If I may be honest and from a realistic mind I really feel worried about the situation that looks very concerning, maybe there are some places around the world that think that the situation is normal, in the sense that gambling by the elderly has become a familiar thing, but for myself, especially in my place, I honestly never saw the elderly involved in gambling, although maybe it cannot be denied that there might be one who does it but overall considering that gambling activities in my country are very illegal it makes it quite unlikely that the popularity of an elderly person to be involved in this activity.

From my own perspective, I will not be comfortable seeing my mother or grandmother or any other elderly person from my family gambling in such a way and in the public eyes. No matter how things has turned to be this time around, gambling is highly rated as an unethical business in my country and those who are involved in it how with less respect in the society. Why I have this feeling is because I am not that much involved in gambling this time around, and again I believe that when someone is going extreme in gambling it is the mother or the grandmother or in some cases the wife who will have to call them back and tell them to be moderated. But if the person that is supposed to caution you when you are going extreme in gambling is the one that is involved in gambling know that things are not right.

Grandma used to gamble, but only occasionally, mom is the same way. They only bet on the lottery and its variations, as they don't engage in other types of gambling like card games. I don't worry about their gambling habits because they only spend a small amount, and they're not addicted to it. It's their right to gamble, as long as it doesn't cause problems or stress. But have you ever asked them why they gamble? They might have their reasons, maybe they're just bored or something. Of course, the hope of winning or hitting the jackpot is always there.

I like the perspective you are coming. This is a free world and in the premise of freedom anyone can do whatever they wish they do in as much as it does not affect their neighbors. If your mom and Grandma gamble and they do not do it in such a way that you bring shame to the farm only there is not in wrong with it. Let's believe that they are having fun and as well trying out their luck to be rich from gambling.

I came across this pictures or images on Twitter yesterday night while I was just passing time on the app, and going through the comment section on that tweet, I practically had a hard time breathing well due to laughter.
I actually saved up the pics and was going to post about this here today, but I completely forgot and coming to this board now, I realized another user had indeed seen the same thing and have posted it.

The pics shared on this post are already cropped, I have the full pictures on my phone currently as I am typing, and I can tell you that, they  are way more hilarious than this ones, but as much as this is very funny, I still took pity at this women at the end of my laughter.

For me, it will be totally unacceptable to watch my mother, of this age engage herself in gambling all because she needed money, if she was gambling as a way for her to just have fun and make the day wind up faster, I did very much understand, but if her reason for gambling is because she needs money, and would end up frustrated as this woman when she loses her money instead of winning more, then, I honestly will not allow her engage herself in gambling.

it is not a problem to gamble until you are old, because there is no prohibition that old people cannot gamble. but what is worrying is that old people usually have illnesses which can recur when they experience constant stress or too much pleasure. by continuing to gamble, it could trigger the disease and it might get worse and lead to them dying on the spot. so if someone is old, they should reduce gambling at their vulnerable age because prevention is better than cure and it is better for gambling places to provide regulations that monitor older people who play at their place to prevent bad things from happening to them.

Elderly people need things to still be able to enjoy or be entertained  while they're on stay with their family and that could include gambling. In my country it is a normal thing to see elders gambling but just with small amounts. They often play with their friends and sometimes relatives. Everything's too much is a bad thing which is applicable to anyone regardless of age.

I don't know why age matters in gambling, or is being concerned of some people here. The fact that we do all the same thing and still has no plan of quitting as early as now, then we should allow them to do so. Proper management of funds is essential in gambling in order to avoid huge loss and addiction afterwards.

From a cultural and environmental viewpoint, women who gamble, regardless of age, are not viewed favorably in my hometown because women are expected to stay at home, take care of their families, and cook. Initially, I would be worried because it's easy for someone to spend more than they can afford and ruin their financial situation. On the other hand, it depends on the way she spends her money on gambling, and i'd say i'm more on the comfortable side, as I used to go with them to buy lottery tickets on certain occasions. No one will be proud as a child to see his or her mother in this situation. If I ever see my mother in this state, I will feel like a failure as her child. Can you imagine how relax she is in a betting shop What about her husband? I'm asking because African homes have descipline and most of them don't go to this kind of place, it always full of people with different people especially some crazy dudes that are not okay upstairs. I would be honestly as elderly mother if she is gone gambling it means things will most likely precipitate even further as I don't see any escape route if she for example gets addicted and plays all the house,food money and every other money in the gambling lotto club.

In the first place there is no need for an elderly mother to be playing gambling unless she is in a very bad economic situation which still can be resolved from a little help from her kids,I would definitely not like to see my mother gambling that is for sure.

Maybe she has lost money that her husband gave to her for household things or maybe she lost the money leaving to her to pay the fees of their children. This must have been a behavior that she caught up with from a very younger stage in her life even maybe before she got married because for it to have followed her thus far in her life it means that she is not new to it. If she were my mother, I would be very worried and would not trust her to hold any money because I understand that she has a gambling problem and I also will try and look for help for her.

Even though I am a gambler maybe for this issue I will be a little opposed if my ancestral family such as my mother, father or grandparents are still gambling.
It's not a matter of egoism or anything by forbidding them to gamble but with the age that is no longer young then I think it's not too appropriate for them to do even though I am also a gambler but I don't want to see my family in the same situation as I am doing.
Maybe there will be situations where this kind of prohibition will backfire on myself because there will be words when I still gamble so don't forbid others to gamble but the problem is age and maybe responsibility in this case. Not that I want to restrict anyone from gambling because that can be done by anyone but for parents to do something like this in such a blatant manner then I don't think it's very ethical to do.
