No, I don't feel like that. I've learned to balance things up. I invest awhile, wait for its dividends to come and then spend it on pressing needs. Take time off busy schedules and relax. We should learn how to ease off from time to time, after all no one will have all they planned to achieve accomplished. Even when you record tremendous success, you will want to embark on another. That's the whole makeup of man. Man likes conquering new territories and breaking limits; except for the unambitious ones. We should learn how to live life for its present time while also project a bit for the future. We shouldn't completely sacrifice our today for tomorrow. No one is promised tomorrow, like Akon the musician, would say.

If it has already become your habit or routine to save up for investment, you wouldn't mind budgeting yourself as you don't have any time to enjoy yourself. Some people would say that's a bad thing and some would say its a good thing, but for me, it would just depend on your goals, some would prefer to go YOLO so they would try everything and explore early while on the other hand, some people have the mindset of they want to retire early and enjoy life in the future without thinking of their money. I think people who would prefer to go after the experiences are already financially stable as they can enjoy life without saving up and budgeting their money for their everyday lives, cause people who have a bare minimum wage are barely surviving and having a hard time investing, how else when it comes to their desire, wants and enjoyment?

When someone is illiterate of money ,he thinks he will buy a car ,live in a big house and he will roam in the World. But when he became responsible person,he invests for the future because no one knows future and future can be worse than we think. In my point of view, that is responsibility of every responsible person , investment for his family is food ,his family will get benefit if some incident happens .I saw many people who did give nothing to his family and they wasted all the money that he owned. Minimum 20 percent of your income should be save for the future.

actually get out a spreadsheet and put down all income, expenses. and a separate list of a budgeted spend of meaningful experiences. and a smaller amount for allowed wastefulness..  if you set it in the budget and the amounts fit totals. you no longer feel guilty for spending money because its in the budget so falls within your economic plan allowance to not cause problems

dont rule out or avoid spending, just to save. but actually put a guilt free allowance to ease any stress or emotion knowing you are also saving too

It's not a bad thing to save for the future, it's not bad either to cut down unnecessary spendings and channel such amount of money into future investment, but it would be a bad thing to do all this at the detriment of your health. What's the point in saving for the future if you will not take good care of yourself and it results to some kind of health complications. I guess the money you wanted to save for the future, you'd use it to settle the hospital bills, which is really dumb and the sad truth is that people do this shit.

We try to make ourselves feel truly at peace and happy based on our outlook and basic lifestyle. Try to align yourself with the present and the future. We keep running after our basic needs. Keep trying to touch the dream of the future. Some make future plans for themselves, some for their family in various ways of thinking. None of us know how long we will live but there are many who invest in bitcoins who will have no one to see them in their future old age. I am not bothered if I don't buy whatever I want right now, there are things I need today but I postponed everything to 2025 max, I believe I will be able to afford everything I want at that time when the bull market comes, so now I keep investing with every money I can and I don't let what I need sway me away from investing.

Before i started having conviction for crypto I have a lot of dreams and today almost every dreams have become a reality, I focused only in having a great life in the future and I use the present to hustle hard and it paid off really well.

If you are not making a lot of money and you want the best future for yourself now is the best time to cut down your expenses, don't buy what you don't need, don't spend money anyhow, but one thing you must do for yourself is staying in good healthy shape, make sure you eat good food.

The hard fact about this life is if you don't spend your money in yourself you could die at any time and those who still lives will enjoy all you have worked for, also if you spend lavishly because you can die anytime you might be destined to live a very long life, and if you don't save enough money and also have some investment, you won't enjoy your old age.

Savings shouldn't deprive people from getting the basic things they need just because they want to save up money, expecially not even thinking of put the health in consideration.  The basic things us needed to be provided because I think in life when their is good health their is more tendency of making more money for the future but when the health is neglected it could leaf to weakness that will enable one not have the energy to look for money for one to be able to save up money for the future.  Take care of your self everyday to be sound in health and after the money to make good savings.  Saving without taking care of the body can lead to breakdown that all the money that have been saved will be used to put the body in order.

We never know what will happen tomorrow and our future. However, everything we do now will determine what kind of life we will have in the future. And if you don't care enough about your future, then please spend your youth having fun, don't save and invest, and just use the money you get now to fulfill all your desires.

Come to think that even rich people are really that having that kind of budgeting when it comes to their funds. They didnt really be able to reach up that particular financial state
if they havent really come into a point that they are really that careful on how they do spend, not literally speaking in those common things and necessities but also into the
businesses and ventures that they are getting involved into. Wise spending and decisions be made should really be something that worth of the action you are taking

I have been here and I have past this level of financial timeline. This happen a lot when you invest all you have in the presence into the future and then you become uninterested in some things, sometimes you even have but doesn't just care because you have these believe of making it tomorrow. However, I don't fancy this kind of lifestyle because it make us forget to live the present to focus on the future and we forgot that we only live once, life is Yolo don't forget that alright.

I don't want to live the future and deny myself the present, even though investing is good, just know that nothing in life is assure. If you must invest, do it and make sure you are comfortable and not going around looking unkempt so that even when the money comes around, it wouldn't take you years to blend with the money you make and people will not start to ask you the source of the money gave you money over night.

Eat well so that when your investment ripe in the future, you get the chance to enjoy it and don't end up spending everything on your health, eat well and dress well so that you look good in the sense that when people see you tomorrow looking change, they wouldn't doubt your days of little beginnings.

All of the time to be honest. I’ve been denying myself some luxuries & enjoyable things to buy Bitcoin for so long. I think sometimes life is too short & I should just live for the here & now but it’s tough you know. I try to make a better future for myself by investing & being frugal but it’s no fun. It worked out good for me so far but possibly I should learn to let go a little perhaps.

We do, sometime we over imagine our future and starts saving everything for our future without understanding that's we are not sure whether we will live up to see the next minute or not. I think we should be reasonable to our present as well without overspending or wasting money in something without which we can still have a comfortable life.

For example, mobile phone is a necessity but having a gold covered or diamond studded mobile phone is something which is waste of money and doesn't serve any purpose.

It should be a calculated approach between present and future as we need to have enough to lead a dignified life which can be achieved only if we think about future and plan about it in the present. It should be a balanced approach without ruining our present.

"Imaginary future" is a pretty good title for the introductory post you chose as it leaves room for speculation and is not narrow minded. It includes everyone with their own perspectives and live story.

I think being able to save can be a goal in and of itself as much as being able to freely spend, to buy a lambo, can be a goal. But there are very different people in our society and I think a lot has to do with their past. I know some people who dreamt of buying this big house or car and once they got there and could do it, they preferred to save.

I think sometimes it is more the mental challenge people give themselves. And sometimes you have people who buy the lambo and then want a next level car and then the next level car.

For me personally I think knowing that I could do something if I wanted to is probably more than 90% fulfillment of that desire already. I don't want to say 100% because there are certainly things I would love to afford instead of saving the money when I arrived at that goal.

Actually it all depends on our position when saving and investing, and I do both and prioritize the investments I plan for the future and also when I really need them and use them according to my needs.
I already have a family, of course the needs of married people and single people are very different, especially in terms of their needs. And I'm not very frugal with money and I always put my family's needs first, and if it will make them happy, I will do it because I want them to be happy. Because I make money for them, and this is also important for the future and I think this should be balanced and also supported by income.

The fact that you have family to feed and provide, then the more that you will be motivated to save or invest for their future. But that does not mean that its okay to ignore the present needs and only focus on their future needs and wants. Of course it's not, you have to balance dealing with the present and future life. You might lose the chances to enjoy life at its present and lose current opportunities because you are so busy preparing for the future.

Invest in your future because its a must. But also learn to value the present and give your best as well, so you won't be regretting in the end. Life is unpredictable, enjoy it while you are capable and seize every opportunity that comes every now and then.

As we are saving, it is good when we do investment for because this is what is going to helo us in a long run. Those people that had been in the market and decide not to invest rather what they choose is to save there money in the bank. They could be surprised that after a while, the money will not have any value compared to when we use the money for investment and we allow the investment to grow to a certain level where we can start making profits from it. I think investment is better than just saving without plans if investing the fund we have for a better future.

I like your comment, and I can relate... I was like that 10 years ago. Now the situation is totally different, so what about wife & kids? House, car,  and all other things that can't wait? Can we deny all that? Can we save on their backs and let everything else fall just to get more coins? Don't get me wrong, but I just wish to shed some other light on this matter and topic... each of us is in a different situation, and each of us should do whatever we can to keep safe & comfortable the closest ones, I hope you get me.

Maybe we can think/dream about an imaginary future, but today is also important, maybe more important than anything "imaginary". When we are alone we can dream/deny/accept/postpone many things, but I am not alone anymore. And I can say it's hard to find balance between saving for future and living in present.
