Being a member of this Forum, what are the things that you can say YOU have done for the growth of this Forum aside from posting (which is normal) or fishing out scammers/hackers.
I'd like to know because we do have members that have the title (if I should call it a title) PROMINENT dancing by their name, and I just wonder.
What have they done to own that title?
Is it that they have contributed much on this Forum? What have they done or how can we tell what they have done?

You have to be specific, like mentioning some names, but in general there are people contributing by distributing merits as sources, and there are people helping newbies, new to crypto etc.

Contribution to the forum is by reporting spam/off topic posts, that's it.
Anything else is contribution to the community, either by teaching or providing useful information.
As for scam/ cheat busting, no comment.
About others, we are just here to express our opinions, and as you know, opinion is like what? That everybody has one. Lol we just ask and learn.

Yes I know about that, those merit source and traders teaching newbies to learn more about crypto are doing a great job. Is just that it seems like these set of people have done something  big for the Forum. Ok let's say what have you as a member done for the growth of this Forum? Is not only you but to everyone who glance through this post.

By just merely conversing in this forum is good enough of a contribution in itself.

If you see some people here that thinks that they're some hot stuff that's above most people here, then just leave them be. Don't waste your time trying to complicate/overanalyze unnecessary stuff. There's simply better things to do in life lol.

I don’t think I have seen people with any title as Prominent by their names, except if I missed it those profiles .

The only designated ranks who mostly have contributed in the past by donating some bitcoin (monetary contributions) are given the title donators and VIPs. While the staffs who work to keep the forum being moderated are also known by their profiles showing those titles.

The other set of people are the merit source who selected to distribute merit to forum members by having to go through the forum or board assign to them to merit quality posts. These members are choosen by theymos although it is through application by the reputation they have earned and how well they know the forum. All this are people are not paid except staffs that I have seen old threads about them getting paid, but I can’t say for that. So i will this as their contribution to the forum.

Other contributors also can be seen on their trust feedbacks left by other members, example are people that have had handle special donations in the forum, members that have contributed to local boards through guiding and translating meaningful information to his local language. All this and more can be found on users profile by just viewing their trust lists.
Aside this the most important is people that have freely shared their knowledge with members and are given this tittle by the forum members themselves.  

I somehow like the idea of the forum being free as we have it, once there are things that gets attached to it then it wouldn’t be this transparent again and many scams will be done here.

So if your purpose of asking is to get the prominency rank, I would say start by just been a member who doesn’t engage in scam and help to guide people with your knowledge and also help to catch scammers. That’s all you need  

All the main ranks that can be handed out to normal users are: Brand New, Newbie, Jr. Member, Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, Hero Member and Legendary.
In addition to the main rankings, there are also sub-rankings that can be applied, and those are: Donator, and VIP.
Finally, staff sub-rankings are as follows: Staff, Moderator, Global Moderator, Administrator, and Founder.

Forum has ranks, special badges and titles for their members and prominent contributors. Prominent contributors have special badges and titles and the latest member who got it is PowerGlove.

There are community voices to have a new rank for very 'Prominent' members, a new rank above Legendary rank but it was not considered or deployed.

In signature campaigns, some campaign managers classify those 'Prominent' members belong to Merit rank.

Yes, undoubtedly, long-standing members like LoyceV, joker_josue, and Tryninja and other members I don't know that much about, have been helpful in supporting theymos taking care of the forum since its creation. Their contributions, including writing code, fixing bugs, and various other invaluable efforts, have played a crucial role in keeping the forum alive. newer members like powerglove have demonstrated exceptional skills, continually impressing the foru. Many users, both old and new, have contributed solutions that have aided fellow forum members in navigating the platform. This collective effort has significantly bolstered their reputations and earned them recognition and trust within the forum

Nonetheless it is just like the meaning of the word itself (important or famous member). It is used on members that have stayed here for long and have been popular which is still base on their contributions to help the community by sharing their knowledge freely. If you visit the technical board well, you will see some of this members eagerly helping out from their knowledge without any monetary value and they have been doing it for a very long time so yes they are worth the tittle. Others could be on how patches or sites they have created to help the navigation of the forum easier.

But the prominent isn’t a tittle that is ordained or generalize on anyone here, it depends on you giving such member the title based on what you have seen about him. Someone prominent to you might not be to me.

What is the purpose of this forum? It is about learning from people and people to learn from you about bitcoin, altcoins, other boards and about life.

Contributing to this forum by having quality posts is enough because information is key to understand and successfulness. What I first learnt on this forum is how to avoid scam and when to invest on bitcoin and knowing how altcoins are dangerous even if I have to invest in them. There are a lot that newbies can gain from this forum.

Another thing is that some people are reporting ṣpam and low quality posts that are worth reporting, they are reporting the scam posts to moderators for the moderators to delete them.

I didn't see the "outstanding" label, but I heard a hint of criticism in your post. Why should people do something for the forum, in your opinion? Personally, besides participating in the subscription company, what have you done for the forum? If you have a question, then you should imagine what needs to be done for the forum. Are you doing it? If all your answers are of the opposite nature, like that you are new to the forum and blah blah, then only the fact that some people do not change their interests and remain devoted to the forum for a very long time can be considered outstanding.

Which title?
Permanent(maybe) and official? As I recall you have to buy VIP member status for 50BTC to get a custom title under your username.
Or an unofficial annual title? You have to be a winner in the Bitcointalk Community Awards program to get it. But it is not written as it should be unless you manually put it in the personal text field.

If everyone just posted without spamming and actually put in some effort into helping out other members through quality discussions the forum will be a significantly better place to be in.
That's not normal contribution, cause the majority of spammers do not do it.

Anyone who helps out with their posts and reports posts to help moderators are doing a pretty good job and are among the top users of the forum.
You're probably asking about the top 1% of users here who have gone beyond this and taken out their time to create scripts and extensions to make the forum experience much better or they are a vast pool of knowledge and are constantly giving out credbke information. Those people have earned their unofficial titles.

If all your answers are of the opposite nature, like that you are new to the forum and blah blah, then only the fact that some people do not change their interests and remain devoted to the forum for a very long time can be considered outstanding.

Maybe OP imagines that a person needs to rescue someone from prison before they can be seen as a prominent member and thinks those users have done so to earn themselves such respect.

Since this is a discussion forum, all you have to do is consider how you might help others here and invest your time in it. If others find your contributions to be worthwhile over time, they may classify you with highly esteemed individuals. Use lovesmayfamilis as an example, he has devoted his time to monitoring and reporting other members who plagiarise and break forum rules and this has made him a valuable contributor to the forum, and he has earned the prominent title because I myself hold him with high regard.

Each and everyone of them have contributed to the forum in their own way so you don’t see it that you need to do something big before you can be seen as a prominent member, just contribute positively in your own way.

Don't get me wrong please, everybody is entitled to his or her opinion about someone or anything. I might be new here but here's it, I like the way these set of people are taking things to the next level on this Forum including yourself but as for me I'd like to know what you guys did so I can follow that same step, because to me I find it fascinating, or is there anything bad to learn from you guys at the top?
This isn't only about me but to other members too, upgrading our minds isn't such a bad idea to me.
I'm not the type that base on criticism, I hate that, not my thing. Like you said or assume that "besides participating in the subscription company, what have I done for the forum?" Very funny (who do we need to rescue 😅?), now you get my point and from all you have said is clear and other members who come and read some of these replies would know how to keep there heads up high.
I too think I have much more to give but is like I don't know if I'm getting it right because I'd also like to see myself as a helping tool in this Forum not to only come here make post and run off, that's how some people think. But wanting to do more give you that same morale to always come back here and make things right.

I'm not a special user, though I firmly believe that consistently following the forum rules and contributing to the best of your knowledge is already enough to be considered a contributor. As for prominent members, I'm not entirely sure about that, but I do know there are popular members in the forum who have made valuable contributions. They've been instrumental in combating spam and scams, especially when money is involved. Their efforts help maintain the forum as a safe and a good place to be.

In my opinion, these are the individuals we should truly appreciate and thank. They've done a tremendous amount for the forum.

I respect people who I consider useful for my progress and perhaps for the progress of many other users through the knowledge they have. It doesn't matter what the rank is and doesn't care about the title attached to it.

I haven't done anything that stands out while I've been on the forum other than conveying what I know through posts. I also don't know what the specific purpose of contributing to the forum is because I just obey the rules and try to always be someone who learns from those whose characters I like.
When I am alone in silence without any noise in front of the computer, I often ask the question of what contribution I will make, but I can't find it because almost everything has been done by other people.

The battle of words in my mind continues regarding the matter of contribution with the question of whether it could be because I was here late.
The answer I found was not true and it was a form of blaming the situation.
My initial conclusion is as in the paragraph above. I will honor them in the hope that others can get the same from me someday.

Members are often recognized for their contributions in various and some common ways that contribute to the growth and health of a forum such as sharing knowledge, helping others, creating high-quality content, maintaining a positive environment, and participating actively. Remember that everyone is different and what is considered a valuable contribution in one might not be in another. The term Prominent seems like it might be used informally to refer to members who are well-known or highly respected within the community due to their positive contributions over time.

There's not really a set rule for what makes someone a prominent forum member.  Lots of folks get popular from being around a long time, helping newbies, offering cool services, that kinda thing.  Each case is different. 

You're being real vague here instead of just asking what you wanna know! Pick one member you think is a big shot and ask about them straight up and  or even better go read through their old posts - its all out there.  You can see which posts folks gave them merits for, and the trust feedback other members left on their profile.  Stuff like that.
