The reason why you think bitcoin is expensive is because you mainly assume that "buying" bitcoin, an investment tool, is more like buying stuff conventionally, which counts as an expenditure. And in that regard let me break that wrong preconception for you so you gain more confidence in making investment choices in the future, doesn't have to be bitcoin or whatever.

You don't need to buy 1 BTC at all instead make a portion of it is enough for your investment, not all people have the budget like others to invest a large amount, but having a 2k USD as an investment is a big amount of money if you are not confident with the bitcoin just a half of the asset you have and half of it is into the arts like we keep saying that not ideal to store most of your asset in just a one bucket of investment to prevent burn all of your money. I'm like you OP when I was a newbie. I wanted to own a single Bitcoin at that time, but through out the process, I learned that I could still invest in Bitcoin without buying 1 whole Bitcoin. Buy Bitcoin weekly, or monthly basis, or depending on the availability of your money. You don't need to own a whole Bitcoin in just one buy, but you can buy portions of it until you get that 1 whole Bitcoin.

You can buy it whatever you have with a minimum purchase on the exchange and that can be as little as 10 dollars. so it doesn't have to be 1 BTC. Best mindset to have and it's a good advice to just invest that 2k in bitcoin and giving out the prospect of what could be the resulting profit if they've invested and waited for it until the price has gone to a 100k, you've also covered the DCA part so OP doesn't have an excuse not investing or regretting investing. My only take in all of this is that OP should take it all slow, if OP doesn't feel like investing a huge amount of money to bitcoin, they can just do DCA so they can ease in without too much worry or regret about investing in bitcoin.
