Nah, for dhoni they tweaked uncapped player rule, dont remember exact details but it's was like if someone retired for more than 5 years then he could be considered a uncapped player and could be retain cheaply.

Yeah, that happened but even with a rule CSK is just fighting for the wooden spoon, and by this time people knew that he is retired already from IPL, and there is also some talks on social media that he will be the coach and Flemming will step down or be completely sacked.

But these all are just rumours and we just got our winner for 2026 IPL, RCB won their 2nd trophy under the Patidar captaincy but people only praise Kohli for everything though.

Point is they made a mockery of IPL and treated like some gully cricket and IPL management was in it because of his popularity.

They'll just mint his name, no matter how but they'll do it. Crazy that whole tournament is piggy backing on handful names, not a good sign tbh. Last i heard, this season ratings also came down.
