I would rephrase the question a bit. At least in my language, there is a huge difference between wages and income. So, I would recommend not to ask how to EARN, because this is a process where someone pays you, but to raise the question - how to start creating income. This is when YOUR ACTIONS start generating income. In this case, you depend only on yourself, and you can control the flow of income. And you will not depend on your employer or his greed. Although having your own income does not negate having a contract job.

Nowadays people are picky about their jobs, if the job doesn't fit what they want then they won't want to do it, that's what I see in my neighborhood. Many young people are unemployed because they are too proud to work in a job that is not in line with what they want, especially if it is a job that requires us to get dirty, like a construction worker for example.

I have no idea what op was thinking when he created this thread to be honest. He wants to know how to earn money without trading involved from a cryptocurrency forum where trading is the primary skill of most members. Odd!

Anyway, writing quality posts is a great way to earn money from this forum and it's an extremely useful skill for various reasons. This satisfies his criteria.

Would you consider buying Bitcoin and forgetting for 2-3 years as trading or investment? If you don't actively trade it and buy one time for the long term to invest, is it still trading? If not, then it's a great way to make money. Buy as much as you can during the bear season and sell at the top a few years later. I think it fits OP's criteria.

Long term investing is certainly a great way to make money. While trading can be more profitable than investing alone, but since OP excluded trading, then let's just focus on investing alone. However, if you are not knowledgeable and don't even know the coins you are hodling, you are not investing to make money, but you are only putting yourself into losses. Investing is risky, but if you know how to manage it, you can invest at your own advantage.

It seems crazy and incredibly naive that you stick "stocks" in among all those others. There is nothing "dirty" about stocks, in fact they are the very bedrock of our society. They are small slices of company ownership, from the biggest companies that are supporting millions of people in every country. Do not conflate stocks with trading however, as that is a mistake that many people make - you can own stocks for many years or even your whole life time without any intention to sell, if you buy into a company that pays out it's profits in the form of dividends because they have no better way to use the excess cash. Well, you surely have to work for it. Unfortunately, money doesn't just fall from the sky or magically appear in our bank accounts. So, if we take away all of the things you have stated then what would be left is to offer your talent or services or sell products. Essentially, you have to still invest your own work, time, and a bit of money to gain money. With how the world is going today, if you're not willing to do that then it'll either be really difficult or just straight impossible. You also have to be smart, just because you already have the money in your possession it doesn't really mean you already gained as you can only say you have gained if it is a profit meaning you are getting a positive balance and not negatives. Gaining money doesn't simply mean you have the money one day then it'll be gone the next day. Gaining means securing or increasing the amount of rate of something which in this context is money.

I agree on you. Earning an income is always the basic, but creating an income requires knowledge and skills. If you have that, you can easily find ways to earn an income even without relying on your employer to provide you an sustainable source of income.
