I want to create an e-commerce website on WordPress and was thinking of buying a domain and hosting a website on Hetzner but I have heard that they ask for KYC verification, is that true? Does anyone know any good and cheap hosting website that will let me buy a domain and host a website without KYC documents? It will be good if they accept Bitcoin and altcoins but that's not mandatory. Don't suggest a random list, recommend one that you have used successfully.

As others have said, Namecheap are a good option. They accept a wide range of cryptocurrencies (via BitPay and BTC directly through BTC Pay). However if you aren't looking to support the conglomerate, there are a few other options which you can find on this handy article: 8 best websites to buy domain and hosting with Bitcoin in 2023.

I can't vouch for all of them though I have seen people in my network use Shinjiru and MonoVM. Their cost comparison to namecheap might vary depending on the service, though for a basic wordpress site I'd say you'd be able to use their most affordable plans which shouldn't be too much different.

One benefit that namecheap have as well over these, are their custom tlds that most others don't support (yet?). I'm not sure if that would be too relevant for you anyhow though, as I'm sure you want SEO to be easier (top tier tlds usually rank easier).

Good luck on your ecommerce venture Smiley

Is this common? it is my first time hearing a hosting company asking for KYC. Lol I thought KYC Is only for Crypto exchanges and other financial entities. Hosting companies should not ask for KYC at all.
Best to Avoid that and look for another one.

Namecheap is a good one. I have bought multiple domains, and a couple of hostings before, and I was never asked to verify my identity. I still use them to this day.

The same thing applies to Vultr, I never had any issues with them but I did see a couple of users here saying they did ask them for personal info before.
I would recommend Namecheap as well. that is one of the top Domain and Hosting providers, and best thing about them is they Accept Bitcoin and many other Cryptocurrencies as their payment options. it is very easy to Add funds in the account and buy new domains and hosting. or purchase new ones.

The same thing applies to Vultr, I never had any issues with them but I did see a couple of users here saying they did ask them for personal info before.

Vultr requires to do one payment/deposit with Paypal or credit card first before you can use crypto payments what results in an indirect KYC. I don't know if this may not have been the case in the past, but it was the case a few months ago when I wanted to test Vultr.

Hi,
You can add zakservers.com to the list too, do not ask for KYC and bitcoin is accepted as a payment method, though only fully dedicated offshore servers are available along with domain names.

Zakservers.com: Offshore dedicated servers with 15 offshore locations choice, BTC and Crypto accepted, 24/7/365 customer support.

You are constructive enough, and if this is true, then it means that Vultr is indirectly doing KYC as you said but this is still not how it is supposed to be. Every company knows how it operates and the law that binds it which it must obey, which might give some a kind of soft landing. But nothing can be as thorough as the company itself allowing the KYC and using its own standards that ensure that it is done and the customer complies.

Fine, PayPal is somewhat good with their verification, but in some countries, they are too light, or you should I say careless. Not even these days that people are now buying verified PayPal accounts which makes it still careless on the part of Vultr to indirectly rely on another company for their KYC.

I have used and already had an account on Namecheap for 5 years and they never ask me for any documents, they will only ask if there are illegal activities on the sites that you are hosting on their server, Namecheap is a very friendly hosting company, they will give you the best service.

I don't know why the decision that you don't want KYC, doing KYC is actually for your own protection and there's a big risk of losing your account and your domain if the host can't verify that you are the real owner of the account if ever there is a breach, all legal and reputable hosting companies want their owners to protect themselves and they can do that if they have your document the reasons are

At Namecheap, the security of our customers' accounts is a high priority. Our verification standards and procedures are designed to protect you from being a victim of identity theft, account takeovers, and any fraudulent activity or financial losses that could happen should someone attempt to gain unauthorized access to your account.

We request that you verify your identity in several situations.  These include where you may be part of a domain ownership dispute, where you have an account access issue and request our help in accessing your account, and/or various types of abuse claims that may be brought to our attention.  We may request certain document(s) to verify your identity as the domain/account owner, legitimacy of your payment, or confirm your claim.

I just checked your website and i'm not sure OP need dedicated server for fresh/new e-commernece which probably has relative low traffic. Anyway, while your website doesn't mention KYC, this part of your ToS might bother few people.

At any time Zak Servers may demand Customer to provide proof of its identity. Failure to cooperate with this process is a reason for immediate termination of the agreement.

@zakservers should address this issue it's deceptive to recommend a platform that claims that they do not ask for KYC but on their terms, there are circumstances which they can ask for KYC.
I recommend that OP to just prioritize reputation, uptime and good support when choosing a hosting company to host your e-commerce, you can use one of your team members to do KYC in case you don't want to, KYC is very important when it comes to hosting it validates that you are the real owner of your site in case there is a dispute, its a mean of protection to your account.

I host multiple websites and traffic grew on all of them. As I said, I am using Flokinet but when it comes to prices and resources, it's hard to beat Hetzner. I can get 2 vCPU, 8GB RAM and 80GB Disk space for € 12.49 on Hetzner. I wanted to buy Hetzner's cloud server and asked my friend to register for me (they asked me for KYC documents). The same happened to my friend, I have no idea why they asked for it. I want to warn you, to be careful with Hetzner if you care about your privacy.

I have heard about Contabo but many people say that their response time is not reliable and many people don't recommend their service. I checked buyvm/frantech but what I want is not available in any location.

Does anyone know how I can find Hetzner resellers? Or if there are good cheap VPS alternatives? There are many cheap VPS when I google but I want advice and recommendations from someone who had a good experience with certain cheap VPS providers. Many of you run many tools on VPS, so I hope I'll hear good suggestions. Crypto payments are a huge bonus for me but not mandatory.

Namecheap, as your first responder said. I even renew for the max 10 years, not so much as a name requested (email only required) and no fuss, if slightly more expensive on tier 1 domains. Pretty decent deals for the bottom of the barrel domains if you like testing sites like you should.

Never been tempted to try anything else.

I don't want to risk hosting multiple e-commerce websites via hosting provider that god knows when will disappear, I am looking for trusted and reliable provider. Btw this doesn't mean hostvds is a bad company but from my experience, many companies come and go on lowendtalk and that's why I don't want to risk, I don't want to backup and migrate things back and forth.

Zak Servers https://zakservers.com/ also do not ask for KYC, and also accept crypto including bitcoin.
Thank you but I am not looking for dedicated server, a basic VPS plan is enough for me.

I bought a 15$ VPS plan on buyvm.net, they also offer a free DirectAdmin license and accept Bitcoin payments. At the moment, this is the best price-to-offer ratio that I found online that also offers crypto payments and doesn't ask for KYC submission.

Btw this doesn't mean hostvds is a bad company but from my experience, many companies come and go on lowendtalk and that's why I don't want to risk, I don't want to backup and migrate things back and forth.

I understand, but as reminder that thread mention many provider which has been around for long time.

I bought a 15$ VPS plan on buyvm.net, they also offer a free DirectAdmin license and accept Bitcoin payments. At the moment, this is the best price-to-offer ratio that I found online that also offers crypto payments and doesn't ask for KYC submission.

I just checked their ToS/privacy policy and it looks good compared with most provider. Although the ToS state they expect you enter few personal information (name and home address). And 1 dedicated CPU core isn't that attractive offer (i assume you choose slice 4096) for that price.
