed anywhere inside or outside the forum. Back in the day, Bitcoin and Silkroad, everything was very new. Maybe nobody thought exposing their identity could be that serious! Who would have thought Ross would get a sentence that is unimaginable? But nowadays, everyone is pretty concerned about their identity and privacy. I'm sure administrators have hidden their real and virtual identities very well. How can China or the USA arrest you if they don't know who theymos is? It doesn't make sense. Or maybe I am wrong. I don't know how admins and moderators maintain their identities. But I know one thing they are not fool enough to exposing their own identity. They knows very well the risk involved.

And do Chinese people only live in Chinese jurisdictions all their lives and are only Chinese people able to speak Chinese?
Local board classification is linguistically based, not nationality or jurisdictional.

The local board of Chinese has nothing do with the people of China as anyone who knows Chinese language can take part in that local board. The Chinese authorities won't be able to take any actions against the people who aren't living in China because there are so many people in the world who speak Chinese language and they aren't living in China.

The Bitcointalk forum has nothing that's against Chinese government and I don't think that China will ever take any actions against the admins whatsoever. I don't know why people try to spread fake rumors that has no evidence at all. The forum admin has nothing to do with China and Chinese people or Chinese government and there won't be any action against him/them from Chinese government or anyone else at all.

The Chinese local board is for those people who speak Chinese language and that's all. It has nothing to do with the people of China or Government of China, and I'm more than sure that Chinese authorities don't really care about the Bitcointalk Chinese local board and I believe that OP created this thread in order to get some attention.

China can say that Bitcointalk China subforums, which promote Bitcoin are not legal in their country and therefore have wide impact on China in unlegal way, which can be the crime according to Chinese criminal law.
China as the state can ask to transfer persons from other countries in criminal cases, it depends from international agreements and local Chinese criminal law. USA for example, do not have direct extradition agreement with China, but can extradite case by case.
In some cases based on residence country law, persons are not transfered, but that's exception. Each year there are hundreds of such cases between countries in the world.

having a Chinese local board on a forum does not mean the forum promotes Bitcoin to the Chinese people. they can claim that the forum "promotes" Bitcoin to the Chinese people all they want but that doesn't mean it is true nor does the country where the forum is based would go along with what China wants.

With the time I've been on the forum I've noticed that the moderators, I guess following orders from theymos, are quite respectful with criticism, even if it's a criticism as poor as this one. What is clear is that the OP's argument has a false basis. China is not even going to bother to send a subpoena to arrest theymos, if anything it will try to control access for its citizens, as has been said. The fact that there is a Chinese sub-forum means nothing, as it can be frequented by millions of Chinese living in other countries where bitcoin is legal and access to bitcointalk is legal.

Or is the Chinese government going to arrest and extradite the leaders of the other countries where Chinese citizens live, and where bitcoin and access to bitcointalk are legal? It does not make sense.
