In this forum i am new and proud to be here as a member of this forum. Heard there is a lot of discussion about Bitcoin so I came to join here for my own needs. Hope you all will help me. I don't have a good idea about cryptocurrencies. I just know that investing in Bitcoin is extremely profitable. But I don't know how to do it. One of my acquaintance suggested me to invest some money in Bitcoin. I told him how many dollars to invest and he said as much as I am willing to invest. I made up my mind that I would invest $500 but i am confused. I don't know much about Bitcoin so the person gave me the link to this website and suggest me to know about the various opinions of users on various topics. Since I see that Bitcoin is always discussed , I want your suggestions about my Bitcoin investment.

My suggestion is that you learn more before you invest any money, now it is true that you can make money but you can also lose it if you are not careful, and taking into account how little you know about the market, that is a very likely outcome, so take your time and learn, especially about the dangers present on this market, and once you do that you will realize why it is such a bad idea to let another person to create the wallet you will actually use to store your coins.

I am really glad to get valuable advice. Everyone provide good advices. I am concerned about several things from this topic. I will invest in Bitcoin but will take some time following those advice.

I have a lot more to learn about Bitcoin. In particular I will learn how to create my own Bitcoin wallet. I want to keep my own wallet secure. Because what I realised is that if I can't keep my wallet secure then what is the reason in holding bitcoins for short or long term. I want my small investment to be fully protected. Thanks to all who have already given their feedback and hope for better suggestions from others.

Certainly, you should invest in Bitcoin, but not through someone else. You should learn how to create a wallet, store, and buy Bitcoin yourself; this knowledge is easily accessible on the internet and platforms like YouTube. I don't know how much you trust that person, and you might think your current investment is not significant, but allowing someone else to control your assets, especially your personal wallet, is something to be cautious about.

In the future, you might use that wallet to store a larger amount of Bitcoin, and unintentionally, you forget that they've had control of your wallet for a long time. Have you considered that scenario? Be careful with your assets, no matter how small, as it could have implications down the line.

I don't trust all information shared on Youtube and since the person you have quoted already know this forum then he/she can learn about cryptocurrency here in this forum. That's what I'd rather do compared to watching YouTube about cryptocurrency because some of the videos are having incorrect information or should I say misinformation. You can ask higher ranks here in the forum and that's what they would also say about learning in YouTube. Once again, not all videos in YouTube are like that but most of it are like what I explained.

Actually it's not a bad idea what your friend suggested but are you ready to invest in bitcoin in the long run? It goes back to yourself about his readiness which will certainly suggest a lot to invest in bitcoin at any price because the price will be high soon, but if you have doubts don't do it, if you are ready for everything mentally mala do what you can.
Basically, never force it if you are not ready, if you still don't understand then learn first with some existing sources that might enlighten you a little in the knowledge of bitcoin.

Your friend has done his own part by introducing you to Bitcoin and which is the right thing to do. From your tone, it is obvious you are still in doubt and somehow seeking validation whether to invest or not. I do not know about others, but what I would do whenever a juicy opportunity is offered to me is to do a personal findings to ascertain the authenticity of the opportunity. After getting the necessary information I need,  I'll put more interest in getting to know how it works, how to carryout out certain transactions and how to navigate through the site (I.e if I eventually become interested).

Do your personal research and do make sure you learn how to open a Bitcoin wallet and how to buy and sell coins too, your friend wouldn't be helping you all the time. Its good you already have a friend who can put you through.  With what you will learn here, from your friend and other sources,  you are good to go.

First of all, welcome here to the forum that is actually a good thing to do as you are not yet sure as you lack knowledge which is to ask questions first. Your friend is good as he gave you an idea on how to make your money profits by simply investing with Bitcoin. You are also lucky that he would guide you and assist you in accumulating Bitcoin, but I still suggest doing your own research first, it would be better if you fully understand how to invest because not all the time your friend could help you all cause your money is on the line, you would need to decide for your own self cause it is your money. Start with a small amount first so you can gather experience and you can be familiarized with the system since the basics can be taught by your friend.

Although I do believe Bitcoin is the best investment in terms of safety and profitable, but not everyone will think Bitcoin is like that since they still or not trust in Bitcoin. It's better for @OP to learn about Bitcoin first rather than directly buy the coins without a high knowledge in Bitcoin.

  Well, it seems that you don't really know anything about Bitcoin. Anyway,  anyone is welcome on this forum platform. Whoever told you to invest in Bitcoin, the only good thing he said is that you only invest the amount you want.

  If you have an idea about Bitcoin, maybe even if you just know and study it, you should invest because of its upcoming bull run next year. And as far as I can see, you didn't make a mistake and just thanked the person who landed you here, even the person who told you to invest in Bitcoin as long as you have long-term holdings. This is always a problem for some new people who are in bitcoin. They don't really understand what they are doing and are just lulled by the words of others (because they follow the hype) which in the end they are trapped and feel deceived by what they are doing even though it happens in a conscious state but it is their intention that is still wrong because the goal is only hype and wants instant profit.

This is an important thing IMO because even though we certainly agree that bitcoin is one of the good enough investments but for new people in the end there must be special attention so that they don't feel trapped by situations they don't know. Being in bitcoin is not as easy as imagined even though when taking a straight line it is just about saving money and getting benefits in the future but in the end the process is not that simple so there must be special attention in this case so that you don't have the thought of feeling cheated by bitcoin just because you are in it but don't know anything including the risks that will be owned because they are only lulled by the words of others.

Welcome to the forum, it's a good place here for beginners to learn more about crypto currencies and get advice for your first trades. First of all, if you want to invest on bitcoin you need to start somewhere. Prices are quite high at the moment, but so are many other assets like gold or stocks. If you have the money and don't know where to put it, I would definitely recommend you start buying at least a small amount of Bitcoin. I am not saying that you will be instantly profitable with it, there could be another crisis next year sending prices lower again. But it's better to own some coins instead of none. With the halving coming up next year there is a lot of upwards pressure in the market. Just don't rely on other people telling you how profitable your investment is going to be. That can lead to a disappoint, we should always be realistic with our return expectations and change with the markets sentiment.

It won't take much to get yourself familiar with the Bitcoin wallets and how to protect your seed phrases and coins. I just hope that you do not find all this stuff too complicated that it stops you from investing in Bitcoin (I observed this from your above writing).

I do know but maybe it may be difficult for a person to understand all this stuff if he or she hasn't operated the computer and the same goes for a non-technical uneducated person. Two things can happen if such a person decides to invest in Bitcoin, either he gives up thinking it's too difficult or he may lose his coins as he may not get proper understanding.

Nah, for me you should atleast learn the basics or have ideas on how Bitcoin works. Your situation has happened to me once wherein I jump into crypto without any knowledge on me. What happened next will shock you though I only invested my time and effort through a bounty campaign but that  bounty makes me a millionaire locally if only I have knowledge but since I don't have any ideas on how to exchange tokens and trade, it's value slowly goes down trend until I lost like ¼ the total value of all the tokens I have and that happened to me way back 2017. Lesson learned, always remember this popular investing quote that says "an investment in knowledge pays the best interest".

I agree with him but i suggest you just open your bitcoin wallet yourself I do not know this guy you talk of but even if he is someone you trust, you still can not be too careful
