I'm not so sure about the long-term future of altcoins. I hold altcoins for the short term and look for short profits.
Recently there have been several coins from the Solana network pumping. I'm usually not too interested in tokens like that. but this time I will try to look more there. I'm quite interested in SOL.

but if a bull run situation comes in the near future, there will probably be quite a lot of altcoins following Bitcoin's movements.

It is difficult to pick just one alternative coin that has the potential to perform well during the upcoming bull run. Many of them will be bullish, and the majority will not even make it to that point. Choosing just one will be difficult; everyone has a choice and the one they expect to do well in the bull run. The best advice is for everyone to do their own research and invest in what they can afford to lose, keep their level of risk in mind, and work hard to achieve the highest return on investment in the shortest amount of time possible.

Reading one of those fancy whitepaper things can tell you something about what the project's going for, but you gotta look into other stuff too if you really wanna know your odds.  Like, what kind of track records the team got? How solid's the community backing this thing? And don't ignore how the market cap's doing neither - that can say a lot about where this coin might go 

Now I aint saying research makes any altcoin a sure bet.  Heck no.  These things stay risky business.  But informing yourself gives better chances of making calls that won't leave you crying into your beer a year from now.  So put in the hours before you put in the investments.  Might make all the difference.

SOL was hyped by FTX when it was still operating. i think they just picked up where it left off and then pumped again.

doing good research still can be helpful but with all the altcoins today, you could just pick whichever it is that didn't turn out to be a scam back in 2017, i think will still make you a good profit when there is an uptrend for the rest of the year.

i still came back to the old token i have invested a long time ago which was the $WAVES. last bullrun it hit almost $60 but also dived to $1 in 2023.  i got to try it again.

It's not easy to predict which coin would be the next big thing. I would have suggested Solana a few months ago but now it's not as hidden. Another coin I believe can have relative success and is still not that popular is Cosmos. They too have increased quite a lot in last couple of months and now currently being traded around $11, they could easily reach $30 anytime soon as the rise is still not in par with other alts. The aims at creating interoperability between blockchains and their own ecosystem.

It is not that easy to find a hidden gem. Few months back both SOL and ICP were very cheap now they are pumping. You could look into coins that have been newly listed and then take a decision. As soon as Bitcoin starts to pum a lot of new coins do rally. Today again Bitcoin has been pumping and every coin is in green.

I feel like with its recent performance everyone has already taken interest and is aware of the potential solana has that can give massive profit i mean those who have invested in solana has already made profit especially those who bought theirs a few years ago

Many alts are now showing promising signs. It's a good thing that they're already looking up and making portfolios green again. From my observation, airdrops are back and that's a sign altcoins are going to do well once again. TBH, it's pretty hard to pick which coins will have the potential to grow in the future. There are some tokens like SOL, AVAX, ARB, ATOM, ADA, INJ, etc. I guess it would be better for us to do our deep research on which projects we believe will grow a few years from now. What I did is I just bought different altcoins that I believe will grow a few years from now and then invested a few hundred bucks on it. If it become successful then good for me, if it's not then still good.

We have to pick at least 5 coins for long term because the chances for less known coins to become know coin is very low. We should look for coin which team are active and well experienced. Team should making new partnerships which one day they will make partnerships with big exchanges and other platforms. I will choose $Inscrption coin which is available in bybit but not famous yet. I am keeping eye on this coin from the start and I believe that for long term this project can do something big. Currently it is trading at 0.21$ and their activities show that very soon we could see price above 1$. This is my personal research and not recommending for other due to high risk

It does not really mean newly released projects, since there are also projects who already came out and run as usual but only a few people give importance to them, or they lack in budget to promote their coin very well.

When we invest, we won't just pick up a coin and hope that their values will rise dramatically but we better check their documents first if what they are offering and if all are legit. Maybe it's true that many people are into known projects because it's safer but there are some who wants more adventure, so they go on the lesser known projects.

TON has one of the highest TPS among utility tokens and is future proof for wide acceptance of crypto. The only downside is I was slow to realize it and the price has already gone up. Willing to buy more if goes below $2.

Yeah are correct I was as well feels disappointed about the project though at then we were having this speculation that it will be listed in either Binance exchange, or kraken exchange maybe any other better exchange that would boost the progress of their coin than just listing in Bitmart. TON is amazing. we heard of its development years ago and no news comes out about it and then suddenly one token just emerges out of the blue on the CMC and outranks the best ones. right now there are already tokens using its blockchain. TON is big because we know millions and millions of people are using telegram and i they declare this token should be held by everyone in order to chat, it will have the highest demand.

For so long without news, now there are many changes and growth in the ecosystem that are taking place quickly, some of which show that the future of the TON project is good and will compete with other projects. updating from network errors which are still a problem at this time. I can't pick any specific altcoin that I know will have potential, but I believe it will be one of these 3 categories.

TBH, it's pretty hard to pick which coins will have the potential to grow in the future. There are some tokens like SOL, AVAX, ARB, ATOM, ADA, INJ, etc. I guess it would be better for us to do our deep research on which projects we believe will grow a few years from now. What I did is I just bought different altcoins that I believe will grow a few years from now and then invested a few hundred bucks on it. If it become successful then good for me, if it's not then still good.

If I understand what you are trying to say, you are normally investing in coins that have not yet been known by people, and at the end you get scammed or the coin stops existing in the market. Only one? Thats kinda tough but I think that would be INJ or AVAX those two are highly appraise L1 and most likely will be doing good performance during bull market. You have good options there, although there are enough of them to call out, notwithstanding, the INJ and AVAX are among the best sincerely, and I see them continue to grow. But if I am still told to choose the best among the two, I will go for INJ. This token is good and resilient, and what happened in the second half of 2023 is a witness to that. This is still the beginning, I expect it to move upward better and will keep most of the gains for a longer period of time.

The AVAX is also good but I base my decision on the fact that AVAX is older with a higher market capitalization of about $14.5B. It is only being appreciated because of the Ethereum link, but for how long? It still has the chance to move higher, but might limit it to a certain price over time of stretching higher even as it's currently 9th on the table judging by the position based on liquidity. But INJ is newer and is merely $3.2B in market capitalization. It's also a Layer 2 application which makes it more unique. The way it moved during the last mini-bull run speaks volumes too.
