As far as I can see, that's true. Chile did make it difficult for Argentina to score goals, but on the other hand, this was a deficiency in the Argentine player's finishing. In that match, Argentina made 9 shots on target from 22 attempts, but a goal from Lautaro Martínez which came in in the 73rd minute managed to make Argentina win the match.

The temporary table shows that Argentina has secured 6 points from a total of 2 wins from Canada and Chile. Argentina only needs to finish 1 more match against Peru which will be held on June 30. I think Argentina can defend their title again in the 2024 Copa, but let's see if they can actually do it.

Remember the World Cup in Qatar and how Argentina got started against Saudi Arabia, it was horrible! They lost their first game in the group stage 1-2 against Saudi Arabia. At that point in time I am convinced that 95% of the world except for the Argentinians thought that this World Cup is over for them rather sooner than later.

To me it seems that Argentina is almost never doing more than necessary to get get through those group stages. I can't remember when they marched through it in an unstoppable way. It always looks bumpy, way too close if you consider their quality and compare it to their opponents. In a normal scenario Argentina should clearly win that game by a 3 goal margin or something. But they don't and it was the same at the World Cup where they got started even worse.

I think that there are no easy opponents in the sense that you could expect Argentina to win every game like 3-0, but I would think that with a squad like that the game should never be a sweat for them until the end. But they have got the job done.

Same with Brazil though. They could really pull off a disaster beyond expectation. Their World Cup qualification is going anything but well. And now they have something like a final on gameday 2. If they lose that game against Panama for some weird reasons, shit is going to hin the fan there. I would not like to be a harcore Brazil fan these days.

Overall, in regards to consistency, I think it is quite obvious that Argentina is the favorite for the time being.

The championship is in the hands of the Argentines. I really believe that they will win it. Because the second best team, at least in name, would be Brazil. But based on the way they have been playing, they won't even be able to qualify for the next World Cup.

Recently the time is not going well for Brazil, in the first match against Costa Rica, this team earned only one point. Since two teams from each group will go to the next round, if Brazil fails to win the next match, then Colombia and Costa Rica will have the possibility of securing the next round. Brazil probably know these equations well so they will definitely be going out to get 3 points against Paraguay. If the Brazil team can't dominate in the Copa America or World Cup tournaments, people will lose interest in football, so we want this team to compete with every team.

Wow Venezuela vs Mexico was the most intense game in this Copa America so far! I was literally shouting at TV when Romo saved that damn penalty lol, as hard as when Joselu scored a brace against Bayern last month.



Was expecting too much on them to score another goal from a counter-attack move, but yeah the final result wasn't disappointing at all. Crazy game!

Honestly, we can not find any striker in their team that is at such level now.

Yeah they are struggling to find their no. 9 player, but it's still much better imo comparing to the time when Brazil just had Jô and Vagner Love as their main strikers

In Brazil, currently the only legitimate and good quality center forward is Pedro, a Flamengo player... he went to the World Cup but, oddly enough, coach Dorival Junior didn't call him up for the Copa America... he prefers to suffer with the lack of goals from the current attackers... I can't understand it.

Honestly I didn't even expect Jamaica to score at this Copa America but after looking very closely on their team , they do have amazing players who play on important championship across Europe so it's fair to say this national team is progressing from year to year and even if they don't have any chances to qualify further , they made a great impression so far.

I also think Uruguay is the best team after Argentina and if these 2 teams somehow face each other in the finals , I think Uruguay will snatch the trophy. Meanwhile , they will play this night morning against Bolivia and they should win.

Surprise after surprise is starting to be present in the current Copa America, the favorite team actually experienced the bad luck of the team that was considered weak before, Venezuela is not a football strength that is indeed worth reckoning with in Latin American football today,Venezuela is not a very strong team and even since the Copa first started, many people think that Venezuela may only be a goal barn for teams such as Mexico and Ecuador which are indeed has a better squad quality than Venezuela so far, but today we see how Venezuela is able to be at the top of the standings and can be sure that it is safe enough to qualify for the last 8.

This time, every team seems determined to pose a threat and give their opponents a tough time. Venezuela surprised us with their performance, while Brazil’s games have been disappointing. I watched their game; Brazil didn't play badly. It was just that Costa Rica didn't come to that match to win.

The results are really crazy and it's not only in the Copa America as even the Euro's competition that is playing is just producing funny results and the latest shocker was the Portugal lose to Georgia, I mean you can never probably get any prediction right again as almost all the team are playing different outcome and results and what makes the Copa America worse is that even the goals that is supposed to be scored is not coming at all.

You are right that the Uruguayan team is quite strong. This team has a stable squad. And the bonding between the players is very strong. Against Panama we saw that Uruguay dominated and won the match. Uruguay have talented players like Nunez, Araujo and Valverde in their squad. However, the Uruguayan team is yet to face any strong team. I look forward to seeing how Uruguay performs against a strong team.

Uruguay will win against Argentina too, personally I don't think so. We saw Argentina's performance against Chile. Chile is a very strong team in the Copa America. Despite Argentina winning 1-0 against Chile, the dominance of Argentina's players was evident throughout the match.

To say recently would be wrong. Because we have seen from the last FIFA World Cup that Brazil is playing badly. Brazil are no longer in the same golden era they once were, but despite having good players, they have been lagging behind in terms of performance, which is why they have yet to win this year's Copa America. Everyone had a lot of expectations about the Brazil team even many bet on their performance in this year's Copa America, but they disappointed them.

It will be a very difficult game for Brazil, since Paraguay is coming off a defeat to Colombia. It is a key game for Paraguay to qualify... I am also speechless with these results, in addition to some UEFA EURO 2024 with Austria surprising first place ahead of France and Netherlands, and Georgia qualifying to the round of 16 after beating Portugal.
Back to Copa America, Brazil continued its bad results in different competitions, I wonder if they will qualify or not and imagine the consequences of ending second or even being kicked from the competition..
Venezuela did exceptionally good and they will end first in their group since they will face weak Jamaica next.

It is clear that Argentina looks quite unmatched for this year. I am not saying they will win because nobody would know what teams can do, they may have one bad game and lose to an unexpected opponent, we would never know.

But they are a VERY high contender for it, I would say they are the favourites by a mile. Look at how great they have been, and Messi doesn't show any sign of slowing down or becoming bad neither, he is once again doing great, and the best thing for Messi is that he is not carrying that team anymore, there are other people who are playing quite well, so the overall level of the team increased too. I think it is going to be good for Messi to retire with next world cup, and they may seriously win both if they keep playing this well.

All tied up at half.  US down to 10 since Tim W got red carded and Panama has played well since then.  They've generated enough chances to give the US a real scare.  US needs to win this so they have a shot at winning the group. Uruguay will be an incredibly hard team to beat but they can.  Winning the group will be important for them if they want to go far in this cup.
