That wasn't very wise of you but you were lucky. I would say one should always set their limits before they gamble and those limits shouldn't be crossed at any cost. Even if you had more money to be able to commute back to your residence, you shouldn't gamble with what you have not added to your budget initially if you have already lost your budget. It's good that you managed to win, but you could lose as well.
When you talk about cheating, I don't know what you mean by that because as far as I know, someone cannot cheat in a gambling game, unless you are talking about a physical game where it is possible for one to cheat when they are playing against other players.

Well, mine wasn't my last cash actually, it was more like the least amount I had on my bet account, so I tried it for the last time with just two odds I selected from premier League matches that where about to kickoff that evening and surprisingly I won.

You were lucky to win on your last trial but it's not advisable because let's take for instance if your budget was just to spend the money you had with you and you exhausted it with the belief that incase it doesn't play that you're going to sort out your transportation back home by tampering with the money in your account, don't you know that same spirit can persuade you to also gamble more had it been you didn't win on your last trial? I have gambled with my all and won some years back but I will not advise anybody to try that because it is not a good feeling. My mind was up till the end of the game and even after the winning it still took me time to ease my temperature. I don't believe in luck. You win or you lose, that's all there is to it and you are looking extremely naive trying to explain to us that you weren't afraid to bet because you had some money in the bank. It's like justifying having an accident because you were OK and in case you got injured you always had backup money for the doctor, so there was no risk at all. You cannot exactly predict when you will win, so betting on your last card is a big risk and a worthy one, for that matter, because when you do, you might even get lucky when you bet with that money because you win when you didn't expect it. I don't think there is any way you can say you want to cheat in gambling, and if there is, I don't think I know about it, and does that mean you are cheating? will call it survival, which is wrong.  Why won't you be happy for your win? You were just lucky to win because you would have regretted your action if it turned the opposite. As usual, I have a gambling plan that is strictly followed, so I don't usually gamble beyond the money allotted for it. So I have not been in a situation like OP's where I have to risk my transport fare. But I have been blessed to win my last bet on some occasions. Yes, experienced it many times throughout my gambling activities. A week ago I was down already, and I said it will be my last bet, and then my phone went into this usual warning that I have less than 15 % of my battery. I also don't gamble with my last cash. If cash is already running low, it means I have crossed the line and it's time to stop. I don't believe in desperate movements in gambling. To recover money on the last chance seems feasible only on the screens of the movies. For real, the tendency is that we just go completely broken. Taking OP's situation in consideration, I imagine if I had used the last 1$ to gamble and lost it. So I would have to make my way home on foot, as the money for the transport would be already gone. Depending how far I lived, it could be a dangerous endeavour to walk alone on the streets, especially if late at night.

Unfortunatelly, this is the kind of dangerous situation an addicted gambler faces, because he can't control his urges for playing or chasing losses.
