Hi. I have created a small prediction tournament but numbers of registration is very few... maybe it it's because I don't have a Escrow, or because the prize money is small, but the money is from my own pocket.
But if i have a Escrow maybe it will help me to get more participants. The winning amount is small yes I know but it's from my own pocket, but I can assure if it will be a next time I will increase the prize pool with 100%. You have my word.

But to the point. I want to see if I get any more participants if I use a good reputable Escrow. To the question. Is it any good Escrow-user here with good trust that want to help me with some kind of a salary?

PS: If you are interested ONLY answer here. Not in a PM!

Link to the prediction: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5477550.msg63311017#msg63311017
(If link's not is allowed please inform me and I delete it ASAP)

In the end if people don't want free money I cant force them.
Happy Holidays and Thank you all.

If people are not interested it is not for lack of escrow. For 0.001B, you don't need an escrow at all. I guess the lack of interest has more to do with the low prize money (1th Prize: 0.0006BTC & 2th Prize: 0.0004BTC) than anything else. Perhaps it is also a bit complex for such a small prize. Price prediction contests where you just have to say a number are usually more popular.

And another thing I forgot. Do you know that the way the fees are if you were to pay the prize today it could easily cost you $35 to send each transaction of 0.0006BTC and 0.0004BTC? That's $70 to send $40 in total.

With the current state of the mempool, its gonna cost about 40% of your total prize value to make a transaction to the escrow. Maybe things will cool down in the near future, but really paying out contest participant winners just comes down to a matter of you following through on your word. I'd say escrow is not worth it or necessary in this instance.

Yes I know about the fee's issue right now. But for example if you send from Exodus to Trust. You can have 20 Satoshi as fee and I think the receiver still can use the funds, it would be worse if they used and Exchange. because then they need to wait for confirmation maybe 2 or even 3. But this is not fact this is just what I think. Is this true or false anyone?

Thanks for your input, but everyone need to starts somewhere. 0.001 was that day around $42 dollars and that is what I can afford to give away for free for now, but who knows? Future maybe brings something even better.  Smiley

Since you are not asking for money from the participants and the challenge is as simple as making one or two posts without requesting registration in third part services or linking outside the forum, I do not think you need anty escrow . Just make the competition time very short, a month maximum.

No, you can't set a fee with Exodus or Trust. Even if you could, and you set it for 20 sat/byte, it will likely never confirm and fall out of the mempool after 2 weeks. They can't use the funds until your transaction has at least one confirmation, which given the current state of things, it is highly unlikely to achieve.

Yes you can set your own fee on both Exodus and Trust. And I know it would not confirm if you got to low fee but that's does not matter in this case.

Try this: Send 0.0001BTC from Trust to Exodus (or whatever you feel like, but NOT an Exchange) with 10sat/byte. You will be able to use the 0.0001BTC on Exodus after a minute. (At least what I think and that have worked for me)
This long time waiting if a wallet requires confirmations. If I am wrong please don't laugh i am still new, but I am pretty sure this works.
So the mempool fee's won't affect this.

Anyway I just wanted to be kind to the forum but it seems not so many appreciate it but we all have your free will but maybe next year more people will participate and the prize is higher.

Best regards

No, that's not how bitcoin transaction works. If the transaction don't get confirmed, you didn't really send the coins and such transactions can be easily reversed.  It dont matter what wallet you use. And no escrow gonna accept something like that.

Only confirmed transactions get recorded in the blockchain and can be spent.

Well I just double-checked and neither of those apps have custom fee settings for me. I am using an old desktop version of Exodus to be fair. It appears you can do it on mobile.

Try this: Send 0.0001BTC from Trust to Exodus (or whatever you feel like, but NOT an Exchange) with 10sat/byte. You will be able to use the 0.0001BTC on Exodus after a minute. (At least what I think and that have worked for me)

Bro, all you are doing is sending unconfirmed coins. If the parent transaction never confirms, it will be like you never sent anything at all. Nobody who knows what they're doing will accept them for payment until they've been confirmed.

To be able to do this, when you open app. Cliick on BTC. Then the icon up to the right, and there you got your options to change or not.

Bro, all you are doing is sending unconfirmed coins. If the parent transaction never confirms, it will be like you never sent anything at all. Nobody who knows what they're doing will accept them for payment until they've been confirmed.

Absolutely! You are entirely correct; if the parent transaction isn't confirmed, transferring unconfirmed coins is only making "promises" of coins that might never come true. Accepting unconfirmed coins as payment carries a big risk because you can never receive the real currency. In summary, confirmation is required if you wish to send someone bitcoins and have them truly receive them. To ensure that the transaction is authentic and final, confirmation is essential.

As said above, for such amount you don't really need escrow. Especially with current network congestion you would have to increase your budget just to pay transaction fees.

Wouldn't say that prize is low, I think it's ok. Bitcointalk members likes freebies, but maybe this one didn't got much attention because people are more interested in contests offered by most popular casinos.

The prizes appear to be less than the cost of sending funds to an escrow, let alone escrow fees and then another transaction fee to send… Unfortunately, Bitcoin just isn’t going to be the right medium of prize for this amount at this time.

I appreciate your help for inform me but why would the people need the prize in 10 minutes? And now the fees going down but of course it can turn around.
Be positive instead of negative brother I know you just want to be kind and help thanks for that, but it's solution for everything.
But I can put a little less fee? Don't worry the winners will get their money in one way or another but I don't want to break any rules.
But fee's changes everyday so I am positive this outcome will end up good.

Thanks mate.

As long as the prize is in Bitcoin, it's allowed on the Games and rounds board.

I maybe misunderstood this so I don't blame LoyceV for having wrong because I doubt he would have wrong. But that's why i took Bitcoin as a prize even that the fee's is high,

First of all BIG THANKS to all that took their time to reply. But now I locking the thread because I listen to some posts that the amount is low and I don't demand money from the participants.
Low amount no Escrow needed. But you are are welcome to join the prediction.
