The news was just yesterday. We should give it some days to know if this is true or not. I think it should be true but it may yet not be fully functional. The people that can let us know more about this are people working in the refinery, or someone that knows someone working in the refinery.

It was a good news and we hope that the refinery will not become disused anymore but remain fully functional. It would be a surprise because it has been long that this refinery has stopped functioning.

NNPC has posted on their official site that the refinery had been worked on and that from the 31st of this month, flaring will start properly. Although I don travel color for ph but I guess wetin what they might have done is the commissioning of the work and that the official work (flairing) suppose start that 31st of the month. Na to just de watch how the matter go be but if they are able to pull this off, it will be a huge win for this administration.

I hear am from person mouth yesterday, but the person talk say na till next week before e go start work fully, actually as I hear am me I no carry am serious because I no even believe the person, but as you come post am now, like say the news don dey everywhere be that ooo. Make dem start work early, at least make fuel price Sha come down, to dey buy fuel 650 naira don tire person jare, let’s just hope it’s true and make fuel price come down.

Even if dem go employ people e no go too plenty like that, d refinery done dey since, no be new refinery, and dey get staffs wey dey collect salary even as e no dey functional, na those people go continue work now, na just few people dem go need employe. What do you think its price went up in Nigeria that later went down? Inflation can make the price of goods and services to go up, but for a country to have deflation, it is not easy and government only prefer to keep the price just stable than to be looking for ways to bring the price of goods and services down. I am not expecting the price of petrol and other crude oil by-products to come down. But maybe this might help in a way the price of petroleum products will not be increasing. It might help to minimize inflation.

As e still be this na news, like normal news for naija. I no want dey pessimistic say nothing go comot from am but make we still dey look till first week January because e be like say na around that time dem dey look at starting. But this country na the more you look the less you see because for radio wey I hear presenters dey discuss am, dem say dem see where dem write say mechanically say the refinery don dey ready but dem too dey laugh say dem no understand the mechanical aspect and I believe dem just want make joke on the government. It always difficult for price of goods and commodities in Nigeria to go down after going up because our marketers are also contributing to this hardship we are in this country.
If the refinery starts working proper, just as you said, we will have a bit relief in scarcity of petroleum products and will limit importation of petrol across the country since it is available here.
Also, I think if this PH refinery starts to de work, it will encourage the government to put more effort in repairing the remaining refineries we have as well encourage other private sectors willing to build and venture into oil refining to start as well.

Make I no too sound pessimistic about di possibilities of dem employing new graduates, because I believe say na naija, we de and before dem put di information for news, every matter of employment go don de settled. According to the minister of petroleum even though Port Harcourt or other refineries work in the country the price of fuel will not come down again. And he said refineries are not to reduce fuel prices. So why are we bothering ourselves for nothing. This government is not here to make things easy or simple for the citizens but for the capitalist. If  Tinubu was to make things better for Nigerians na the first 100 days in office nai things for change well.

Omo I see for news say the refinery don start operation but I no know if na eleme refinery or Abi na the port Harcourt own, but I no really put interest for the refinery matter because say, presidential spoke person talk say wether we refine the product locally or we import am, the price go still stay the same, Omo that talk pain me well well, i no come send if the product them refine am for Nigeria or not. I heard the news in different platform concerning the opening of the refinery but I'm not really sure about it because you know how this our government,  them no dey always say truth.  They fit say that place dey work just to make people feel say them dey work but e fit shock you say from now till this government tenures end nothing fit take place for the refinery,  e fit be too much stories we go dey hear from them buy let's see how things goes.

Wow! It is indeed  a great news coming from different angles I believe by next next year things will be better than this year. First was lifting of ban on crypto currencies now is portharcourt refinery to start functioning it's really a great news and am happy about that. At least it will reduce the cost of transportation. Honestly, I feel this whole thing na the impact on fuel go dey more realistic pass because the high price honestly dey too much,and iven if that refinery dey work the employment no go dey much just as you rightly point out.

I heard about the news yesterday and everyone talking about this refinery to show say na true matter, I  really love the new develop even if it will not help the current situation make we manage the country the way we see and pray for a better Nigeria, talking about the new refinery, if the refinery will function well and will create much supply then I don't think the price of fuel will still be high cause one thing about market when the supply increase then the price will decrease. Like this now make the refinery just function proper and make we hope for change, the high fee for transportation too much most especially the car owners so if this new refinery fit increase for supply the price will definitely decrease.

You really have a point. Deflation doesn't common in country like Nigeria. But if the recent price doesn't come down, at least it won't increase anymore because I'm hearing the price of petrol will increase to around #750 by early next year. May be it's a rumour or true, no one can say but it will be good if this new refinery can help to stabilize the price.
