I gamble, and I define the word Gambler as a person who plays a game using money. Maybe that sounds uncomfortable for some people but others can accept it. They do admit that they are gamblers. But some people hide their gambling activities so that other people don't call them gamblers.

And it is the right of everyone to accept the word Gambler in themselves. If they don't want to be called a gambler, they can hide their gambling activities. By hiding it, they could prevent the word Gambler from being used by others. It can make them comfortable with their gambling activities.

As long as we are not affected by anything from gambling, we do not need to feel uncomfortable with the word Gambler. We can use gambling as it should be. We also don't need to feel uncomfortable or dislike it because that's how it is.

Why? Is it due to the stigma your local society carries about gambling practice and its enthusiasts? So you feel inferiorized and marginalized by being called a gambler? Well, you shouldn't feel bad about it, since you aren't prejudicing others with your gambling habits, neither prejudicing your own life. People should learn to distinguish the problem gamblers from the average gamblers, who correspond to the biggest portion of them, and don't have any major negative consequences over their lives due to practicing this activity.

If someone calls me a gambler, I will tell them yes, I gamble from times to times, and even though there might be a law condemning such activity, plus society's common sense, I don't feel belittled or guilty of anything. Gambling is the minor of the issues if you analyze the whole society's problems, what means they are hypocrities by pointing their fingers to gambling, while corruption is going strong among authorities and businessmen, unemployment rates are high and people don't have access to quality health services. Gambling popularity rises only as consequence of those problems, as people are desperate to fulfill their necessities somehow, so they appeal to gambling as a last resource, even though they shouldn't do so.

It shouldn't be hard to define a gambler, and there shouldn't be any negative pre trials over someone for him being a gambler. Judgments and concerns should be strictly pointed to problem gamblers exclusively.

I bet occasionally for fun, not necessity. Remember that gambling, like any hobby, can be fun without harming one's life.

Problem and casual gambling are different, and I wish more people understood. Most gamblers avoid letting their hobby affect their life or others. Enjoy responsibly and know your limits. I believe moderation in gambling should be celebrated, not condemned.

Public judgment hypocrisy is also unavoidable. Others denounce gambling, yet corruption and lack of access to basic services go unchecked. This double standard shows the need to broaden our view of what harms society. Community support and understanding rather than condemnation can help us view gambling and its role in our lives more positively.

In my opinion, perhaps what someone says is a gambler is the cards or dice they are playing. There are betting activities being played in the environment by using money or valuables owned by many of the players. They or someone who is building their business and their funds are more than one person, in my opinion Business can also be called gambling or in other words (betting) but someone's view is seen as a positive view. They build changes or progress in their lives.

Progress in life is step by step, we don't rush into doing what we think will harm us, because everything have advantages and disadvantages. It's usually good to firstly understand the concept of what ever it is you are going into before you then embark on such thing because if you don't understand what you are doing and then you just venture into it you are definitely going to pay for your ignorances, you may aswell learn the hard way because you have refused to learn and understand first.

Most of the time people think because gambling is mostly luck based then you should just go and randomly pick anything not minding if it will go wrong or positioning yourself to an advantage, you need to have a good knowledge about sports if you are going into sports betting els you just be gifting your money to the casino all in the name of trying to be lucky, you may never get lucky because the casino is built naturally to our disadvantage so until you know better how to be ahead of the house then you will continually lose your money to the house.

Exactly! As we all know that there's nothing wrong if someone will call you a gambler because that's what supposed to call a person who play with the extent of money. I'm not quite sure what you mean here, or what term you are suggesting we use to refer to individuals who participate in gambling activities. One more thing, seeing that you are someone who is promoting a gambling campaign but does not identify as a gambler himself. Allow me to clarify to you that being a gambler does not necessarily entail engaging in gambling activities regularly. If you have participated in gambling, even if it's only testing out various games, and have played multiple games, then you are considered a gambler.

Apart from money, other valuables like house, car, wife etc can be used to gamble. It is these valuables, money included, that make gambling risky. This is one of the reasons you don't expose yourself as a gambler, don't try such in my country, once you are a gambler that's been sighted by people you will forever be a gambler in their mind, even if you quit later it changes nothing.

I prefer online gambling because of this, my father warned me about gambling and as a responsible gambler I kept it a secret, no one knows that I do gamble and sometimes I even advice against gambling to my nieces, because I doubt they can handle gambling like I do, I don't want to see them getting addicted.

Yeah, me too. I don't want to be called by that. I am a gambler but when people talk about it, it's irritating me. It feels like you are bad and they are good while it's not entirely true.

I am a gambler, I will accept that but I don't want to be called by anyone in my circle like that. This is why I don't like talking about my habits to other people because they talk and then it becomes a pandemic that will scatter so fast to the whole circle.
We have names, they can use that, or just say "the guy" not the gambler.
A gambler does gamble but almost all the people in the world have some gamble in their lives. It may not be about the money on the line but they are also trying to risk something for a better return. That's the definition of a gambler for me. Anyone who takes risks either in life or trading and investing, they are all gamblers who is making a risky decision because they want to achieve something that ain't normal.

Gambler literally since you do gamble, it is really just that you cant be able to accept to be called one since you arent that addicted with it, well this is really just that on your own personal views.  

When you do involved yourself into betting or risking out some fiat or money on betting into something then its literally meaning that you are doing gambling.
It is really just that there are people who are really that too sensitive when it comes to gambling thing on which they are really that still in denial that

Whether a person is addicted or not, when that person is still involved in gambling, likes visiting physical or online casinos, and still likes to place bets, then that person is still said to be a gambler. And the difference is that an addict will continue to visit casinos and gamble, whereas you only gamble and visit casinos when you have the urge to gamble and when you have free time to gamble. or more simply, a gambling addict is unable to control gambling, while you are able to do so.

And if you don't want to be called a gambler, then don't ever decide to get involved in the world of gambling. And another option, if you don't want to be called a gambler by other people, then just gamble online and hide the activity so that no one knows about the gambling activity you are doing.
However, if you really like gambling, in my opinion, getting a calling as a gambler is not a bad thing and it can be considered that this is quite normal.

Of course, a rational thinker is a conscious person and will always be minimal with his stake. But then we get so emotional and irrational when we become addicted to the game. I hate to hear what gambling is called in the local language of my country and I don't gamble much and never consider myself a gambler. Because I just enjoy gambling it is not my profession. There are many people who use gambling as a pastime and enjoy gambling. They find gambling too easy.  They are the real gamblers and in the eyes of Samas they are also bad natured people. I do not understand how the word gambler is wrong. In that case, the word "Gambling Sites" would be bad too?

Yes, in a society where gambling is not allowed, in that case, if you are a known gambler or if people know that you are involved in gambling, then, in that case, people may think bad of you as you are involved in activities not recommended. Similarly in societies where religion is strictly followed and in the religion gambling is prohibited and if you insist on playing gambling or found that you are a gambler, people may think bad about you.

So it is not about the definition of gambler that needs to be changed. If you are gambling, then you are a gambler, no matter what you will like to call yourself, it's gambling underneath.

I'm also not comfortable with being called a gambler. Maybe because we are in a religious society where gambling is considered a bad act. To be honest, I was also like you where I played several sites and games just as a test and I didn't use the money I earned or spent for my daily needs. I consider gambling as an act of taking betting on a possible or impossible odd which we do not know which it is. For the sole aim of getting extra money, doubling of current funds or for entertainment purposes. However as long as there is uncertainty in the risk taking it is also called gambling. OP, you feel this way because of the negative stereotypes gamblers get in the society where you live. I totally understand this feeling because where I come from, people see gamblers as lazy and irresponsible people who live their whole lives daydreaming instead of working hard to achieve their dreams. But  this negative comments about gamblers doesn't change the fact that you are a gambler when in real sense you actually gamble. Yea, anyone who bets on anything is a gambler whether you do it consciously or not. You just have to erase those thoughts from your head and do what you love doing irrespective of how people view it. Being called a gambler is not the issue, the issue here is how you go about gambling.  Gamble responsibly and you will love the lifestyle.

Your definition is quite okay but I believe it's not only about staking with little amount in other to increase his profit because there are actually people that gamble with huge amounts as well so when we're talking about who a gambler is I think the best definition should be someone who involves himself in a game that he knows actually that his chances of winning and losing are equal no matter the amount that is at staked.

No equality in the chances of winning or losing in gambling. The player can't detect how many times he'd win or lose. Hence, he is only gambling his money hoping on luck or getting fun from the results. A gambler could be anybody, some people may not accept to be called gamblers, but within them are gamblers. But due to the nature of the society and the stigma on addicted gamblers, it happens that many people prefer to stay low key gambling. So, in the presence of such a person, calling him a gambler could be offensive, since he's working strides ahead to conceal such habits from people around him. Other names as a player, wagerer, risk taker, etc. These are general names to many other things, and a synonym to the word "gambler." When used in public the entire non gamblers present won't have the slightest inkling of what it means.
