I find myself doing unnecessary purchases even when money is not flowing in haha. I have manageable debt, I would never get in financial trouble but at the same time, I am not great at saving (aside from the crypto I already have). I like to have a good time & often that includes spending a lot.

Instead of using money on unnecessary purchases it is better to save it in the form of Bitcoin investments or buy something that can store value. It is human nature to quickly get bored with something that is considered used goods because there are already new products. Those who feel they have enough money will immediately buy a new product just for the sake of prestige. In fact, if you can manage your finances well, you can save even more if you don't use money on unnecessary purchases.

It depends. If I were younger, early 20's, the chances of having unnecessary purchases would be high. I might see myself purchasing an item that depreciates its value, having liabilities instead of investing in assets. But at my current age, I already know the importance of having an investment. Even if there's money flowing in, I would avoid big purchases that I do not need. I'd rather secure the money I can earn until I retire and enjoy my old age. So even without working or asking my dependents for money, Providing myself with money for vacation or for my needs, I won't see any problem.

Well somehow my parents have kept me in the strict nature of not doing those things. Since childhood things have been very different for my family. Considering my parents were not that blessed with the monetary levels they ultimately taught us to live life with what we have got and if on bright day if there is somehow more money in their accounts then would tell us that they are saving it for our future. For example, marriages, further education and what not. This gave us learning to save money for the emergencies even if you have got more than enough. One thing was clear in this story, the situational awareness is very important. I am not sure how it works in the western cultures but here we are joint families, there is no nuclear thing here. You have to keep money in the emergency funds. You can't just pack your bags and fly to your dream vacation just like that. It's both good and bad at the same time. Its just about how we look at it.

That is what must be done, but controlling oneself from desires is a difficult thing.
Everyone certainly wants to be able to manage their finances well in order to save or invest for a better future, but sometimes in certain situations we will be tempted by the things we want even though they are not that important.
I think this is normal for humans, it is indeed difficult to control, but gradually we become more aware and in terms of things, this can be minimized by fulfilling important needs first. I also used to lose control of myself so much that I spent on things. which is actually not important, neither is it now but I have slowly changed it to not as much as before.

I wouldn't say they're unnecessary since it's still something I could use. It's just not up there with the top 3 or 5 most important things to purchase at a certain time. If I have more leeway or allowance then I tend to buy these things that I've put in the back seat without emptying my savings.

Personally, I don't really see buying unnecessary things as a problem, as long as you have enough money for it, then go for it.
Sometimes, it's refreshing to spend our money for things that we want, may it be for our entertainment and or luxury. There's nothing wrong to treat ourselves from time to time because we also deserve something as a reward for our hard work. Just make sure that it does not compromise your budget for your necessities and that you still recognize the things that needs to be prioritized. It is as simple as this, if you think that you have an extra money then there is nothing wrong about spending things that you want. It only become a problem if you don't have enough money and you still continue to practice impulse buying and you were not able to sort out essential things from the things that you really don't need.

What happen to scale of preference where you list your needs out?
It's normal thing to feel that way but only when the amount exceeded more than your problems. You can't buy the things you want and sway the things you need, that's waste of money and lack of self descipline with money management, that's what I feel though, don't take it personal.

Since you are not looking got solution, personally I don't buy things that are of not use for me in that point in time. If I do, then it's not for me, perhaps I bought it for another person. Anytime you see plenty of money and you want to buy the things you don't need, think about the days you had nothing and you have to struggle to make a living, just maybe that will clear the thought of buying unnecessary items.

With my little experience, what I observe is that, if there is plenty of money, there will also be a lot of things that the money will be spent on, but the most important thing there is that we should not spend unnecessarily, because the unnecessary things don't matter at all. One should try to do the needful and if there is still more money, then saving it would be a very good idea or add it to Bitcoin.

I have once been in such a case where I had a lot of money and I didn't know what to use it for, so after spending the whole money, (carelessly), I realized that money is not meant to be used carelessly. Some people allow money to control them, but we shouldn't allow such to happen to us. I believe that if I can control a lot of money, unimaginable, then there is nothing I can not control.

I do this time to time. But not frequently. I have been facing this problem to save money. I don't know why but I'm on able to save money when I have decided it multiple times. I have acted on it and did save some and the past. But after sometimes when there's something new on the market that I have wanted for a long time, I will spend that money regardless. I have thought about investment, but as I said I am able to keep money in my hands. So in the end I'm just left with nothing. And I have suffered a lot.
I'm searching for a solution. Sorry to say it here. But I'm looking for solutions to. I am open to any kind of suggestions. Feel free to give me any kind of advice.

We humans seem to never be satisfied with our wants. I will have a phone that can enable me to do whatever I want to do in life and don't have any problem with it, but still, I will still have my eyes on a higher one that appears to be a view version and all of that, and if it happens that I have the money available, I will go and purchase that new phone. This happens a lot, and it's nothing new, which is just a means of spending unnecessary.
 
Personally, I find myself wasting a lot of money on things that ordinarily I should not have considered doing, but most times I don't also see it as a waste of money, provided that I can afford to foot those bills. All one wants is comfort and pleasure, and some of those spendings are a result of trying to fulfil that desire.

If you are someone who has a difficult type of saving other than crypto have you ever saved bank type or left it with your own relatives or people you can trust? it's hard to save money in the type of money not everyone can do it but if it's to spend money I think everyone can do it haha. but saving or investing in crypto is not bad but it depends on the person, the benefits in crypto in my opinion will be obtained by people who only have discipline and a good plan from the start because it is about the long term. it's not easy to wait or invest for a long time and not everyone can do it.

If you are a person who likes to have fun by spending a lot of money, of course you have enough income or income even more than enough, indeed people's pleasure points are different like you who like to have fun and spend a lot of money, this is not a problem for me, but I suggest saving apart from crypto, try saving in the type of money stored in the bank because saving like this can help you if you are in a position of urgent difficulty so you can take it unlike crypto which seems to be difficult to take when you need it in a state of urgency even if you take it for a long time.

We cannot judge that it's something we cannot use later because we are buying them because we have money with us and not because we needed to buy them at that particular time, under budget, we have wants and needs, if there's anything we are buying and we don't need them at the moment, its as if we are wasting time and money on them, a time is coming we will be having budget deficit whereby money at hand may not be sufficient enough to buy what we needed at that moment.

I think money has a spirit. When you have money that you are not using, you will end up spending it unnecessarily and buying things that are not necessary. But once the money is in, it’s better to get an investment or a business running with the money. There are some people that are so disciplined that if they have the mindset of not spending the amount entering, then they are not going to touch it, but they are just a few people. When you have money, you will notice that problems will keep arising.
 
When I am expecting money, sometimes I do promise myself that I am not going to touch it or spend it unnecessarily, but if I receive the money immediately, I will change my mind and end up getting things that I don’t really want.

With all profane credence to what you have said, I think food and buying food is such a necessary essential especially when you have taken it into your system and it will nourish you except you bought it and emptied it to the waste always but if you want to treat yourself to a sumptuous meal, that should be very fine. Sometimes people decide to eat outside with their families too so nothing is wrong with that IMO and buying personal belongings like you mentioned, clothes etc. But if you are frivolous to what you use your money on then it should be unnecessary.

Yes, most purchases are done emotionally, and corporations have mastered the art of invoking these pleasant emotions which leads people to be loose with money,

on the other hand some people prefer owning things to money by default as fiat money is in infinite supply and on a path to getting continuously devalued against all commodities...

Another effect is people are usually more inclined to spend their earnings in the same venue that they gained it from, for example if you do well in the stock market or crypto assets, you are far looser when taking more risk in those venues vs an outsider or a less experienced player...

Yes, obviously, I think it's human nature though. But looking back I should have at least invest that money or just save it for future used. Because we don't know what the future lies ahead, maybe down the line there is some emergency within your family and you could have used that extra money to help.

This may have the opposite effect. Maybe that’s why you shouldn’t be overly thrifty and spend money while there are actual needs for purchases.

Also, that flow of money might not go forever, unless you really build generational well for you and your family.

Probably no flow of money will last forever. Therefore, it is better to create alternative, backup flows in advance so that you can switch to this.

So it's better to weigh-in first, what do you want to buy, it is a question of need or just want?

I perfectly remember my insane state when I saved up a lot of money for bounty here on the forum, and also to check a number of successful investments, it gave the effect of compound interest - a very good profit. I went into the store and took everything I like. And only when cryptocurrencies stopped growing, and when the era of ICO passed, I found out the prices for a lot of things I bought in the store without thinking. My spending has become much more reasonable, and I have installed an application where I record all my purchases.  

I would like to give advice to everyone who goes bitcoin - guys, sometimes withdraw cash, don't save up all the time. Because if the cryptocurrency winter comes, you will be left with pennies of profit.

Sometimes money can make us forget everything, including planning how to use the money.

As in the previous incident, I planned that when I get my monthly salary, I will use the money to meet my needs, give some to my parents and set aside some for savings. But in reality, after I got my monthly salary, I did something careless by spending most of the money to buy the latest cellphone. which ultimately resulted in my needs not being met, I couldn't give money to my parents and I didn't have any money to save. And to answer all that, like it or not, I have to take out a loan because my parents need money and my needs have not been met. And unfortunately, after a few weeks I had to sell the cellphone to be able to pay off my debt.

However, starting from this incident, it made me aware and made me someone who is able to carry out good financial management.
