I had helped a forum member months ago and then the user posted a feedback by a positive trust rating.
I recently came across this feedback, and it occurred to me that our forum lacks a notification feature for when someone posts feedback or negative trust rating on our profiles.
and TryNinja's telegram bot also lack this feature making it valuable feature to consider.

it is necessary to have something to get notified about feedback? it will be better for the user to take action against the feedback if it's false or true.

Trust score is always visible on your profile whenever you make a post. All the significant feedback made by DT will be easily notice. If you are describing non-DT feedback then it means that it will not visible to all user that doesn’t set default trust on their trust settings once they modify it.

There’s no point on having a notification for someone give you a trust feedback if the trust score is visible most of the time. Non DT feedback doesn’t have any value at all though so there’s no point on considering them since someone can deliberately give you awful spam feedback using throwaway account if this feedback is valued.

It may have skipped the mind of Tryninja while creating his bot, so if it's so necessary he might update and include the code but if it's not your observations might go in vain.

But for me you did well to ask because most times things seems normal until someone changes them then it becomes wise and easier for both user and developer.

Although, it's sometimes obvious to me when I look at post or people's profile, the feedbacks are quite catchy in my eyes but I don't know for orders. Or those of us that browse the forum with laptops or  computers it's always very visible for us to notice any change in our profiles.

It would be quite difficult to implement for a third party (like TryNinja). There is no place to pull recent feedback, like there is for posts or merits. And I doubt it's a priority for theymos to implement as a built-in forum feature since we don't have even the basic "@" notifications. So please for the sake of your health don't hold your breath.

Op,  trust feedback is important for establishing a user's reputation on the forum some members may find notifications unnecessary and not all members uses the telegram notification bot.  Trust takes time to develop, and feedback isn't given lightly. Except that of the negative trust feedback which is given to members who violate some basic forum rules. The notification bot focuses on quick updates of a users data like the earned merits and mentions, but trust building is a slow process which takes time to build. The importance of these notifications varies based on how users engage on the platform.

I was thinking something similar to what suchmoon just wrote.

Posts, and merits are different actions to trust feedbacks and trust list. Also whoever is creating such a tracker will need access to the user's trust list to determine which feedbacks to show them and which not too. It will be a pain to those members that gets lots of retaliatory feedbacks to be notified of them constantly even if the senders are not on their trust list.

If you regularly visit your profile you would know that someone gives you positive trust and negative trust, as a poster what you should do is before posting go through your profile to see what is there and since you can easily visit your profile it's not that cool for TryNinja to implement that because it could be a waste of time. I think the already existing feature are very much okay than to put this feature there while you have access to visit your profile whenever and however you want besides your profile aren't hidden where you can't access it that easily.

Well, that wouldn't be impossible to implement since there are ~1000 users using my bot. For example, I would only need to check each profile once per day. Maybe I can do it, but it's not my priority right now.

Regarding forum notifications, I feel the most required and helpful notifications are for new topics, mentions, deleted posts, nocked topics, and merit earned. The Bitcointalk SuperNotifire is actually helpful for all of the above-listed notifications, and I feel those are the most required ones. If it were actually possible for TryNinja to include trust feedback and tag notifications, he would have added it to the telegram bot.

But what's even the need for adding it when you can just see your trust summary anytime you view your profile? Merit notifications even seem less important because you can still easily see your total merit on your profile. The most important ones are new topics and comments that mention you.

Only 1000 users? I thought it was more than that. Your bot is quite famous among us, I mean in my local thread/board. I'm really surprised to hear that. Seriously? I mean, only (+-)1000 users!!?? Shocked

Yeah, I agree. Keeping in mind the amount of active users of the forum, I would have expected that bot to be more widespread, keeping in mind how useful it is to track whenever one is being replied to and the merits one receives from others.
I guess there are a lot of newbies who do not take the time to look for the most important/merited threads here in Meta, besides of it, ironically there are legendary members in the forum who still are not aware of the bot. Last year there was a significant scam in the collectors section of the forum and the legendaries there were not aware of the TryNinja bot.

Perhaps, some advertisement to it would not hurt.

and TryNinja's telegram bot also lack this feature making it valuable feature to consider.
There are two Telegram bots that have notifications for trust feedback changes.

Unfortunately those bots were no longer active but you can take a look at their announcement threads.
[TELEGRAM BOT] Merit, Trust List, etc. [INFORMATION]
TelegramBot] Merit watcher and Mention Notification Bot. It was requested but I am not sure the developer has ever deployed it for the bot.

I've been wanting that for a really long time, my Telegram is an unreliable mess so I don't use it because the notifications is broken even though I've already allowed all notifications on it. Maybe we'll get that someday but I'm not sure that we're ready for how will the notifications work and to deal with them.

- Jay -

But if we know we got feedback as soon as someone left it to our account, we can ask for clarification immediately. If you ask for clarification after some time, other member (including the one who left feedback) may ask why you didn't ask for clarification immediately. I saw it happened on reputation board few times.

Only 1000 users? I thought it was more than that. Your bot is quite famous among us, I mean in my local thread/board. I'm really surprised to hear that. Seriously? I mean, only (+-)1000 users!!?? Shocked

Do not base your opinion on the number of active forum users on how many accounts have been created on the forum from the first day until today (and it is about millions) with real data on active users. In the last 7 days, there were 3821 active users, where about 2300 belong to Brand New, Newbie and Jr.Rank, and less than 1000 to Legendary, Hero and Senior Rank.

In fact, the base of active users with a rank above the Member rank is less than 1500 users, and if you add alt accounts to that, the number of about 1000 users who use that bot is quite realistic.

If the user is not on DT, and not on your Trust list, you're not supposed to notice his feedback any time soon.

I don't think this is necessary to add to the forum. The feedback you receive and give others usually isn't something that requires immediate attention that could warrant getting notified about it. You can access your feedback page any time you are logged into the forum to see if anyone wrote anything about you. I think that suffices.

Anyone who weighs the appeals to feedbacks they leave based on how quickly the appeal comes should not be on DT, and you should not have to bother about their feedbacks at all.

it is necessary to have something to get notified about feedback? it will be better for the user to take action against the feedback if it's false or true.
Not all notifications are needed, your idea is one of them.
I don't need notifications in case I get feedback from someone, I can check the trust page every once in a while to find out something new. If it comes from a non-DT user and they wrote wrong feedback, then I think you should just ask him to remove it from your profile no matter when he sent you it.

Nothing you can do about it.   Trust is an indicator how others view you, not how you view yourself.
