Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I think a guide on manual management of fees in different non-custodial wallets would be useful, considering that the fee topic is very relevant right now. I've encountered some issues when trying to use the advanced fee settings on Electrum, and the recommendations I've seen online didn't cover what I needed. So a comprehensive guide that covers topics like where to find out about fees (Mempool), how to set the fees manually, how to use additional features like increasing fees of unconfirmed transactions could be useful.

Not my personal problem per se, but if I were to guess, Lightning-related guides that non-technical people can easily understand and follow.

In terms of crypto in general, probably security-related guides that aren't boring to read.

There are many levels of writing content to satisfy different need of many categories of people who use bitcoin.

I used to be a newbie and I was noob, don't know what is wallet, private key, public address and even did not know what is a transaction hash then how to check it.

I was panic when I withdrawn my bitcoin from one exchange to another one and many hours, it did not come, in 2017, you know there was congestion around Segwit upgrade and the fork.

You can start with them and it relates to how to choose a good wallet to use, create it, back it up, recover it.

Then how to check Bitcoin mempools, choose free rate for a transaction.

You can read following resources and have idea for writing content.

If you're planning to write guide on Bitcoin then do write one about Lightning network and wallets that support it. Please do ensure that if you are planning to post such guides in the forum then do keep updating it. I have seen a number of guides that have been left by the owners. They haven't even tried to update the images they have posted in such guides. It becomes difficult for newbies to then find an alternative option to the query as the guide he is looking in the forum is not an updated one.

I think for everyone, I suggest that you write a guide about general ideas and knowledge about bitcoin. It is solely for beginners, and beginners should learn how to be patient and that bitcoin is not something that you can earn right away just because you invested in it. The new investors should learn more about bitcoin and how to control themselves in the space of this field, as many new investors are being carried away and ignore the important parts of investing in bitcoin. I know you have a good intention; that's why I hope you read this post or comment so you can give guide a full but short guide that will be brought by those newbies in their journey in this bitcoin world or crypto currency world. I will also be curious about what guide you will make to help those in need and if it will really be helpful.

For me, I think it related to Crypto trading strategies because most of the guides out there are not free if you can provide detailed trading guides and new strategies for free many of us will be happy.

I agree with others too that wallet-related guides and how they can secure their wallet will help many people if you can provide a detailed guide about wallets and security. Also, take note of Web3 because this is the most keyword used on Google searches these days.

I think a guide about how to create a personal wallet and save your seed phrase and other security measures of a personal wallet would be very helpful to majority of the newbie members. I'm thinking about writing a detailed step-by-step post about wallet creation and how to secure a wallet when I have the time. But, if you can write a detailed step-by-step guide for newbies then that would be a great contribution from your side mate.

I say write how beginners should start, like something friendly. Most people are often overwhelmed with the details or are scared of the fake news. Introduce the concept of Bitcoin in simple terms and explain how to acquire a small amount of Bitcoin for hands-on experience.Smiley

In respect to what you should write about, adding to the details information about lightening networks, which wallets support it, and how to set up a channel as suggested by other users above, I will also suggest you add information about crypto currency in general in terms of word use and all of that, especially in areas where most people see all crypto currency as something that's decentralised.

And then again, an explanation pointing out the difference between network fees and gas fees will also be appreciated, as I have seen a lot of members, both newbies and higher-ranking members, also refer to bitcoin transaction fees as gas fees, which is totally wrong.

You can also go ahead and add information about address usage. I mean, in the aspect of reusing addresses, you can explain in detail to a layman, as many newbies also see the reuse address warning as if they can lose their coins. be reusing an address when the case is just for privacy reasons only.

Since bitcoin or crypto in general is a commonly traded asset, I think content about trading and investment management will always be important. Additionally, there is the issue of security, about how to keep our wallets safe. Since Bitcoin transaction fees have been high recently, Lightning might also be interesting to review in more depth

The best wallet recommendations are also worth writing about, the best hardware wallets, the best computer device wallets and the best mobile device wallets.

For someone who wants to use BTC as a payment method and not a speculative investment, how to handle the taxes?

For instance,

  • Situation A -- I put $5,000 USD worth of BTC into an account on a set date, then using BTC to pay for all transactions that accept BTC, until the balance goes under $1,000 USD-worth, replenish back to $5,000, and repeat.  Let's say the replenishment works out to be maybe every 15-18 months and something like 5-10 transactions per month at $10-500 USD per transaction.
  • Situation B -- I dollar-cost average $200 USD worth of BTC into a wallet every month and spend BTC for all transactions that accept BTC.  Let's say something like 5-10 transactions per month at $10-500 USD per transaction.

It would be nice if you were to simulate actual transaction dates/amounts for a more specific example.

For both situations, step me through the math of what is the tax liability, if there exists a streamlined (tech) way to figure it out (it's all public record, are there tools?) and the US Fed Tax forms that would need to be filled out and the transference from the tool to the tax form.

I read.

You pay taxes on cryptocurrency if you sell or use your crypto in a transaction, and it is worth more than it was when you purchased it. This is because you trigger capital gains or losses if its market value has changed.

It's measured in USD equivalent, you can use blockchair.com to know how much the coins worth based on transaction dates. This is the capital gains bracket.

It means if you not use your coins after a year and you only spend up to $11K, you won't be taxed.

This is my understanding, I'm not from US.

As far as bitcoin is concerned, there are lots of things that are bothering around it that need to be properly taken note of for good stability and engagements. Yes, there are lots of people out there who have been in the industry and are still yet to get some more information because they lack ideas on how to go about it, but this move by you could help them solve some percentage of their problem, at least if not all.

I have read through many replies here, and most of them are still pointing to the same thing, but I am coming from a different angle, which no one could think of when it comes to bitcoin-related issues, and that has to do with guidelines for noting bitcoin scams and phishing links. Yes, even wallets suffer from this phishing through malware sent through installed apps or messages one receives and unknowingly clicks on them. This has cost many of their bitcoin assets, and some costly mistakes were made by them without knowing that what was sent to them were scam sites and links.

So it would be nice if you could really look into this aspect of activity and work on possible guidelines for both newbies and old members on how to note bitcoin scams and phishing links, as they are basic to being safe with your funds and assets in this space.

So it would be nice if you could really look into this aspect of activity and work on possible guidelines for both newbies and old members on how to note bitcoin scams and phishing links, as they are basic to being safe with your funds and assets in this space.
Do we really lack resources to educate people about phishing links though? There is also no difference between crypto phishing links or not, they have more or less the same signs. I don't see a lack of education on this forum to be honest, not sure if other media don't even bother with it. That would be a shame though, since it is such an easy way to get visits from beginners. At the very least, I believe most people are aware that Google ads are likely a scam/phishing link most of the time.

Your work is important. Most obvious obstacle? Know Bitcoin's technicalities. We need guides that explain its technology, especially for non-techies. Consider "Bitcoin Blockchain for Dummies" to simplify the terminology. While helpful, this is important for wider acceptance.

Second, crypto-related personal money management is new to many. How does one balance Bitcoin with traditional investments? The ideal portfolio mix? A handbook, like "Balancing Bitcoins in Your Portfolio," might bring clarity to a confusing financial situation.

We must conclude with the future economy. Blockchain is integrating into more industries. Insightful guides like "Bitcoin's Role in the Future Economy," could change readers' investing and innovation views.

I have an odd job of writing guides that can help people through challenges they may encounter in the crypto space. So this is simple. What are the challenges that you face with Bitcoin in particular and the crypto space in general. What guides would help you? I'll read through all, and thank you.
I like to find new and valid Crypto earning opportunities.
so I for me Earning related guides. how to earn different coins, how to join airdrops, contests and reward programs of different projects. would be best type of guides.
other than that General Bitcoin Guides, Mining and Trading Guides are also very helpful for new commers in crypto.
what is the website/project you are working with in writing Guides? it would be good to have a link to that. so we can see the guides you've wrote for them.

Well, if you want to know or learn about Bitcoin in this field of industry, first of all, you should always start with the basics, because all the experts also just started with the basics. So in this matter, you want to know all the basic knowledge about Bitcoin. Basic idea about crypto trading and the basic features of Bitcoin as well.

These things I mentioned, when you know the basics, I am pretty sure that in the end you will be thankful that you know the basics about Bitcoin.
The more you learn in basic is the more you get deeper in it.

A comprehensive guide on how to earn from Bitcoin will be a lot useful to many people. Many people do not know there are lots of ways to earn from Bitcoin aside just buying and holding it over a long period of time, at most they trade their coins and that's all. People can actually earn from Bitcoin by
  • claiming airdrops from some cryptocurrencycompanies
  • Lending Bitcoins to people and earn returns
  • Mining Bitcoins
  • learning about Bitcoin on some cryptocurrency sites where you earn some Sats after completing the course
  • and helping some vulnerable companies find bugs on their sites. People earn a lot doing this for crypto companies

If people get to know more about how to go about this, they won't be limiting themselves as far as Bitcoin is concerned
