At this point of time, I'm willing to quit gambling if there's a really negative things that won't make me do gambling. One example of it is having fights with my wife or having emotional struggles because of doing gambling. If I were still an addict, I don't think that I will quit even there's some negative things affecting me but yeah, I've changed and move over on my gambling addiction. Self-control is very important in gambling as we'd never say that gambling was wrong unless we got out of limitation. We don't need to borrow money for this sake and we don't have to compromise our finances as this will cause more problems including family relationships. I think what could make someone who’s an average income earner to either pause or quit entirely is mostly the finances of the individual.

I feel for you, especially where you speak of chasing losses. Did you not have any mentor or guide? Changing ones habit is not an easy task. It happens is that, I was in the same situation as you..not addict but I gambled a lot. But look at me now. I don't gamble as much as used to be. Maybe once in a week, when the weekends start. Like when grown mens gather after a long work week and take a day off.

The only reason I reduced/abandoned my gambling habit is because of my children. I don't want them to be a gambling addict. I know how far gambling addiction can get. Health is more important than anything, it's ridiculous if someone is more concerned about gambling than their health, and if indeed he has a disease that can be affected or exacerbated because of his gambling activities then I think there is no reason whatsoever for him not to stop his gambling activities, honestly I don't care even if for example he is addicted which is in fact quite difficult to get out of gambling but I think if his family knows about his gambling that can affect his illness then I'm sure his family will do whatever it takes to stop it.
