Fees have actually gone down recently.  Shocked

Was about to say the same just to kill FeeBudduy streak, he has the same habit as Chartbuddy but there is no Philip to cut him off but I gues sthis is normal, with $2 for next block the complains are staring to go away.
I wonder if it would be possible to have the previous message deleted if there is no post between, but I guess this would be a lot of scripting behind it.

Back to the fees, this is weird:
- middle of the week after long holiday, should have increased activity
- ETF, they were supposed to do stuff, no FOMO yet
- we have slower blocks (50 below normal at this point)
instead
- constant 30sat/vb confirmation next blocks for a while
- actual decrease in the total size of mempool from yesterday by 8vMB (including 1sat/vb)

Manipulation?  Grin Lol!

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

I would disagree with that as it helps see if the fees are trending up or down.

ETF is like a "Layer 2" for Buffets and Mungers. It takes on-chain buy and sell activity away from the network and onto whatever stock exchange has to deal with it. So I'm not surprised at that.

Also ViaBTC just mined an empty block grrrr

When someone suggests migrating to another protocol, you promptly dismiss the idea, recognizing that no other network can rival the consensus at that scale. That is the best selling point, and probably why you're here in the first place no matter how you perceive "utility". But, in my opinion, the mature choice is to do migrate. That is a feature of decentralized systems, not a bug. If you don't make usage of it, you deceive yourself. You have the opportunity to join a network that aligns with your perspectives but instead choose to complain about being told what to do.

Maybe I can change from 6hours to 8 hours?

If moderators don't do anything with posts streak, I see no problem for now

However this block is not absolutely empty as it contains coinbase transaction  which paid ‎6.25 BTC to miners. And such "empty" blocks with no "useful" transactions had been mined trough out whole history of bitcoin. Clear as bell that preventing  them on protocol level would help in reducing  the size of unconfirmed transactions in mempool but developers don’t do it for one reason or another.

Yeah, I am going to pay now 5 usd to spend 4 inputs...

I think I will wait a little more. I think those ordinal transaction will sometime have to go away.

Look at this block. Just some crazy ordinal transactions. Lots of blocks like that, with just a few giant transactions

Also, the price is going up slowly every day with this ETF crazy.

I'm here trying to do some kind of analysis, and that could be useful.

I was looking for it before, but I didn't find many solutions. Here are some suggestions, if I understood correctly what you are looking for
For example
Bitcoin Fee Tracker: https://dune.com/dataalways/bitcoin-fee-tracker
Median tx fee for past 4 years: https://dune.com/queries/3030792/5037433
daily average fee, but expressed in USD https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/bitcoin-transactionfees.html#3m

I hope this will help you

You have no clue of how much help this is for some body like me who uses no Java Script and has no possibility of looking at a Mempool chart properly.  This is perfect for me, I can only thank you this much for the Thread, stompix!

On a side note.  I can not wait for Half Hour Fees to drop under 15 to 20, but preferably under 10.  I have a lot of Services on my To Try list and I am impatient as hell.

On a side note.  I can not wait for Half Hour Fees to drop under 15 to 20, but preferably under 10.  I have a lot of Services on my To Try list and I am impatient as hell.

I have some really bad news for that 10sat/b expectation

On January the 1st there were 290vMB over 10sat/vb now there are 365vMB!
So the next block fee might be cheaper, but there is a buildup in fees waiting for a break, so I can venture and say that I don't see this possible yet, not forgetting that there a ton of people (including myself) who probably at 15sat/v would start doing some other tractions and others that seeing 10 in sight they will start consolidating at 11-12 just to make sure. The last time I saw Binance consolidating they dropped over 10 blocks of txs in one go, so take a wild guess what will happen after 2 months of high fees.

Is there any valuable meme coin fr tho...

Much speed, wow fees, need to use...<censored> Wink
No dogecoin talk here!

Look at this block.

Yes, this data will help. Thanks.  Wink
Now I just have to find a way to download them. But, I will find some way.

If you are familiar with API & things, you have complete documentation with them https://dune.com/docs/

Or perhaps Bitmover can help  Cool

There is still mempool.space api
https://mempool.space/docs/api/rest#get-block-feerates

I will try to create a chart with this one, so feebuddy can post it.
