I picked Morocco to win the first half. They just missed a penalty which should have helped the chances of that and have now lost their captain to injury. That is a really sad one for Saiss, this could easily rule him out from the rest of the tournament.
They still have enough firepower to win comfortably, but I would not be surprised if it becomes a trickier game from here on.

You are right about the tactics both coaches will take. Comoros are a much smaller team and will always defend in these kind of matches hoping for a draw and the more the hold out the more the pressure grows for the players and fans.

It was in the first half that Morocco had all that struggling in the match and it was what I projected since it is the first match of the competition and the two teams are meeting for the first time in years they have no idea of each others weak points.

In the second half was when the Moroccans began to feel the confidence to score after missing a penalty shoot that was awarded in the first half.

In my opinion, Morocco simply had to win yesterday's game. The Comoros have only been a member of FIFA for a relatively short time and are therefore completely inexperienced when it comes to major tournaments such as the AFCON.

I'm curious to see whether Morocco can actually live up to their underdog chances of winning the AFCON. It would, of course, be an ideal opportunity to prove themselves, as the next World Cup will also be held partly in Morocco in 2030... even though the population itself is very divided on hosting the games (both the AFCON and the 2030 World Cup), and there have been repeated riots and protests in recent weeks.

I saw the news too, for I had thought it was a minor injury which shouldn't take more than a week but I was wrong, it's very unfortunate for a team like Manchester United just after it seems like they're making some improvements from their poor season start everything just getting more difficult for them in building more points.
