Is English language really necessary in our local board?

Happy new year everyone.
I took time to go through the local boards in this Bitcointalk forum and I found out that almost all the local board apart from India and Nigeria are the countries that speaks English in their local board as all other countries speaks their own languages rather than English language so I now begin to wonder that is it really necessary for us to be speaking correct English in our local board while we can just be speaking pigin language since we don't have a unified language as a country.
So should we continue mixing English language with pigin language base on the fact that we don't have a common language that everyone can speak and understand or we should just make pigin language official in our local board?

Though for me I prefer make we use pigin as official language so that e go help those of our people here wey no too know how to speak correct English and when e be say if other people dey speak correct English Dem no go understand wetin Dem dey talk so that e go dey easy to carry everybody along for d local board. Although e get people wey dey use pigin dey write always for our local board but when other people dey take correct English dey discuss you go see say dose people wey dey use pigin write no go understand wetin Dem dey discuss.

To me mixing pidgin and correct English no change anything atol, because na the message you dey pass across Naim Matter. The problem we get na the too much language we get for Nigeria. Like as I been talk before here na place wey foreign people dey always visit and dem dey try read wetting people dey post because Nigerians dey become more interesting this days. and if you dey lucky enough them see your post worthy enough dem fit merit am with the English you speak because pidgin no get Google translator. so anything wey get advantage also get disadvantages. while the disadvantage na the English wey you speak, if na something wey dey implicating and you dey see am as say na local board say dem no go fit trace you, dem go catch you when you speak am for Pure English Naim be the disadvantage.

OP Your suggestion dey good o but wetin you go understand be say e get some senior men Dem wey dey come from outside our local board wey dey come check how we dey do for our local board and sometimes Dem dey award merits to quality posts wey Dem jam for our local board, so if we say make we make pigin official language dat means say if dose people come our local board e go dey hard for them to know wetin we dey talk or discuss therefore Dem go find am difficult to merit post them wey get good quality so na in be d disadvantage wey go dey there if we decide to make pigin language official for our local board so make we just dey mixed both pigin and English language as we dey do am before na in be my own opinion.

The early members of our local board chose English and Pidgin as the languages, and this has been a big issue over the years. In Nigeria, where almost everyone speaks English and Pidgin, these languages were chosen to avoid confusion. I remember someone suggesting using other tribal languages, when writing about the history of the local board but that could have made things worse.

Currently, only Naija and the India board use English alongside their local language. The local board wasn't created solely because of language.it was a way to unite Nigerians and discuss country-related issues.

It would have been more stressful creating a topic strictly for Nigeria in the general board, and having other English members who know nothing of what is going on debate for us how to go about. So that's the whole idea about the English and PIDGIN it does necessary mean we have to write in pidgin but as a way to bring us together.

We are truly representing the Nigerian way of life here in this forum. If you check very well in our society we are mixing English and pidgin language in our day to day life and that's exactly what is happening in this place. Those local boards you see that they are only using their local language check very well in their country it's only that language that is widely spoken every day.

Your suggestion is a good one, but make you know say no be everybody dey fluent with this our pidgin. So when they speak, them go likely mix am with English. I will say pidgin is a common language  that some counties might find it easier to understand with the rate at which our citizens they go viral

Inasmuch as here na our local board and we suppose represent, make you know so say no be everybody here wey Sabi nack the pidgin well and instead of that one to be barrier for these people to no dey able to pass the info or knowledge wey dem get, nah make for me I feel say the ogas for here put am as rule for here, so if you dey ask if English dey necessary, my broda I go say yes. Sure legendary if a topic is focused more on a particular country in the general discussion board, it can be moved to that particular local board and I also want to suggest that since we have rules guiding our local board, the OP that created the thread of the rules and regulations guiding our local board should pin the thread so that whom so ever that is new to the local board can navigate through the rules and regulations and it can also be visible to all the local board members, so I therefore move a motion for the thread to be pinned by the OP in our local board.

You can call it dead matter or whatever you like but what matters most is that since you're aware that this issue has been raised and sorted out is it every one that is aware of it? So if one brings an issue or a suggestion that has been raised and deliberated before the only thing you need do is to give the person reference of where the issue has been ironed just as legendary Charles-tim did.

Most people here speak pidgin English, not because they don't know how to speak proper English; rather, because our board is called Naija Local Board, some are more likely to speak pidgin so that we can quickly and easily understand one other. It is certain that we are attempting to convey our Nigeria; may the forum know that we are not fallen behind. That is why we all gathered here.
Furthermore, the pidgin language is a language that can assist us in swiftly understanding our discourse. I don't think if you visit the others that you see people's hit will be difficult seeing the other board and observe people using pidgin English because there are no regulations requiring everyone to speak pidgin English.

Lolz. Op you thread is full with Standard English. Op it will be very hard for a Nigerian graduate to speak pure pidgin English without standard English and why because the educational system in the country forbid students to speak pidgin English. And standard English is used in all the schools from pre-nursery to university. In my village school they even write it with capital letters" Vernacular and Pidgin English is highly prohibited. And now we learn pidgin English at home and with friends very well and normally pidgin English is combination of native language and standard English so it comes with a natural language like father tongue. Therefore in this forum it will be hard for all of us to speak pure pidgin, English language must follow.
And also remember that we were not allowed to speak our languages when the colonial masters were in the scene. They were forcing us to use their language and it was not it is not possible, local language was used as a means of interpretation to them. So language barrier na one of di major thing in di colonial era. And now we can't use pidgin English to di standard level because our schools are not using it.

I thought we have discussed on this issue before concerning the English and pidgin, some people here don't know how to write in pidgin and sometimes if they try they end up confusing members so in that case the person should use English to avoid confusing others, Normally everybody sabi speak English for this forum and sometimes no be must to even speak English, I take this pidgin language as choice cause everybody know wetin to do, the thing is as the country no get particular language wey everybody understand na why we dey use pidgin. Most countries here in the forum speaks and maintains their official native languages simply because they do have a central/official/general language that is spoken understandably between them all.

Nigeria is an unified and a diversified country which has numerous believes and cultures and so is also their language but so, the pidgin English language is adopted and made being a general used for unifications through the adoption and conjoinments of the different language in other to fit In everyones aids to speaks and hears but yet there are still people left behind whom are not able to fluently speak on the pidgin language.

The local board is not made specially a secret board for
secret discussions so there is no just necessary of a compulsory or the agitations to fluently communicate with the pidgin English language here.

@OP, I can tell you that this platform in general has a pure communication of English language which makes it a primary language in the general terms so it is expected that everyone should know how to communicate with the English language system that it those of us who are basically based only on the pidgin English language that can not relate with the General language (English) here is not just fit in the platform.

Though It is not expected that one must posses the aids of using the complicated worth using the dictionary before understanding what a simple communications is all about. There could be common understandable English languages and there are also the hard times understanding English languages.
So you can just fix yourself in to the best of it you can relate with in ligns of the English language.

Dey don talk about dis your topic before now, na why dey come up with a suggestion say make we dey use both English and pigin for here, and I see say na better idea, anybody wey no understand pigin, then make him use English, you self wey write dis post, I see say na only English you use, if you are fighting for pigin to be taken as official language here, then you for don use pigin write your post now, but na English you use. We no suppose make d forum hard for each other, no be everybody understand pigin like that, so if you make pigin dey mandatory, then plenty people wey no too understand pigin no go dey post for here.

No. E no dey necessary but we no go fit use only pidgin English without the symptoms of English. These two people dey work together because na di combination of two. Di native language and di English language nai form pidgin so you can't drop one for di other one, they are all moving together. But one thing we need to know be shey no be everyone go fit speak with dis pidgin English very well so for those wey no fit use am well, let dem use di English.

If those people wey no use well and dem tell us where dem come from w don finished no big deal.

The main reason for allowing us to use English and Pidgin English na because say we no get one single official language apart from English and English na forums general language, na why people we no too de understand English get come to the local board which is very important because we de always represent in the forum.
