• Remember Malware can creep into any trusted software if you are not cautious of what you download, install or the sites you visit

Those fake apps were common on Google Play store before but now becoming common on App store. The best is to download the wallet from the official site and verify its signature.

Wow cloning an app, that's brilliant. The person who made this idea is smart but there is always a way to expose criminals. But we need to be careful when dealing with money, the scammers have seen how difficult it is to crack the 12/24 word seed phrase and that is why they made an easy way for themselves which is fo you to just put in your seed phrase and then they'll just use it to access the real wallet and steal all your fund there. so now, we must watch closely before even download the app from play store, and before then we must carry out research. This is good advise people need to observe very well not to fall victims to such scammers app that will make some strange things to happen to their wallets and, the most easiest way scammers use to gain good freedom to some people wallets is through their seeds phrase and where you save your seeds phrase which is very important.

 If you can verify that wallet you are about to download from the right source, it will give you confident to use the wallet for many years because all you need to know from the source you have already know them to make the wallet secure in a way scammers cannot have access to your money.

Even on a trusted device, I don't find it convincing to import my wallet to that device, especially when I want to try out the wallet. Instead, I create a total new wallet with the one I just downloaded and use it for whatever I downloaded it for. It's safe not to be copying and pasting your phrase to another wallet as you are exposing your phrase.
 
And aside from using these untrusted wallets from unknown sources on your device, installing them alone poses a great threat to your security as you can't tell what the wallet is capable of or what kind of information it can extract from your device without your permission and knowledge.

When Electrum wanted to update their wallet, they gave an update message thorough the app and I did the up so everything just run smoothly. And you should import your private keys to a well known wallet so that you coins will not lost.

Yeah, electrum is a very reliable wallet though not 100% but however, it is very important to take note of all these information because initially a lot of people were storing their coins on exchanges but due to the current clampdown on Binance have now opened our eyes not to store coins in exchanges thereby people are looking for possible wallets to store their coins of which if they ain't guided properly, it would even lead to more complicated issues so it is important to sort opinion and information from experienced users here like @ legendary Charles-tim, cryptoprenuerBrainboss, igebotz and others because they have been in the system for long so they've gathered a lot of experiences in the crypto world.

Your point is well noted. And I understand every bit of what you said , but the fact still remain that most people will still fall victim expecially the newbies because those expirenced people will not fall for such trap. Like me the easiest way I know the original app in play store is by checking the total number of download and users and also the review. Though the number of the review might not determine the effectiveness of the app but when you look at the original you will see the start rating and howamy million downloads then you can spot the difference.
