For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal?
One of the cheapest alternatives cost 2,04$.

what is the standard food menu?
Rice, beans, pasta and a small steak of meat (chicken, pork or beef). Sometimes a portion of salad or another side dish. Everything comes inside a packed lunch made of polystyrene.

What is the average monthly and annual income in your country?
Monthly wage in average is 269,04$, and annual income you can multiply by x12, so it's about 3.228,48$ or 3.497,52$, if there is a 13º wage paid to the employee.

Of course, there are another alternatives of more expensive meals, if you are willing to eat more tasty food and with larger portions of protein and side dishes. Personally, I really like "all you can eat" offers, where you pay a determined sum of money to eat as long as you want and can afford to eat. Japanese food is popular on that category and the price stays around 24,25$ per person. It's really expensive, but so good...

Imagine that for only Rp.5000 or $0.30 you can enjoy rice with side dishes to relieve your hunger.

Don't forget, "Nasi Padang" which costs only $0.6, is a food that unites the nation because we can enjoy delicious beef "rendang"  Cheesy

Nasi Padang is almost available throughout Indonesia, regardless of city. Where I live, Nasi Padang is considered a luxury food, for Nasi Padang with chicken side dishes the price is $1.5 per pack, if with rendang the price is around $2.
If you go to Lombok, Indonesia where the Moto GP event is always held here, please try Nasi Kaput. Nasi Kaput is very famous here with prices around $0.3 or Nasi Balap Puyung with side dishes of spicy chicken, soybeans and rice for only $0.6.

Expensive guys, at my place nasi Padang is sold per pack, chicken packages, rendang packages, catfish packages are sold for $0.6 or $0.8

The situation in my country has become very  bad to the extent that the cost of food is no longer affordable with low amount of money. For example a bag of rice was 8000# at a certain time and now a bag of rice is now 55000# the difference in price is just to massive in just a few years.

Is the increase in rice prices in line with the increase in monthly salaries or minimum wages in your country? I think this is a significant price increase, from 8000 to 55000, can it be converted to USD?

I want to know about the cost of living and average income in each country. Can I ask that here?

For comparison, may I ask how much a standard meal in your country costs for one meal? what is the standard food menu? What is the average monthly and annual income in your country? Please those who answer can use calculations in USD

Note: I don't need the tables issued by the government because they are usually different from the reality on the ground

Food prices are just one part of the cost of living in a country, there are other factors like rent, utilities, transportation and so that should be included when calculating the living expenses for each country. The problem with that is it's going to be only an average number across many different products and cities in a country. People are very different from each other’s, some like to live in the city centre, while others are fine to live in the outskirts of a city. Other people like to go out to a restaurant a few times per week whereas others prefer to cook at home. I can tell you a bit about my country and the food costs here in Germany. If you are looking for the cheapest meal, you can buy frozen or canned food in the supermarket for less than 3 Euros. During a promotion you might even get the food in large quantities for less than 2 Euros. The problem is going to be the taste and it's not really nutritious. Eating it in large quantities over a longer period of time is not healthy. You could also make pasta with tomato sauce for the same price. But if you are looking for fresh products then price is going to rise quickly. I would say on average a decent meal at home cost at least 6 Euros and in the restaurant 10 Euros.

Wow, that's good, I hope there's a budget meal in our country too. Everything is expensive here and every thing that you do comes with expenses and some native products were sold in a higher price due to inflation, it's quite difficult to budget especially if you're a minimum wage earner, all your salary will go to bills and budget, nothing left for savings and personal needs.

Mostly the countries which have high rate in food are not well at the economy,  as I have checked many countries which have lot of varieties of food and they didn't have high price. Which is quite a good thing,  but mostly when the prices are high at a country of aby food then young generation have a lot of problems to face.

Young generation mostly likes the fast food which in turn is very expensive in some countries like it includes the pizza,  thr burger, etc. So this kind of food liked in countries and people love to enjoy it a lot.

A country's economy does not always depend on or be guided by the level of food supplies.
IN my country, it is an agricultural country because it has a large agricultural sector, but the economy is not very good, and many farmers are not even prosperous, so I think it is not a significant benchmark for a country's economic progress.

In my country, fortunately, basic costs or food needs are still relatively stable and worth it for the income of even low-level workers, but they are not yet included in the high class, what I mean is standard food costs for people in the lower half of the economy. .
If they have an income of $300 then they will probably only spend $100 on food, that's a good standard.

Here are some Turkish figures as of Nov'23, keep in mind that food used to be much cheaper but now some items are even more expensive than their European counterparts because of disastrous economic policies by the government, and specifically corruption in the Agricultural ministry...

Ground Beef (1kg): 13-15 USD (depending on the city)

Sour Dough Whole Wheat Bread (800-900 grams): 1.3 USD

Free Range Egg: 0.2 USD

Tomatoes (kg): 1-1.5 USD (depending on quality)

Chicken Breast (kg): 6-7 USD

Olive Oil (1lt, extra virgin): 8-10 USD
Don't the Turkish lira experiencing a bad inflation right now? This could mean that this rate that you're talking about could be much bigger now which is kind of sad for the people that just wants to eat and make an honest living, I can empathize with you in regards to the corruption in agricultural ministry, it's the same thing for my country albeit I can't really say that what we have is much worse since you didn't share any details but in my country, they don't care too much about farmers and a lot of municipalities are trying to create artificial inflation so they can sell their food hoards for a much higher prices and not to mention that the national government doesn't help a lot in terms of subsidies for the farmers so they can afford the necessary stuff for farming like feeds for the cattle, fertilizer for the crops and such and the agricultural department don't want to find a way to make sure that farmers are getting fair price when they sell their services on the market and the consumers end up shouldering the burden of expensive food cost in the country. A decent meal for a day would probably cost you around 10 USD even if it's a home cooked meal.

I see you are from Indonesia, I also come from Indonesia I live in the capital with my monthly income of $230.
My living costs while living in the capital are quite expensive compared to living in the village.
1. Internet costs = $4/month
2. Transport (top up money) = $20/month (train + bus)
3. Food = $1/day (cook yourself) or $30/month
4. Boarding house = $50/month (outdoor bathroom)
5. Unexpected costs = $60/month

A month is never more than $180. There was even a record under $150 when I wanted to save money.

Each country has different cost of living and food prices vary from country to country. And food prices vary somewhat in different districts of a country. For example, the cost of living of a person who lives in the capital of the country is not the same as the cost of living of a person who lives in a city because there are some differences in food production and prices depending on the area. But in my country the price of food products is still quite low compared to other countries but the income of a person in my country is much less than other countries due to which the price of food products seems very high relative to that income.

I see you are from Indonesia, I also come from Indonesia I live in the capital with my monthly income of $230.
My living costs while living in the capital are quite expensive compared to living in the village.
1. Internet costs = $4/month
2. Transport (top up money) = $20/month (train + bus)
3. Food = $1/day (cook yourself) or $30/month
4. Boarding house = $50/month (outdoor bathroom)
5. Unexpected costs = $60/month

A month is never more than $180. There was even a record under $150 when I wanted to save money.

It seems that the rate of inflation in your country is very low because you can live in the capital of the country at such a low cost. What you spend living in the capital, we spend living in the village. If we start living in the capital of our country Pakistan, we can spend only one week with this amount of money.

Your food costs a dollar a day and if we wanted a dollar we could just eat breakfast. Now think about what our food bill will be in a month. We cannot say that the monthly income is better in your capital city, but it is slightly better than in our country. However, having less expenses than income means that inflation is lower and therefore time can be better spent on income, but more problems can arise where expenses exceeds income.

It all depends on each person's lifestyle. If we live in a capital city with a high lifestyle, then for an income of $230/month, we will never be able to meet our living needs while living in the capital city.
And you are someone who is simple and able to reduce the cost of living, to the lowest level. And we rarely encounter people like this, especially those who live in the capital, most of whom prioritize prestige over function by choosing a high lifestyle.

Food’s relatively cheap in my country (The Philippines) compared to the rest of the planet. For crying out loud you could get a full course meal for as low as 20 bucks here at a semi-fancy shmancy restaurant, and if you’renreally willing to scrooge your way out of the day., it’s easy to live in under 10 bucks.

But the problem lies in how much the Filipinos are getting paid. Ut’s common for the Filipino to be paid less than 10 bucks every day just barely enough to get by. Which leads to poverty and food insecurity where people are indeed getting paid, but just enough that if they quit their jobs, they’re toast.

lucky you that food is relatively cheap in your country the farmers in my own country have gone from creating a solution to people wanting to make money at the cost of whether they can afford it or not, which is not a primary assignment for farmers, and farmers will tell you they also spend money in term of production, so if they are selling their goods, they put too much into consideration, the problem I see is that very few people are going into farming if the number of farmers can increase then food such be sufficient and the price will be very affordable because there is a lot of supply when it is like that it will favor the buyer, let us be encouraged to farm no matter our little noting will waste.

The only thing is that you spend less every month. While I'm on the internet, it's already 32 dollars; for food, it's around 65 dollars; since I have a motorcycle, I spend about 25 dollars on gasoline; and for unexpected costs, it's around 60 dollars; and house rent is 60 dollars per month.

My other billings, such as electricity and water bills, and liability assets that I pay, such as real estate and wages to housekeepers per buwab, are not included.

$65 for food per month is actually a tight budget if you ask me and are you single and all you need to budget is for yourself?
Because if you have a family, this could be a budget that you can't eat everything you want.

$65k per month? Not enough here in the Philippines, the cost of living here in very high as well but then the daily minimum wage is very low. And as Asian countries, our staple food is rice, and now that it also sky rocketed, even onions here was once like more than the price of gasoline because of some malpractice and corruption as there is also a cartel.

So very hard to have that kind of budget here, it's just 2 days budget for my family for food alone. Prices of basic commodities as well is very high like internet, house rent (although I don't pay rent), water and electricity. So everything is f**k up now. If you just rely on your regular 9-5 jobs and doesn't hassle, I don't think that you can survived here or in any other parts of the globe wherein the price of the basic necessities is going up.

Just only $65 mate, you excess that with "k". Smiley
I think in every Asian country, there's been a solid inflation rate that many can't keep up anymore and that's why every type of survival technique is being done.
That's true about relying on a 9-5 job, it's insufficient these times and that's why we see people having a lot of side hustles, not just 1 but more than 2 for the hardworking folks out there.
But I just want to know from those people in Thailand, because it seems that it's one of the cheapest country that's always been said if the locals will agree to that.

Actually, my country is not doing well, inflation is also happening. Prices of goods are increasing due to fuel increases. I say one dollar for food because I cook it myself and I'm still a bachelor so I think that's enough for a day. If I buy food outside of course one dollar is only enough for one meal a day.

We also depend on ourselves when it comes to living costs. If we spend a lot, even a large salary is not enough to cover a month's needs. That's why it's important to manage finances so that we are more careful in spending money, regardless of salary, we still save some profit. If you live in the capital, prestige is not enough, so use your money according to your needs, not your desires.

Price of food in my country is very expensive, this is because of lack of production due to lack of production materials and high cost of domestic gas, electricity price hike and costly nature of pms.
The citizens of my country is suffering because of the government deaf war towards things that are suppose to be in surplus so that the citizens and production companies both farmers can have access to it, I know that we are aware that their are mechanized farmers and for this people farming activities to function, they must need either of this aforementioned products, but when the get this products at a higher price that's to say that, they will have to increased the price of their product in other not to be at loss.
The price of food in my country does not have a fixed price because of the regulatory agency lapses, the pricing organization fail to do their job, so individuals can fix any price they want to sail their item without any interference.
If you ask me, I can not categorically sum the cost of this items and give you the exact amount.

When you mention standard food, of course everyone has their own standard level. People who live in rural areas have different standards from people who live in urban areas, as well as people who have a mediocre economic level have different standards from rich people. It is very difficult to get accurate real information because the cost of living in different regions even within the same country varies. So what type of food do you mean by standard? especially since each person's standard level is different.

I want to know about the cost of living and average income in each country. Can I ask that here?
The cost of living for most people may vary and depends on how much income they get from work because usually the cost of living will be balanced with our respective incomes. You are free to ask anything, but are there any conclusions that we can discuss here to provide a solution to the problem?

No, I am not looking for a solution to this problem because I am not capable of solving such a complex problem.
OK, and you don't need to look for solutions for the public, but at least for ourselves as an option to balance the complex problems that are occurring. That means this discussion is only for consideration to see the conditions and percentages of food prices in each country as a comparison.

Note: I don't need the tables issued by the government because they are usually different from the reality on the ground
I also want to know why you intend to know this price and whether it is related to the increase in the price of goods which continues to increase in the increasingly difficult economic situation in society.

Yes, I have a prediction that the world will experience a food crisis in the next few years. I speculate that this will start in Europe. Maybe I will ask the same thing in the next few years to ask the same thing and how prices have changed or are still stable
The food problem is a fairly sacred condition because it is related to human life and when this sector experiences problems it will have a much more severe impact on inflation and recession. For example, when Covid-19 occurred and food shortages resulted in uncontrolled price increases and this would ultimately affect national economic stability. Because we are in the same country, perhaps the conditions that occurred during Covid-19 can be a reference for how our society can handle it.
