Yes, obviously, I think it's human nature though. But looking back I should have at least invest that money or just save it for future used. Because we don't know what the future lies ahead, maybe down the line there is some emergency within your family and you could have used that extra money to help.

Also, that flow of money might not go forever, unless you really build generational well for you and your family.

So it's better to weigh-in first, what do you want to buy, it is a question of need or just want?

No because I follow an income and expenditure budget. If I earn more I spend more but I have foreseen it in the budget beforehand, just as I save and invest more.    When I was younger I usually spent my money on unnecessary things. It was normal to follow new trends and upgrades in technology. It is common then to change my entire clothing because I think they are outdated or not in vogue. My friends always compete on who will get the latest phone or other accessories, so you have to work hard for sometimes months just to get a device that you don't need. I was easily influenced by friends and lived a life to impress others.
   But my experience over the years has made me more prudent in my expenditure. Now one has to take care of a family and plan for the future. I don't spend money on luxury or irrelevant things anymore because I have to follow my budget strictly. I rather spend more on education and other investments than waste them on clothing or phones like I used to do in the past. Investing in the future of my dependents is more important than pleasure. If spend money the way I did before, I will have to borrow to survive.

I didn't do it. Because I have already made a budget for everything I plan. But it's different with my partner who sometimes still buys beyond what has been budgeted. But it turns out he had prepared special money for unexpected things and for fun. So I don't mind it because it doesn't disturb our financial balance.

Sometimes I have to sit back and think about this also because I always find it difficult to save money, and the stream of spending the money is opening almost every day, probably because of my level of earning.
I do find it difficult to invest because once I invest in something else, the return has not always been favourable. Only the Bitcoin investment I make through DCA is there for me; others just look like I am growing money to spend another day.
 
I was then told that I have to start overlooking some expenses that are not compulsory in order to save some money. I will start doing that by being stingy with myself and some people. I do give money for no reason to see if that can work.

Im guilty with this on the time on which i have gained my first million in local currency value on which it did really make myself that impulsive on buying things without having those simple financial management yet i do have in mind that i could really still be able to earn it again on crypto space but i was wrong on the time that bear market hits. We do know that its not really that holiday on everyday on which you could make money and this is why its really that something ideal that you should really be saving up something for the winter days. It did really make a huge hit on the time that i havent already making decent income or something earns that on crypto space which i had realized that i had wasted too much money and really missing out lots of opportunities for me to make a business or investment on which it would really be making me survive somehow.

Just like on what said above that it is really that normal for a human being on having those kind of approach or feeling on the time that you do have tons of money then it would really be just that normal that you would really be spending like a mad man or there's no tomorrow. If what you call unnecessary things are what will be needed in the future, yes I do that alot even till this present time because that is not wasteful as it will be needed someday and taking cognizance of the fact there is high level of inflation in most economy, so definitely the monitory value of a product today will not be the same at the future time when you will need it. In that light, when you are talking about such spending as unnecessary, well from what I have explained, I don't consider it wasteful or unnecessary. In fact that is a more prudent way to plan if you can do that. No, I don't go after frivolities irrespective of the money I have. The things that I have seen and the lessons I have learnt over the years has made me to be wiser, better and more prudent with my financial dealings. It depends. If I were younger, early 20's, the chances of having unnecessary purchases would be high. Well somehow my parents have kept me in the strict nature of not doing those things. Since childhood things have been very different for my family. Considering my parents were not that blessed with the monetary levels they ultimately taught us to live life with what we have got and if on bright day if there is somehow more money in their accounts then would tell us that they are saving it for our future. For example, marriages, further education and what not. This gave us learning to save money for the emergencies even if you have got more than enough. One thing was clear in this story, the situational awareness is very important. I am not sure how it works in the western cultures but here we are joint families, there is no nuclear thing here. You have to keep money in the emergency funds. You can't just pack your bags and fly to your dream vacation just like that. It's both good and bad at the same time. Its just about how we look at it.

Personally, I don't really see buying unnecessary things as a problem, as long as you have enough money for it, then go for it.
Sometimes, it's refreshing to spend our money for things that we want, may it be for our entertainment and or luxury. There's nothing wrong to treat ourselves from time to time because we also deserve something as a reward for our hard work. Just make sure that it does not compromise your budget for your necessities and that you still recognize the things that needs to be prioritized. It is as simple as this, if you think that you have an extra money then there is nothing wrong about spending things that you want. It only become a problem if you don't have enough money and you still continue to practice impulse buying and you were not able to sort out essential things from the things that you really don't need.

It's normal thing to feel that way but only when the amount exceeded more than your problems. You can't buy the things you want and sway the things you need, that's waste of money and lack of self descipline with money management, that's what I feel though, don't take it personal.

Since you are not looking got solution, personally I don't buy things that are of not use for me in that point in time. If I do, then it's not for me, perhaps I bought it for another person. With my little experience, what I observe is that, if there is plenty of money, there will also be a lot of things that the money will be spent on, but the most important thing there is that we should not spend unnecessarily, because the unnecessary things don't matter at all. One should try to do the needful and if there is still more money, then saving it would be a very good idea or add it to Bitcoin.

We humans seem to never be satisfied with our wants. I will have a phone that can enable me to do whatever I want to do in life and don't have any problem with it, but still, I will still have my eyes on a higher one that appears to be a view version and all of that, and if it happens that I have the money available, I will go and purchase that new phone. This happens a lot, and it's nothing new, which is just a means of spending unnecessary.
 
Personally, I find myself wasting a lot of money on things that ordinarily I should not have considered doing, but most times I don't also see it as a waste of money, provided that I can afford to foot those bills. If you are someone who has a difficult type of saving other than crypto have you ever saved bank type or left it with your own relatives or people you can trust? it's hard to save money in the type of money not everyone can do it but if it's to spend money I think everyone can do it haha. but saving or investing in crypto is not bad but it depends on the person, the benefits in crypto in my opinion will be obtained by people who only have discipline and a good plan from the start because it is about the long term. it's not easy to wait or invest for a long time and not everyone can do it.

I think money has a spirit. When you have money that you are not using, you will end up spending it unnecessarily and buying things that are not necessary. But once the money is in, it’s better to get an investment or a business running with the money. There are some people that are so disciplined that if they have the mindset of not spending the amount entering, then they are not going to touch it, but they are just a few people. When you have money, you will notice that problems will keep arising.

With all profane credence to what you have said, I think food and buying food is such a necessary essential especially when you have taken it into your system and it will nourish you except you bought it and emptied it to the waste always but if you want to treat yourself to a sumptuous meal, that should be very fine. Sometimes people decide to eat outside with their families too so nothing is wrong with that IMO and buying personal belongings like you mentioned, clothes etc. But if you are frivolous to what you use your money on then it should be unnecessary.

on the other hand some people prefer owning things to money by default as fiat money is in infinite supply and on a path to getting continuously devalued against all commodities...

This may have the opposite effect. Maybe that’s why you shouldn’t be overly thrifty and spend money while there are actual needs for purchases.

Probably no flow of money will last forever. Therefore, it is better to create alternative, backup flows in advance so that you can switch to this.

I perfectly remember my insane state when I saved up a lot of money for bounty here on the forum, and also to check a number of successful investments, it gave the effect of compound interest - a very good profit. I went into the store and took everything I like. And only when cryptocurrencies stopped growing, and when the era of ICO passed, I found out the prices for a lot of things I bought in the store without thinking. My spending has become much more reasonable, and I have installed an application where I record all my purchases.  

I would like to give advice to everyone who goes bitcoin - guys, sometimes withdraw cash, don't save up all the time. Because if the cryptocurrency winter comes, you will be left with pennies of profit.

It's just life man, life sometimes doesn't let you end up with money at all and you end up with trouble, there isn't much we can do about it and just have to agree that it's not going to happen in any other case, it's just how it works. I believe that we need to realize that we are not going to end up with anything that is decent or anything that is scary, we just have to end up with something that would be as much as we can do so that would live decently.

I personally prefer that we could end up with a situation that would be as decent as it gets and that's how the situation goes on. I get that sometimes we can fail, but all we can do is keep trying and just move on with life, just try and keep trying that's more than enough.

Many people continue to repeat the mistakes they made. And he finds himself in a dead end. What separates you from those people is that you know what your mistake is. You are aware of the situation you are in. You can solve a problem that you are aware of. If you weren't aware of it, I can say that the real problem existed then.

It's just life man, life sometimes doesn't let you end up with money at all and you end up with trouble, there isn't much we can do about it and just have to agree that it's not going to happen in any other case, it's just how it works. I believe that we need to realize that we are not going to end up with anything that is decent or anything that is scary, we just have to end up with something that would be as much as we can do so that would live decently.

I personally prefer that we could end up with a situation that would be as decent as it gets and that's how the situation goes on. I get that sometimes we can fail, but all we can do is keep trying and just move on with life, just try and keep trying that's more than enough.

All matters on how you would really be able to sustain it because this had been that typical issue on the time that you are living on a decent life on which you could really be able to buy on things that you do like or simply that being too lavish then most people do really end up on getting wrecked because of too much spending and their income cant really be able to support that kind of lifestyle. Yes,we do only live once and we do make outmost of it but there are really some dumb ideas and actions on which it isnt really that something worth to follow on, specially on this kind of perceptions in life that you should live life to the fullest and trying out to experience a life which you can buy on everything. Its true that we cant really be able to know on how long we do live on this world and specially if you do have your own family then budgeting would really be that necessary or something that should really be in default.

We know that there's no such thing about unlimited fund and if you do keep on spending on something useless impulsively and time comes that you dont have enough money anymore
on supporting your impulsive buying or spending then this is where or when the time you would really be regretting in all the actions that you had made out earlier.
Regrets do always come at the end and dont make yourself that come into such point that you would really be struggling on living.

Basically there is nothing like unnecessary purchases for me because for every dime I spend, it has already been predetermined and most times, I spend almost all of my money on health and that's why I also barely have to change cloths or make any unnecessary purchase and I don't even drink or smoke and due to my health, I also see those stuffs are unnecessary hence I don't spend on them and currently I'm the bread winner of my family and ought to be responsible  with every money in my possession.

So I basically barely find myself in situations of making unnecessary purchases.

Yes. I experienced this when I was earning so much money too, I found that there's no limit to how much I spend but when the budget caught up I was faced with a harsh truth. I think learning about budgeting allowed me to actually leave the month with a surplus rather than ending the month with no money until the next paycheck comes. Once I started budgeting and tempering myself with discipline I started seeing differences in how I much I can earn and save, I'm a frugal person at heart and the country that I live in is not that expensive by the dollar, so I was able to save a lot of money after getting that massive reality check in the face.

Most of the purchase I did, was thorough the planning so I can actually afford it instead of just randomly buying stuff without any plan first. As the time goes, that kind of mindset is always bugging me because maybe you would need that money in the future even though "it's flowing", I guess it's just a human nature and you won't get fed up with everything you buy, you just want more and more the only way to stop that "unnecessary" purchase is by yourself and you need to stop that once you experince it.

If you know a person that spends money unnecessarily then you should talk to him. Money this days are hard to get and to spend them unnecessarily because you have plenty is unwise. You can introduce the person to Bitcoin, teach him and tell him to start investing in Bitcoin gradually. I do this time to time. But not frequently. I have been facing this problem to save money. I don't know why but I'm on able to save money when I have decided it multiple times. It would really be called our nature as humans if indeed all the factors we have support such as for example what you mentioned with increasing finances then surely our purchasing power and desires will also be higher. Like recently when I bought a Cute Bluetooth speaker as I only come across in a market ,yet I still have my JBL speaker meaning this is just an excess buying.

To comment on my own behalf, it actually doesn't make any sense whether I have a lot of money or not for unnecessary expenses. To give an example of how I spend my salary, I usually think that since I have just received my salary in the first days of the month, I have money after all and I start spending like crazy. Of course, after a certain point I have a limited amount of money left because I spend most of my salary and then I start spending it thinking that I can at least buy or do this because I don't have much money left anyway. So when it comes to unnecessary expenses and me I see that I consume meaninglessly 😃

In summary, while I spend recklessly since I just received my salary at the beginning of the month, I continue to spend my money which decreases in the middle and towards the end of the month thinking that there isn't much left anyway.
