If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

I am more inclined to assume or believe most of gambler are actually under control and can keep good relationships wit their family members, their partners. There are still physical casinos in the world and in many countries,you can opt to go there to socialize with other fellow gamblers and if you are about to get addicted quite some other people that will stop you if they see you are about to do crazy things.In such physical casinos there are beautiful ladies serving free food and drinks so that is another good way to not feel lonely at all by interacting with them.I know that in this place it can spark addiction but if you go there with the intention of not feeling lonely that can be a great motive to stay and forget about the loneliness one can feel at certain points.

There are still physical casinos in the world and in many countries,you can opt to go there to socialize with other fellow gamblers and if you are about to get addicted quite some other people that will stop you if they see you are about to do crazy things.In such physical casinos there are beautiful ladies serving free food and drinks so that is another good way to not feel lonely at all by interacting with them.I know that in this place it can spark addiction but if you go there with the intention of not feeling lonely that can be a great motive to stay and forget about the loneliness one can feel at certain points.

Perhaps it could be a simple solution for lonely gamblers so they can kill their loneliness by gambling at physical casinos. At least they can meet and converse with many people while gambling. This will help them socialize, and they might get something from the gambling place. If they can find someone or several people who have an idea for doing something, that person may be interested in joining. He will not feel lonely by joining and doing something that can positively influence him. He will also not return to the physical casino because he is already busy with what he is doing. But whether to socialize with other people or remain alone will be the decision of each person who feels lonely. If they still feel comfortable with their lonely condition and decide to continue gambling, they will remain like that, and no one can change that except themselves.

Yes, loneliness can make one a gambling addict. Loneliness can make one become addicted to other things like drugs, alcohol, sex, and masturbation, so it's the same thing with gambling.

When you're lonely and unhappy, you begin to look for things to fill up your time and reduce the sadness. This happens subconsciously most times because you don't make a conscious effort to look for these things, it's just what your mind wants.

Yes, people become more interested in forbidden activities. Especially those activities that are forbidden or cannot be done in front of everyone, people's interest increases a lot when they are alone. Because gambling is still seen as negative in many places, the main reason is addiction ‍and whenever a person is alone, he will get involved in all those addictions. To tell you the truth, there are people whom I know who are gambling addicts or are very close to it. Some of them are married and have families and  some of them live alone. So, in my experience, there is no direct correlation between gambling addiction and loneliness. It depends on the type of person more. Just my 2c.

We are not saying that a person who has a family, a wife or close friends can't be a gambling addict. Yes, there are people who has a lot of gathering around them, who are very social but still they are gambling addicts.

The point is that a person who is alone has more probability to get addicted as compared to the one who has a company around him.
Anybody can get addicted to gambling but a lonely person may have more chances because he has no other entertainment around him else gambling.

If a person has family, sometimes the responsibilities won't let him play excessive gambling but when a person is alone. there is no hurdle for him to gamble all day and night.
