I'm just rather curious how it started in the first place though. Like the name-calling would've come from something and personally I don't think any sane person would think that Bitcoin would be a good nickname for someone regardless of their circumstances.

Anyhow, I don't think you're at the risk legally of being noticed by the government. It's just a name, a nickname at that and if you fully push that you don't have any Bitcoin or use crypto in general, I don't think they'd ever know. An investigation would warrant that they have some sort of evidence that you use it, and unless your doctor snitches, you're fine. A name doesn't exactly give out a warrant to be investigated.

Now being checked illegally though, different thing. If you think your place is unsecured, then fix the problems one by one. If you think you can't fix them, then try to move out to a new place. The simplest and cheapest solution to this though is to ask your relatives to call him by his name, or a different nickname though.

After entering the link mentioned in your post I was really inspired to read your post. You paid the birth fee to the clinic using your bitcoins. You may be very lucky because you have used your earned bitcoins for urgent needs. As a result of which the people of your area know that you have become known in the area and even your children.

You said that only your whole family and some people around you know about the bitcoins you use. If Bitcoin is not legal in your country yet I don't think this should get you into trouble. Because that's just your son's nickname. But your entire family and neighborhood people might be jokingly calling your son Bitcoin.

Just make sure to make your crypto  safer because since all of the people around you knows your involvement in Bitcoin then we don't know what can this be bringing to you in the future .
there are people that is coming against crypto users as in my country there is a incident that kidnapping happened and the victims family was asked to pay ransom via crypto but after paying they killed the victim.

That's one thing with people   they can craft a name out of anything and stamp it on you, now your child nickname may remain Bitcoin, I don't know which country you are from but it's not safe to be answering as Bitcoin, I think you can force them to stop, when someone call your child Bitcoin, call them aside and tell them not to anymore, you can explain why to them too, the faster you do this the better.

I won't feel ease if anyone call my child Bitcoin, because I am not from a country where everyone mind their business, people will intentionally spread things about you, meaning that this can get to the hear of bad people, who could probably start thinking that you are very rich.

You should be afraid of it. Bitcoin is not legal here and if more people know that you have used Bitcoin before and still do, they won't think twice about complaining to the police and getting you arrested. Not everyone uses Bitcoin for investment purposes only, some people care about privacy, and Bitcoin is supposed to be for privacy enhancement.

I don't know why it's too important to tell others that you have Bitcoin and you have made a profit out of it. Isn't it like you are showing off to them that you have Bitcoin? Dear privacy matters a lot. Here in the case of OP, he invested in Bitcoin means he has digital currency which means Bitcoin is not legal in most of the country locations in the world. OP has paid doctors in Bitcoin in case the OP goes viral due to this activity which can threaten the OP privacy. When the government comes to know about this they can put some restrictions on OP investment only in case if cryptocurrency is illegal in his location.

That name alone is a security threat, bitcoin was founded on the basis of privacy, how can you now educate others to be private about their involvement while you are a living testimony of publicity. My candid advise is this, end that name now that your son is still young, enlighten your relatives and friends to refer to your son with his beautiful name. Inform your son not to reply to anyone calling him bitcoin or to simply correct them with his actual name.

1) Your son will have to answer a hell lot of questions about the story why he is called Bitcoin, can get quite annoying quickly....

Lol, so you want him to give his son money so that he can prove to people that he and his family have money since he's called Bitcoin? That's unnecessary, and even though he might get a lot of attention for his name as he grows up because Bitcoin is spreading pretty fast and after a few years, almost everyone would know about it, I think it wouldn't become that big of a matter as the child will keep telling people that his name isn't Bitcoin and this will end, eventually.

The questions can be annoying, for sure, especially if every other person starts asking him about why he is called Bitcoin and how it all happened. That might not help you mate. Naming the child Bitcoin isn’t good according to me. In this manner you will be under attention of everyone. If you live in a place where Bitcoins are not legalised, then it might even create big problem for you. I know you love both your child and Bitcoins. But at many places Bitcoins are considered illegal, and naming your child something like this might harm both your reputation and they might set a enquiry on you for checking whether you possess some unlisted Bitcoins or not.

Honestly I'd have to agree with Nrcewker. I mean honstly you should be able to do that in this day and age and I would l certainly hope that it wouldnt' matter that much if your kid is named bitcoin or not but N makes a lot of good pointers that have got me thinking that if wherever you lived did place high scrutiniy on BTC that it may end up hurting you in the long run and definitely could even get you into trouble.

But if you really have a lot of problems and feel problems then you can explain your relatives well and tell them about the problem that I may have such problems later I think your relatives will definitely understand and know. OP hearing your words reminds me of my college life where we used to call one of our friends dollar. He should be proud of what mate? Don't you think it's breaking his privacy? Even if Bitcoin is not banned in his country, still you shouldn't tell others that you hold Bitcoin or that your family members have Bitcoin. It's like you are telling them you have diamonds in your house. You never know what is going to happen. There are countless cases where people shared that they have Bitcoins and later they were robbed.

Actually, most of them don't really know what Bitcoin really is, especially old people and small children because in my area Bitcoin is not very popular and only certain people know about it. And with this story happening, those who know that my child's birth expenses were paid using Bitcoin, want to know more clearly and also want to know what Bitcoin actually is.
