What happens if someone sells an account on a neighboring forum?

As usual I have something that makes me curious even though it's actually not important. But I will respect your opinion even with a little ridicule. lol 

As we know, there is a neighboring forum that is starting to get busy for some reason, and we can teleport the account there. So what happens if someone sells their account on a neighboring forum? Maybe it hasn't happened yet, but someday it might happen when the neighbor forum becomes bigger than it is now. (I mean selling teleport accounts from bitcointalk accounts)

I think this will be related to trust and whether there needs to be a cross-forum DT policy? It sounds crazy, but the thought was actually in my head

We can understand the forum that you are talking about which is Altcoinstalks. You know that good forum members on this forum are against account selling and they will hate anyone that wants to sell teleported account.

You said the forum can become big later in time, anyone that wants to enjoy by that time should have registered now and be posting something quality

Well, I want you to understand that before you can teleport from this forum to the other side, you will have to keep your altcointalk profile link on your Bitcointalk profile (I believe you understand what I mean by that), and according to the admin of the other forum, keeping your ATT profile link on your BTT profile is for any other future reference.

So, if, for example, you sell your teleported altcointalk account to someone and it gets detected, maybe the buyer used your account to scam someone on ATT. I believe that your issues can be reported to the DT members in Bitcointalk, which could result in you getting a negative or neutral tag on your Bitcointalk account. (Just saying...)

Also, if you check the other forum, you will notice that they still have the feature where they can tag a user, but the problem is that their feedback is not operated like we do on this forum. That's to say, if there is any problem that can lead to getting negative feedback, you can still receive tags on the ATT.

It will be unwise or considered foolish if someone does what you (@OP) is thinking.

It's a dumb move since you're risking your reputation.

Teleported account is supposed to be controlled by the same owner, if you did something bad e.g. scam in other forum, everyone will assume you're a bad person and affects all of your accounts.

I am not a member of the neighboring forum, and I do not intend to move to it. But my point is that the two forums are not partners. Our forum does not have a rule for teleporting from another forum to this one. That is, one can guess that bitcointalk should not care what happens outside this forum. If someone sells an account, let it be the problem of another forum.
But this is my vision: since I don’t read, I don’t follow the posts of people who have moved to another forum, and I have no desire to figure out who is who.

IMO it's a who cares. What you, or someone pretending to be you, at ANY other forum does not matter.

Here regulates here and there regulates there. Lets assume I setup an account someplace else and I teleport my account there.
And never use it. And then for whatever reason it gets compromised. That account then does bad things.
But...I never used it and I don't care. Why should that matter to me here. If I then go in and remove the proof here that it was me there what does it matter?

Because:

1) The account was compromised and is was not me so who cares.
2) It was not compromised and it WAS me, but you can't prove it.

Either way, it's a there problem not a here problem.

If you refer to Bitcointalk and other forums, that's a different thing, I've seen a lot of other existing forums, but they're not the same as the ones here, whether it's the accounts that operate, how to post, discussion boards and so on.

Back to the point, you can't sell an account here to another forum, account login access is different, different forums have different login access methods, so you can't sell a Bitcointalk account to a neighboring forum.

Unless: you sell the account to your neighbor, but the account remains in operation here, in such cases 30/70 DT will act, on a case by case basis, in assigning trust to the account that has been sold or bought, which is certain action exists, if found out.

Please don't mixup things with Bitcointalk. Someone might have a very different lifestyle than how they appear in this forum. A well-respected reputed person could be too rude in real life or even a cheater. I know that is bad. But, you cannot tag them because you know they did something bad in real life. Anything happens outside this forum shouldn't be this forum's issue. At least this is how I think about it. You might have a different of view and I respect that.

Perhaps you could distrust or tag them in that other forum if you have an account there. it's a totally different forum from this one. The forum you are talking about has much stricter rules regarding account ownership. In fact, they don't even allow owning multiple accounts there, so I don't think account sales will be rampant or an issue.

Since the other forum has nothing to do with bitcointalk, it doesn't matter as far as here goes. For the other forum, they do not have a system for tagging people, just negative karma and no place to put why you gave the negative karma. The only thing you could do is probably send the admin there proof of the sale and get the account marked as a cheater. Without proof, they likely will not do anything.

Do you mean selling the account created on other forum through teleport feature? I still didn’t use this teleport feature as I don’t like the forum that offering that but I believe the answer depends on the rules of that particular forum since that is already under their jurisdiction.

If that forum allowed account selling then it’s fine since Bitcointalk is not connected on it while the account user has the right to do that due to ownership. Unless there’s some sort of DT in there which I doubt then this is the only problem once caught. It’s up to the mods there to decide.

If someone wants to do this, it will be a very bad decision for him. The owner of the teleported account will be the same person as the owner of the Bitcointalk account, now if someone sells his teleported account, and if the new owner does any kind of scam, then the owner of the Bitcointalk account is also responsible for the scam because according to the rules, the owner of two accounts is the same. So selling a teleported account on a neighboring forum is the same as creating a path to ruining your reputation on bitcointalk as well.

At the end of the day, you have gotta watch your own back when dealing with strangers online. If you come across someone with a teleported account on the altcoinstalk forum, it is your responsibility to verify that information and confirm that it is indeed the same user as on the bitcointalk.org forum.

I have no idea what's happening on that other forum, but I have a bit different concern than you. If that other forum will be quite active, I think there may be attempts to impersonate Bitcointalk members and use famous name to scam people. Offcourse, it's easy to prove who is who with things like staked address, but not everyone is avare about these things, especially on other forum. So, such things may harm your reputation, you will have to waste explaining that it wasn't you and you will have negative search result about yourself on Google.

That neighbour doesn't have a DT system, there's not even feedback like there is here. It exists, but it is very poorly implemented, so it cannot be considered relevant. So if someone sells their account in the neighbour's yard, it is certainly not part of the problem on Bitcointalk.
Certainly, there are administrators there too, who will react to the report in the case of impersonating someone else's profile from here. It is not particularly complicated if there is evidence and there is a desire to expose such accounts.

I think they may make changes later if the forum continues to grow, but I could be wrong. Admin seems to listen to some of the community suggestions.

Nothing happens.
I dont think anyone would purchase accounts there now, but more interesting for me is what would happen if account gets hacked and stolen there.
Better to look all other forums and profiles there as completely separate from bitcointalk forum, and dont use messages for sharing important private information.

IMO, they're different.
It's the Bitcointalk forum and it's different from the neighboring forum that you meant, so it has different rules and guidelines.  So there's nothing you can do if someone is selling an account on a neighboring forum since they have different rules on each other.

However, if someone selling a Bitcointalk account on a neighboring forum and it's proven here on the forum (with solid evidence) that you own that account, that could be a risk to your reputation.
