People asking about your Bitcoin holdings isn't necessarily about disbelief. It's often genuine curiosity fueled by the novelty and rapid rise of crypto. It's like asking someone who owns a vintage car about its value, even if you don't plan on buying one yourself. The misconception that Bitcoin isn't "real money" highlights a lack of understanding about its underlying technology and potential use cases. It's not just about speculation or get-rich-quick schemes. While volatility exists, so does in traditional markets. The key is to approach it with knowledge and a long-term perspective. Focusing solely on how much Bitcoin someone owns misses the bigger picture. The true value lies in the potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize various sectors, from finance to supply chain management. It's about innovation and exploring new possibilities.

The block chain is the main innovation of Bitcoin. It is the first distributed timestamping system.

I agree with you that normally when people ask others this question “how much bitcoin do you own”, it’s almost always asked without malcontent. I think people ask me this question most often as they simply are just genuinely curious as well as perhaps they are interested in how much “faith” I actually have in Bitcoin. So I hear ya, but that said I think it’s important to stand your ground and explain “I don’t give out my financial information”.

Really, I agree with you. It is not mandatory to disclose how many assets we have to others and there is absolutely no point in telling people online about it. The threat may increase after we tell someone because no one can be trusted. Money is something sensitive and we know that everyone wants it, even a friend they don't need to be told how much we have.

A great advice, I do really think in most cases such questions on our street is likely to expose us to potential attack from advance invaders who would likely want to get through us.

As for those who share this level of privacy with the public most times wants to fill special than others or wants to fill wealthier than others.

Many who ask about this stuff at times do it for fun but not minding the potential risk attached to the owner of the information

Yes, because it's confidential and should be treated with the same level of confidentiality as our salary. Disclosing the number of assets we have to other people is not a good idea. Aside from the potential security threat we might face, there is no benefit in bragging about our investments. It's better to keep it to ourselves and remain silent even if others insist on knowing about it.

People have their reasons, but generally speaking you shouldn’t really go out there flexing your wealth at anyone. The very mistake that these nouveau riche crypto bros who got their first big break commit is to flaunt and flex their money without a care in the world or a care for their safety. They are so intoxicated by the money and the esrnings that they’ve accumulated over time, along with the apparent fame you could get cause somehow every bull run we get a new opinionated crypto guru who happened to know everything there is to know about crypto.  When they could’ve settled with being lowley and remaining on a low profile for the sake of your safety and sanity.

Trist me, as time goes ny you will realize that no amount of wealth could top off prime sense of security. Which you wouldn’t get from telling people you have x amount of bitcoins and you could make them as rich as you.

If someone's bitcoin wallet's privacy about bitcoins is exposed and that bitcoin wallet is connected to a device while traveling on the road or on a long drive, there is a possibility of being attacked by robbers. Moreover, if for some reason an investor gets to know about the wallet in public, then he can be kidnapped and snatched away from the Bitcoin wallet at any time. Moreover, many times if any device is kept in the room then there will be a possibility of that device being stolen. Therefore, an investor's information must always be kept confidential in that it will be protected from fraud.

Actually How sure we are that those who tries to broadcast how much bitcoin they have are literally having that amount when we knew that this forum is full or story teller/making people.
but the thread stands for the right manner to never tell anyone how much you owned bitcoin or even altcoins not unless they are your family and loveones that needs to learn your funds for the future.
because if not we can be target of those who have been waiting for victims.

I just wanted to share a piece of advice that I learned early on from Andreas Antonopoulos (if you don't know whom this is, I highly recommend looking up his YouTube page and watching his videos and or reading his book Mastering Bitcoin) never tell anyone how much bitcoin you have.  Andreas use to say it's not our job to teach everyone we know about bitcoin, letting them know we own some "Let that be my job" he would say.

I see so many people that come around here sharing how much bitcoin they own...don't.  Just like any of your finances such as your portfolio or how much your annual salary is..it's no one's business but your own.  Being transparent about these things can be harmful to you in a multitude of ways.  As an advisor this is something I tell my clients all the time.  Your financial info is private and should always remain that way.  I hate these new social media trends where people walk up to strangers on the street and ask things like "how much do you pay in rent" or "how much money do you make a year"...ignore them!

When it comes to money, income and investments, we should always control ourselves by sharing information with others. We need to keep our things confidential and not all of what we have needs to tell to other people, we don't have to explain or teach them how we achieved what we have now. For me, it's a big deal to protect the important information in our lives because we don't know who the real people to us are, we should always think that not everyone we know is our friend. It's true that it's not our job to educate other people when it comes to bitcoin, let those vloggers provide information and that's better for them to learn their own way to avoid spoon-feeding.

BIG WINNER!
