I'm talking about an autonomous AI/robot that decides independently it's worth mining BTC.

Fun fact, I made a list of Bitcoin mixers (outside Bitcointalk) where it is possible to compare each mixer, the features they offer, and the service fee... But I can't include Jambler as a mixer in that comparison table, because it doesn't have any of those parameters.

I tried to find a specific post where Jambler was mentioned but I guess that does not matter now. Jambler has been disallowed, that is the end of the matter.

As for your losses or potential losses, I have read several posts about the numbers you point to and I genuinely feel sorry about that. That bespoke signature arrangement you had was quite some deal. I have no idea about US laws and how they affected your income and associated tax but I hope you find other revenue streams soon.

Not really into forum politics but I do know there's a lot of BTC in forum reserves and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to use it for the betterment of the forum in general.

I still hope some of the senior members will step up soon, theymos included. There are a lot of smart heads here and surely there's a better option available.

Most likely beyond existing infrastructure costs, the admins are not going to spend any more money on other stuff.

After reading the post a couple of questions do rightfully come to mind. How are those funds being spent apart from paying for the regular server/hosting fees and moderators salary? If the forum reserves are sufficient enough to buy an island, one will always ask the question about why the new/updated forum was never completed.

There are no server structures with better performance than those found in the USA or Europe. Therefore, everything ends up being more or less the same, if we want to operate with the same level of quality.

I think we can host this forum on a raspberry pi 4. Slap a 10tb hdd on it and we are almost ready to rip. If we can manage to hack Elon’s starlink it would be even easier. Blackhatcoiner probably has the necessary h4x0r skillz for the job.

The admin will guard the rpi4 (server) from the US agents while we do surfing on the crazy Atlantic wavezz

I think it's quite evident that governments worldwide and especially the U.S did not attempt to destroy BTC a decade ago when doing so was relatively easy, simply because they understood exactly how it works and they allowed it to grow, and they had a plan of how to control it when the time comes, and as far as things seem to me right now, they have already got the keys -- it's all those large miners located in the U.S.

I think you're overestimating the government's effectiveness. Have you been inside a government-owned department? Government people are little different than ordinary people. They're looking on how to make money, just like the rest of us. Their willing to benefit the country collectively (if any) is secondary. Attacking Bitcoin is, hopefully for the last time, one big financial suicide. Be it now or 10 years ago. Even low-value altcoins do not experience 51% attacks, unless one big hash power holder wants to reverse transactions (again, for profit).

Keeping a website running is not simply having a simple computer connected to the internet, there is much more involved. Especially a site like BitcoinTalk.

Firstly, I have doubts that a raspberry can handle the amount of data that is processed on a site like Bitcointalk.
Second, you need to have a dedicated circuit or dedicated IP.
Third, you needed to have a stable enough internet connection to ensure that the site is always online.

Among other things. See some photos of server locations to get some ideas of what a site like this involves.

I am not sure mate. I think this set up looks pretty capable but I ain't no expert on serverz and shiet. I only know B1 level Javascript and some A2 level node.js.

This is going to work on solar too. A 100w fold-able panel will keep this baby up for a loong time.

I'm sorry for your loss mate... That's a wholesome amount to have lost due to some unscrupulous government policies... The US and most European countries have been polluted and have built fake image against Bitcoin; and Yes, the future of our toil is somewhat tarnished -- with the sanctions and bans here and there -- Bitcoin may not possess the same features as it was made with..^{[that's if they decide to leave it be]}

look at that! They keep covering up their greediness with the aim to trace money laundering cases - to which they feel Bitcoin has made that an ease to.

When FTTH becomes the norm (2030+), I think it would be viable to consider home hosting or maybe even a decentralized forum. How big is the forum database?

There are plans to provide up to 10 Gbps symmetric... copper/xDSL ain't gonna cut it (there's G.Fast, but it's considered energy-intensive compared to pure fiber).
