What a mess with Bitlist threads and the red circle icon. Suddenly, it's everywhere,  Grin It's getting harder and harder to know which one is for what. A small change on the icon adapted to the discussion would be useful, a different colour or maybe not complete the whole circle for discussions about development.
It sounds reasonable, but of those that could be used across various topics, I only see a few worthy emoji. But if we look at it through the lens of social identity, a single symbol for all threads + including the full domain name ... would ultimately benefit the project as a whole.

I think it would make the threads a lot more clearer if you put a one-word subject inside brackets, like this:

Code:
[SIG] ⭕ BitList.co - lorem ipsum dolor sit amet
Code:
[NINJASTIC] ⭕ BitList.co - lorem ipsum dolor sit amet

Code:
[TELEGRAM BOT] ⭕ BitList.co - lorem ipsum dolor sit amet

Code:
[ANN] ⭕ BitList.co - lorem ipsum dolor sit amet

or some variation of that.

Keep it short and simple, so it doesn't get cut off in the browser HTML.

I like this idea. Name changes always makes it more difficult to find back what I'm looking for.

I am looking at the list of exchanges on BitList and I was wondering about the 'Not Safe' tag displayed next to some of the brands. For example, FixedFloat and Godex are rightly marked as not safe exchanges. On the other hand, ChangeNOW isn't, but that service has for a long time been associated with scams, confiscation of cryptocurrencies, and unfair practices. What are the requirements to mark an exchange as not safe?

Anyone can suggest changes to the list.

For Changenow, I found a report from Trêvoid about their practices and I agree they should have the not safe tag. Done!

ChangeNow definitely an unsafe exchange. Over the past year, there have been numerous reports I have seen from users and my clients who have not received refunds. While small transactions process smoothly, larger ones often trigger KYC checks. Even after completing verification, support becomes unresponsive and refunds are either denied or delayed for a long and long extended periods.

That's probably because they never had the intention to refund the clients they demand KYC verification from in the first place. They only want to put a name on file, collect as much data as they can, and share the information with their partners in crime. Those who are persistent, make a lot of noise, and cause negative press to their service will probably get their money back just to make them shut up and not draw negative attention to the exchange anymore.

If you were to compare the Bitcoin Block Raffle tool to bitmover Bitcointalk Giveaway Manager, is there a difference between the two? Is there something that people can do with yours that's not possible with bitmover's and vice versa? bitmover's tool also uses bitcoin block hashes and has a share button for the results. It supports up to 30 winners. How many does your raffle tool support?

It's just a raffle tool, so I don't see any competition. Cheesy

I just took some time to code it into the website, I was already running my own raffles since 2022 with my own forum bot:

I do like our UI.

How many does your raffle tool support?
The BitList raffle manager allows as many competitors and winners as you want.

If they are identical tools, then it can be considered competition. Even the design is quite similar if the differences in colors are ignored.
Is it possible that developers are running out of ideas and are making identical tools?

It's interesting to see we have some option to choose raffle managers... that should hopefully bring some improvements and innovation.
I just hope we won't see any serious ddos attacks on bitlist website that would make it harder to use this tool.

I am happy that @icopress used my tool all those years, and he is certainly the top promoter and user of the giveaway manager. I am happy that he and his partners used it all those last years.

Everyone is free to use or share,  this is what open source software is about.

I just think that TryNinja, as a developer, missed an opportunity to given me some credit in the announcement, as the original creator of the tool.

I just think that TryNinja, as a developer, missed an opportunity to given me some credit in the announcement, as the original creator of the tool.
Like I said on my previous post, I've ran free raffles exactly the same way (provably fair with the bitcoin block hash) on bitcointalk since 2022, at least one year before you released your tool (2023). So, if anything, I think maybe you were the one missing credits. Tongue

You might have fogotten that you even participated on many of them (i.e https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5405086.msg60504842#msg60504842 - in July 2022)

Anyways, other people feel free to give any constructive feedback. Besides that, I honestly see no point in prolonging this conversation. It's a basic raffle tool made on an afternoon, no need to overthink it. Cheesy Tongue

For transparency, bitmover has been on my ignore list since forever as I have no interest in talking to him. I think my answer settles it, so no need to temporarily remove him again.

Behave yourselves, boys!!!

I prefer to throw the challenge out there to both of them: couldn't the tool have more features?
I'm throwing the idea out there, but I won't give any hints... Who knows, maybe TalkImg could do a TalkRaffle someday.  Roll Eyes Cheesy

It's just a raffle tool, so I don't see any competition. Cheesy

I just took some time to code it into the website, I was already running my own raffles since 2022 with my own forum bot.
I wasn't trying to start any drama. It was just an honest question. If someone was considering using one tool or the other, I wanted to know which of the two had the upper hand. If any. But it looks like they are pretty much identical.

The BitList raffle manager allows as many competitors and winners as you want.
That's one difference. Thanks.
