I personally won't give any agent chance to ask me to come back later for my money if I win any ticket from them. They can only give you excuses when you demand for cash. This is a regular occurrence in my country and the challenge many physical casinos are facing. Like you said, the problem is not always with the casinos but their agents in the various outlets. There was one an agent eloped with peoples winning giving them excuses that there were too many winnings so the company could not pay at once but at a later date. He used this excuse in buying time until he completed his paper works and traveled abroad with people's winning.

That's a lot of money, the company should compensate the winner if they are a licensed betting platform, then they commit to honor the winning bets, if they fail to do this, their license will be revoked and they will be fined for stealing with their winners. the winner did the right thing in charging them in court it's their money and the government should do its part to give justice to the winner, I hope the winner gets the justice he deserves and the betting company should help the victim to redeem their reputation.

This is from Nigeria based on the court where the trial was held (Lagos state) and the currency used (Naira). Some people work with agents in order to have some direct connections to the gambling platform to make things easier such as withdrawals, deposits, and other account problems however that is not the case here, unfortunately.

Hopefully, though that long of a wait--a month before trial recommences--will give ample time for the defendants to possibly flee the country or go into hiding. If you open the article you will know which country this problem is from, there is a Nigerian flag - Naija I think is from there.

Sometimes there are still people who believe in betting agencies rather than online casinos people still do this a lot without doing practically in online casinos nowadays.

When I read similar stories as this, I being to ponder on why I share the same air with such despicable humans with zero form of humanity in them. How do you bring pain to another human and you still sleep well at night? The perpetrations of these crime are the type of people who if they hadn't tried to rip off the winner through this means, they would have send, armed robbers to his home address to steal the cash from him. Of course that is the kind of risk that individuals who win such huge amount from gambling face. On the other hand, I am glad that this is not a story with a sad ending. That is why is very important to know the kind of betting agent (local betting shop) we are using, and this can likely happen when we are using a traditional way of gambling. I don't think this may likely happened to an online casino where you have to cash out whatever amount you have won provided that you pass kyc.

I'm not 100% certain but I think it happens due to local restrictions for cash transfers.

Some countries are very restrictive and protectionist with how cash moves out of their economy, so people often find agents that have some sort of loophole to transfer cash in and out to do the job for them.
It's for the same reasons that in many countries money mules are a more efficient way to transfer cash than create a bank account, which is only reserved for the elite. It's a weird world we're living in actually.
