Nothing is inifinite on earth, noticing an extraordinary performance in the past 12 (or 15) years doesn't mean it will be like that in the next 12 coming years. If you win 12 times in a row at a roll dice game, would you bet to win the 12 next times? Actually there are certainly less chances for Bitcoin to continue to rise higher than to go lower since more and more people are in profit and will want to take them at some points. Don't forget its ATH was more than 2 years ago now (November 2021).

The problem with looking at long time periods in bitcoin is that the price increased so much. People who look at the price 10 years ago might get unhealthy expectations about the future. We are living now in a completely different world. Everybody knows about bitcoin and it's much harder to make 100% return today than it was several years ago. Investors who don't hold any bitcoin yet, need to be realistic with their return expectations. Otherwise this will only lead to disappointment and premature sales. The longer the time frame the more profitable a hodling strategy for Bitcoin. So, if you have some spare money today and don't need it, buy some bitcoin, forget about it and look in 12 years at it again.

holding it for 12 years is too much. one has to sell especially in the bull market. it's not good for him not to learn to trade even at the time when the cycle renews.
but i got to pat the back of OP for having such dedication eating one meal a day and investing in BTC while jobless. this forum offers a great opportunity though.

i'm sure it's not just him who looks at BTC as their only way. i am close to an age where no company will accept me as a delivery man or a driver. i have no wealth but BTC too.

Not all of us are destined to be successful in bitcoin but having that conviction and faith like yours is extraordinary. One may be totally motivated when starting to invest but when he start noticing the volatile price of bitcoin, he gets discouraged and think of quitting already. And that’s the normal reaction and attitude towards bitcoin investment for newbies these days, unlike those early investors who are more determined to find the positive side of bitcoin despite of its imperfections and now, most of them have succeeded bitcoin and experienced life changing profits because of their deep conviction with bitcoin.

Bitcoin's growth in the last 14 years has been incredible - it's hard for competitors to match it ^[altcoins]. Bitcoin's performance is beyond doubt and everyone has studied it throughout history, of course this can be proven based on data. It's not just about price - but bitcoin's growth is also about its adoption as a currency. Real use cases have been increasing and they will increase further over time - so greater growth can still be expected.

In the next few years - perhaps we will have several countries announcing that they are starting to adopt bitcoin as a means of payment. It is very possible and I see it as one of the prospects that will benefit its adopters.

Other investors never had to face what we had to, since bitcoin was created there have been many other success stories, however since those new business models did not affected the interests of other powerful companies they were allowed to flourish.

It is good that you put your goal before your eyes and were determined to achieve it despite all the circumstances. Success does not come easily, but rather requires a lot of patience and endurance, but the good result will make you forget all of this.

I wish I did start 12 years ago and I would've been a millionaire already, I've started learning about bitcoin around 2015 or 2016 but I didn't really pursue an in-depth learning about it and then my classmates are talking about it when I was still in high school around 2017 and from then on, it's just continuous pursuit in knowledge and learning more how to be financially responsible day by day, I'm still glad though that I was able to learn and invest in bitcoin, the title is definitely right, there's really nothing like it and with the help of bitcoin, I'm probably going to live a really well off life if I just hodl and trust it to grow in the future.

If there is ability to bring the past back, it is similar to roll back the blockchain. This ability will not help Bitcoin to increase its value because we know lost bitcoins are donations to everyone.

Some estimations that about 3 or 4 millions of bitcoin already lost and it helps to reduce total circulating supply and total supply of Bitcoin. If you can go back to the past, those million bitcoins will not be lost. We will have more bitcoins to dump on the market in 2024 and we will not have a unique Spot ETF in history with limited supply.

...my battle took me three years, if I have never know Bitcoin and I decided to take the path that everyone in my country was into it would have been harder for me, judging from the present conditions of those who almost stopped my Bitcoin journey, I am not shaming anyone, I am just saying that Bitcoin is worth every shot.

Soon these same people will accuse you of not coercing them enough when they showed reluctance to follow you or learn about Bitcoin. Just wait, they will soon come. That's if they haven't already started saying it behind you. Humans are like that. We find way to blame someone else for our woes, even when it's clear we inflicted such on ourselves. Those who do that  don't deserve anyone's empathy, frankly. Anyway, we applaud you now, reading your journey through the valley of hunger pangs to your point of fulfilment. The thing now is that such tremendous achievement isn't likely anymore within a short period of time with Bitcoin investment alone as Bitcoin doesn't give those jaw dropping ROI it gave a few years ago. Gone are those days. Altcoins can do that now but it depends of finding those gems that can do it.

Though I'm curious, how did you obtain the money to invest given your years of financial hardship, unemployment, and self-discipline to save and buy bitcoin? Your story is incredibly inspirational. Have you asked your parents for money or anything like that? Nevertheless, your story demonstrates the value of perseverance and the capacity to grasp chances as they present themselves. For me, persevering in pursuing achievement in the face of difficulty in the real world requires a great deal of guts and determination.
 
I think it takes serious thought and risk management to invest in bitcoin; it's not an easy choice. It is really amazing how eager you are to take measured chances and how perceptive you are about the potential of bitcoin as a game-changing investment opportunity. If you bought bitcoin and the price collapsed, selling is not an option at all, even if there is no source of income, because the point of investing is to increase funds. But you also need to be able to sell the grown bitcoin in time, since many are waiting for its further growth, and as a result, the price falls.

You have to understand that not everyone could do the things OP did to save his hard-earned Bitcoin. You could stay hungry for a day or two without having a meal or taking one meal a day when you are single. But, if you have a family and have a wife and child who need food, you cannot see them suffering from hunger. No father or a husband could see such situation.

I am glad I am not one of them. Of course investing in something that is likely to grow much is good. But, you have to think about your family and the health as well. Without a good health, you won't be able to survive for a long time. I do not suggest anyone to do the same thing. Always have meal when you can.

As bad as it sounds, you need to be out of your mind to invest your last savings. Investing means investing money that you can afford to lose, not the last money for food and family.

Without a source of income, you can't survive anywhere, either in real life or online. Until you become financially established and solvent, you should have a job or business to earn money. So that you can survive and invest in Bitcoin from your savings. Once you start investing following the DCA strategy, it will be a big amount one day. So you may come out of a poor life. without backup of your financials would really be hard on how you can handle your finances. because the tendency of selling your assets is always there if you have no other means of income. this is why for some holders, even if they don't want to sell, they need to sell because of tight budget. how can you blame them, right?

the OP was lucky to keep up his journey on this market and see the light at the end of the tunnel. because the truth is, a lot got burnt and left this market without seeing the profits that they were aiming at.
