It just popped into my mind that is it making myself vulnerable to bad people?

this reminds me of news in Sweden that has been posted here in the forum where bitcoin owners were tortured by criminals to get bitcoin from the owners, so yeah, you basically are branding yourself that you might know bitcoin and gives you a higher chance of being targeted by bad guys who knows bitcoin. I suggest that be cautious if you plan to wear clothing or accessory that has the Bitcoin logo.

I think that it used to be an interesting idea, of course at the time when the price of BTC was a few hundred $ and when people did not pay attention to such things, but today such dressing can have very bad consequences for every "Bitcoin promoter". However, I think that the "danger level" largely depends on the country where one lives, because in some countries people usually mind their own business and don't pay too much attention to what someone has on their shirt, and in some other countries people would do crazy things for $50.

In the end, I can't help but wonder why anyone would want to have a BTC logo on their t-shirt or jacket at all - it is a decentralized digital cryptocurrency that can be promoted in much simpler (safer) ways.

if anyone fears promoting bitcoin.. dont have a phone app that accesses your entire wealth. instead just have enough "daily spend" funds on you, something you dont mind losing to avoid confrontation

I have always love the idea of wearing Bitcoin merchandise but it all changes when someone was kidnapped in my country and the kidnappers ask the family of the kidnapped victim to pay ransom using Bitcoin, I thought to myself that this is the end of me saying anything related to Bitcoin in the open public.

You can easily become a target if criminals know what Bitcoin is about, they might believe that you are holding some Bitcoin somewhere and they will force you to give up your recovery seed.

Bitcoin and Privacy goes along with each other, if you want to be safe out there do not expose your relationship with Bitcoin, it's not safe.

Honestly, I haven't yet but generally I like myself wearing T-shirts with Logos/characters of movies, cartoons, and quotes too so I don't think it is going to harm me in any way. I guess I need to find one soon that fits me.

Also, I am not against keeping your relationship with Bitcoin Lowkey which all depends on our personal choices and that is the idea behind Bitcoin itself, it's your money and use it in the way you want, and eliminate the intermediates.

Honestly, I have thought of this before and became optimistic in doing so and that's why I've tried to look for some merch that has Bitcoin logo on it. But good thing before I made the purchase and it was already added to cart, I have read some valuable comments about wearing it on public and that was when someone can harm you and you can't do shit about it. Well, like what everyone is saying about it that it's better to be safe these days when you know that many people are struggling and with simple ideas about having Bitcoin is making you financially well. You become hot in the eyes of the thieves if you wear that in public. And even you're in the safest place on Earth, you don't know what's on the mind of bad actors.

Actually, using the Bitcoin logo on t-shirts or wherever and whatever many people see when using it can introduce Bitcoin to many people who see it. Because it will be a question for those who don't know, we can explain as simply as possible what Bitcoin is for those who ask. And maybe that's OP's goal. And in the past, maybe these things were good because the price of Bitcoin was still cheap and many people still didn't know about it.
However, currently doing something like that is very worrying and very risky, because currently Bitcoin is famous everywhere and the Bitcoin logo is very well known to everyone. Well, it would be a good idea if you are into places like conventions crypto crypto-related seminars, and meetings as people are aware of Bitcoin's existence and wouldn't question if you own it cause anyone could be a holder or just promoting BTC using the merchandise. If you were in public people would see you wearing Bitcoin as they would assume that would be worth a lot so they could do illegal things such as crime, worse is they can identify your identity, and would do blackmailings or stalking. Just imagine the worst case scenario that might happen cause people are actually that unpredictable that's why it's better to ensure your safety and security.

One person even asked me if I owned a Bitcoin(which I've answered him ). It just popped into my mind that is it making myself vulnerable to bad people? You shouldn't do it again. Unless you want to be a statistic. Your life is more precious to your family. Well, now that you have done than and the good and bad guys know that you have bitcoins, here are some security tips for you.
 - Do not stay out late.
 - When you are at home, keep your doors locked at all times.
 - If you can get a surveillance camera and mount it at strategic points in your compound.
 - Do not respond to strangers telling you to teach them about bitcoin.
 - Always tell your family and friends your whereabouts.
 - Keep a low key.

There's nothing bad to wear a dress, polo or t-shirt with BTC written on it as long as the area you're wearing it to is not against their law.
Is better to turn the question (if you owned a Bitcoin?) around by making it look like you're preaching about Bitcoin rather than letting them know you owned a Bitcoin, because if you do, things might get messy for you but if you ignore the question and start telling the person about Bitcoin he/she will forget about the question and even pick interest in engaging in trading or investing.

It's a mix in opinion regarding this but for me, I think that it's alright to wear something that resembles bitcoin in public, it's not like it's going to be a big deal but I don't want to sound tone deaf but I am speaking in experience since I live in a pretty safe city and neighborhood so consider that when you're wearing that and also you need to consider the popularity of bitcoin among the common people because if they don't know a thing about it then it's probably alright for you to wear it anyways. To me, if someone approaches me when I wear something similar to OP and asks about stuff regarding what I am wearing which most of the time isn't bitcoin related, I just tell them that I am not a fan or enthusiast of what I'm wearing, I just like the design so I bought it or sometimes I tell them it's my brother's clothes.

You just pulled out a daring stunt whole appreciating what you did I would request you not to do this ever as it would just land you into trouble.  As you might be targeted by scammers or even if some authorities notice you might be in their radar especially if you live in a nation which is hostile towards Bitcoin ans crypto.

I understand that you tried creating awareness about Bitcoin but things don't work this way. I personally would never attempt something like that as we would end up bringing unnecessary attention towards us and ot will deprive us of privacy.

The use of such logos on one's own clothing may or may not be risky. I've seen a lot of people have t-shirts with gun logos on them, so that doesn't mean he's going to have a gun or be picked up by law enforcement. I don't think it would be that risky to use such an outfit where Bitcoin is completely private to everyone. But unfortunately, the public display of wealth or valuable assets like Bitcoin can make someone a potential target for theft or scams. Personal safety should always take precedence over any fashion preferences or interests.

even though we want to show appreciation to the coin, it’s extremely risky to be wearing this out in public many have showed interest to the coin but can’t afford it so if you go around telling anyone that you do have bitcoin then you’re making yourself vulnerable to people with bad intentions they can now easily steal your phone or just target it, send links for you to open it and etc

OP its a nice t-shirt and of course you should wear it, don't listen to over paranoid users, they tend to focus on negativity and non sense instead of logic sense and positivity and most of them hasn't been outdoors for years.
Nah but serious, I would say it depends where in the world you are staying. But I am 99.99% sure it's more likely you will get hit by a car then that someone would go up to you and success stealing your funds because your wearing a t-shirt. It's not like if you see every people wearing gold get robbed, nah it's just non sense. Life is meant to be enjoyed and not wasted! Enjoy.

Wear it and wear it proudly.

Bottom line is you are going to die no matter what you do.

So do things you believe in so at least when time comes to die you will know you did things you believe in.

Don't do it. It will gather unnecessary attention on you. Especially criminals might make a target out of you. Even if you don't have big amounts in crypto, you may go through some unpleasant events. The police may also see you differently. There was a story years ago, a dude was wearing a btc hat or smth and the airport police questioned him because of it. Why take a risk like that? You don't need to prove anything to anybody. Be modest.

As a collector of physical bitcoin/cryptocurrency items (coins, pins, shirts etc) I have quite a few bitcoin shirts, but I never wear them.  I don't wear them basically for the reason you presented.  I don't like to advertise what I have financially wise.  Yes, if you're in the wrong place and the right time, or have someone near you with nefarious ways, I think it's definitely something to worry about.  Better safe than sorry.
