It is absolutely immoral for anyone to accept abnormal state of life and living to be their new normal even when its killing them, I bid to disagree that anyone will be addicted to gambling to the extent that you gave a picture of here, and not try to work or find their way out of such a miserable life, what I have personally seen before, and still see today is that, when a gambler gambles to the extent he comes seriously addicted, the gambler usually will find way to get help out of it, sometimes, the gambler doesnt let this out to the public, but deep inside of him, he is fighting to get free from the addiction, and if after few months or years of fighting and no result, frustration and anxiety sets in, from there, this slips into depression, and when things have gotten to this stage, emotions, self pity and other factors can drive such person into committing suicide.

I kind of disagree on your opinion there. It does not matter where one lives or whether gambling is legal or outlawed in such country, there will be always a percentage of people who has become addicted to wagering their money. The only difference or the most significant difference between an illegal and a legal gambling markets is that the government of those countries where casinos are legal, benefit from taxes, while in the countries where gambling is illegal, those benefiting from the casinos are criminals and associations which are very dangerous ... typical mafias and syndicates.

Though, You are approaching the problem within a very societal perspective, and since I am from the west (where most countries do not have laws against gambling and betting) I admit it would be easiy for me to create an opinion from my personal bias.
