Having a stable income is essential in the long run especially for long term holders because there consistency in accumulating bitcoin depends on how stable their income is .

Your statement is not true.

Having a stable income is nice to have, but it is not essential to either getting started or keeping an investment going.

Sure, it is probably better to try to figure out ways to cause yourself to have a steady income rather than having to scramble for jobs and having uncertainties and instabilities in income and/or expenses.

Yet at the same time, each time a person buys bitcoin, he needs to figure out if he has enough discretionary funds so that he is not going to be worried that he is going to need the money that he spends on bitcoin for his basic expensed.. and if he can clearly determine that he has enough money, then he can buy some more bitcoin, whether he does that every week or on some other periodic basis.

We have already discussed that there can be a variety of reasons that guys might have instability in their income and/or in their expenses, and we also discussed that the greater the instability, then the more likely that additional cash backups (or other resources) have to be available to be able to cover basic expenses until the next income comes in... and each time they decide to buy bitcoin, they can consider their income/expense situation and each time they can still decide to buy bitcoin if their determination is that they have enough discretionary funds to cover a bitcoin purchase, and they do not have to have stability in their income/expenses at any of the times that they are making such determination to buy bitcoin.

Sure JJ, Of course, hinting on having a stable income first before starting our investment is never right since it will tend to keep plebs away from starting there investment. Sometimes, we know that income varies due to some reasons, and so, investment can never be possible if someone tends to find a reasonable amount in terms of stable income before he invests. Thus, if an investor is able to find out that he has a Discretionary, no matter the amount, he can actually buy Bitcoin as he can afford.

Like you mentioned, it's okay to have stable income and/or seek for ways to improve your income while investing, but that doesn't mean that we must get there first before investing. We can actually push our investments if we can know that we have a bit of discretionary regardless of income state, highly poor or how big it is.

This subject of discussionse of a better tomorrow and suffer today. If an investor decides to prioritise investing over basic needs or classify investing under basic needs, they’ll sooner find out the consequences than later.
Being intentional about investing is good, but you must first take care of today’s basic needs. Because tomorrow is not certain but today is guaranteed, don’t limit or deprive yourself of your basic needs that it’ll cause you harm and you may never see the future you were investing for.
Yes of course, discussion is very vital and one cant because of the future ahead and later suffer for tomorrow , investors chosen to priorities investment over the primary needs sometimes he wishes to clear his investment under his basic wants, if they can start to find out the problems than trying to convince investors who has already secure his need.
There is what is called scale of preference and opportunity cost in economics and both concept teaches us to put first things first and forego what is temporary and not so important for what is more important. if you are all about the present without paying attention to the future, you might just be alright but at the present and the future but might not go beyond an average person in the society. investing in an asset for it future gain only tells that you discontent about your current financial reality and that you are trying to put out same immediate gain for the sake of the gain you stand to enjoy in the future. for a short sighted person, it might seams unnecessary but in all sense, investing for future sake is the safest way to be better prepared for an uncertain future.
People who try to be intentional about investing in bitcoin is a nice one, but people should first take care of today not tomorrow it is guarantee that tomorrow might not be very friendly to us that embark on bitcoin investment.
And then you have to ask the different forms of what if? what if bitcoin is friendly for an investor in the future? is this not the kind of fear that earlier investors has that stopped them from actually buying bitcoin at the time bitcoin was relatively low? if you plan for the future with the thinking that things will only take a negative turn, there is no way you will ever make an investment of any kind.

we build houses knowing that wars, landslide and different forms of economic reality can affect it negatively in the future but still go about doing them because we know that there are still high chances that it wont affect us. for every investment decision you make, there is a chance that things might go wrong in the future but you still have to invest while being positive about it.

I agree with you sir JJG that having stable income is nice for Bitcoin investors as it will make their DCA strategy to be going smoothly if they can afford discretionary funds but at the same time not having a stable income shouldn't be a reason why you should stop buying Bitcoin. What you need to buy Bitcoin with is discretionary funds, anytime you have it you can decide how much is convenient for you to buy Bitcoin it, if you don't have a discretionary fun there is no need to buy Bitcoin even if you have a steady income.

Your steady income might just be sufficient to only take care of your basic expenses which means that it is not actually a steady income that is the standard before buying Bitcoin, anytime that your income can afford you a discretionary fund that is when you can buy Bitcoin as an investor that understands financial management.

And I agree with this since stable income is nothing if they cannot produce discretionary income from it. Because what actually matter is they can generate a discretionary funds from their income.

Even those people currently have unstable income can invest as long as they check their situation and that extra funds they are using does not affect their needs. maybe at some point having stable income is good, but its not truly essential when it comes on investment.

What matter here is they can determine that they have money to use which is not intended for their essential needs. Then continue to accumulate even if they currently have irregular income flow.

This is the problem people have. They will not not want to buy when the price is low but later want to buy when the price is high. The safest coin to buy right now is bitcoin. If you buy it, it is better not to be checking your wallet balance in dollars. Just leave the coin and be expecting bitcoin to get to $100000. Because the price is falling, some people will panic and sell just like what happened yesterday. Do not do that. Do not sell if you buy even now.

I agree with you but there is something i also want to point out, people make this mistake due to some uncertainty, we all know bitcoin is a good business to invest on, but we should not also forget that it is a market that does not have a fix price. The market fluctuate, and for that reason it is some time very difficult to determine when to buy or sell. In general you must know how to make your decision in taking the risk.

There's no perfect time to buy Bitcoin, you can buy bitcoin the moment your discretionary income (extra cash) is available. You don't need to think of timing the market to buy your first bitcoin or wait for a particular price before you buy if not it will keep you waiting and delay you from buying this precious asset. This is the main reason why you need to buy right away and use the DCA method to grow your bitcoin stash overtime for the future because bitcoin is a long term asset that you need to buy and hodli for ten years or more. With DCA, you buy regularly weekly/monthly irrespective of the market price.

As for selling, you don't need to start thinking about selling as a brand new investor because you don't even an any bitcoin or neither have you accumulated a good size of bitcoin. You need to have a bitcoin target. When you have accumulated your bitcoin target which will take a long time based on how much from your discretionary income you are using to buy bitcoin. It's when you have reached your over accumulation stage that you need to start thinking of selling.

If you want to even sell at that time after maintenance stage, you are to use the sustainable withdrawal method to tap little profit from your bitcoin investment so that, you don't end up selling too many bitcoin too soon and become a low coiner again.

Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after,  the said coin drops in value, or  someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after.
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?

That is were discipline comes in, bitcoin is a business were the market fluctuate, you can not guarantee when it goes up or down but you can discipline yourself on timing. You don't attach emotion on bitcoin market, don't be too quick to make decision, study the market very well.

I can see that you are a newbie in Bitcointalk forum, but I do not think that you're newbie in Bitcoin generally, and even if you're not, I want you to comprehend something here.
If a market doesn't have fixed price as you said, doesn't that make it easy for you to understand that you can buy anytime without waiting, selling is not the thing here because you've to buy and reach your over cumulation before you can talk of what to do with your Bitcoin, whether to sell some, or whatever decision you want to take since it's your investment.

Many intending and existing investors get Bitcoin investment wrong, the market is unpredictable of course that has been a thing for Bitcoin right, if so, why do some investors get worried on when to invest? For me, I think what everyone who's is confused on what to do,  is supposed to do, is to start with the DCA strategy which makes it very easy for anyone to buy at all time consistently with their discreationary income, with this method an investor will not be left out in any market opportunity, no stress, slow and steady and hodl for a long-term.

I think you're explanation is not clear or maybe you are referring to another coins not Bitcoin. Why procratinating in your investment, immediately you have your discretionary income available just go straight to your investment, in that process you will get to know more about it, please don't delay when it comes to bitcoin investment.

You are absolutely wrong when you say that short-term investment allow you to know more about the it, when it comes to bitcoin investment, we all know that anyone who is really ready to invest in Bitcoin must have to hold it for a period of 4 to 8 years, that is when we called that person an investor, but the one you are describing is actually a pure trader, which is going to be a very wrong move when it's comes to bitcoin investment.

I agree with your discipline and control of emotions. However,"study the market very well", I think this term can be a bit confusing for new investors. In my opinion, when it comes to long-term Bitcoin investment, you should focus more on your cash flow, discretionary income, and backup funds than on monitoring the market every day. Because if someone pays too much attention to the market, many people start trying to understand the market movements, which can be a hindrance to long-term Bitcoin investment.
Therefore, in my opinion, a more effective strategy is to create a realistic DCA plan and continue to collect Bitcoin consistently with discretionary income according to your financial capacity. The market will not always be under our control, but our plan and discipline must be under our control. If someone collects Bitcoin with discipline according to his financial capacity, short-term market fluctuations will not affect his decisions. Because his main goal will be to continuously increase the amount of Bitcoin, not to react to every price change in the market.

For investors who want to buy Bitcoin, the market fluctuations have nothing to do with buying Bitcoin. You can buy Bitcoin at any time, and those who try to predict the price of Bitcoin before buying always make mistakes; they find it very difficult to hodl Bitcoin because they seem so particular about the fluctuations in Bitcoin price. It is only when one is planning a short-term investment that one can be concerned about the volatility of when to enter the market, but in a long-term investment, there is no need to target when to enter. If the market is even low, it is an opportunity to buy Bitcoin at a lower price.

The market fluctuate, and for that reason it is some time very difficult to determine when to buy or sell. In general you must know how to make your decision in taking the risk.

If someone wants to invest in bitcoin, they should immediately understand that there is no place for haste and attempts to "sit on all the chairs at once." I understand that many novice investors always want everything at once (buy at the bottom of the bitcoin price and sell at the top), but this does not happen, and every investor who would like to bet will punish the market. I even believe that there are those who will be able to buy once or twice just because of luck, but then this investor will be disappointed. Because investing in bitcoin is a matter of understanding and strategy, which is most surprisingly simple. For example, I regret a little that I didn't know about DCA in my first investments. Although later I intuitively built a similar strategy with periodic purchases.

Bitcoin investment is not only about whether you have a perfectly income, financial situation is also part of investment. because even someone with irregular income can also build bitcoin position that is if they handle their finances very well. Is all about managing your finances very carefully and perfectly know how to move away from funds needed for basic needs. A investors who plan for long term should always making a decisions base on their discretionary income, that will keep them engaged continuously is more important than simply having stable income without proper arrangement.

Bitcoin is a business where you must take a risk if you want to make profit.
but you must also be sensitive by making your decision, short time investment can help you reduce the risk and plan
better  again, short time investment also gives you the opportunity to study and understand the market very well.

Read what you typed again and ask yourself if it make sense?
FYI Bitcoin is not a “business”, it is a long term asset. If you cannot get something this simple correct, then you shouldn’t be giving investment advise.

Bitcoin fluctuates short term, so those traders relying on price speculation end up losing money because they’re after quick profit. Long term holding has always made more sense because you don’t need to time the market while accumulating and building wealth. You don’t learn about Bitcoin by chasing short term price movement, but by understanding the risks, managing your finance well, and holding over time

It is true that Bitcoin has no fixed price. But this does not mean that a long-term investor should decide when to buy or sell. The main goal of an investor is not to sell, but to gradually save with his discretionary income and not to guess the market. "When to buy or sell" such questions create a market timing mentality. This is not consistent with the concept of investing.

If you are a long-term saver, your question should be, how much discretionary income do you have, how long can you hold it, how much can you withstand a decline in price. It is not an attempt to know for sure where the price will go in the future.

Someone may have held cash for 6 months waiting for the price to fall. But if the price of Bitcoin rose 50 percent in those 6 months and then fell 20 percent, then the decline he was waiting for may have been longer than the time he started waiting.

The Bitcoin market is always fluctuating. Trying to keep yourself in line with the market conditions can backfire on you. For example, if you want to trade, you will not have a clear idea of where to start. Your goal will be to buy the dips but since the market is always moving, you will literally not know which dip is which.

The DCA method for long term Bitcoin accumulation keeps you in a constant position regardless of the price. For example using discretionary income to accumulate Bitcoin in line with your income. Building an emergency fund so that you do not have to withdraw your Bitcoin holdings in case of an unexpected situation. It is important to plan in advance how long you will be involved in the regular DCA method because having a clear goal can help you reach that predetermined over accumulation point. Commit to a 4-10 year Bitcoin target.

I don't know why you think Bitcoin is a business. It sounds strange. If you present Bitcoin as a business, the objectives of an investor and a trader or a short-term trader may become the same. You need to know a little more that Bitcoin is not a business. Rather, Bitcoin is an asset that someone can hold for the long term to strengthen their position, and someone can also trade using short-term price fluctuations. But the risks and objectives of the two activities are never the same.

You are wrong in thinking that taking a short-term position reduces risk. Rather, short-term profit plans can often lead to wrong decisions. And wrong decisions can often lead to the same person repeatedly selling low and buying high. You don't need to turn your investments into short-term tests to learn the market. If you are a new investor, you can buy with discretionary income, excluding all your necessary expenses. In this way, you will learn about real price declines, price increases, and your own emotional reactions. But don't be forced to buy and sell at every price change.

Your steady income might just be sufficient to only take care of your basic expenses which means that it is not actually a steady income that is the standard before buying Bitcoin, anytime that your income can afford you a discretionary fund that is when you can buy Bitcoin as an investor that understands financial management.
without a stable source of income it will be very difficult for an investor to be consistent with bitcoin accumulation. However, those without a stable income can still invest in bitcoin provided they have discretionary income to invest with. So , not having discretionary should not stop anyone that has figured out their discretionary income not to invest in bitcoin. Having a stable income is essential for maintaining or for an investor to be able to sustain their bitcoin investment in the long run. As much as an investor can start accumulating bitcoin without having a stable source doesn't mean we should neglect the importance of stable income for long term bitcoin investment.

You’re very correct,  in long term bitcoin investment, I think consistency and discipline is more  crucial than trying to study how the market movement works. When beginners hear about studying the market accurately, many will keep checking the price every minutes and they will even end up trying to predict the next pump. Which can often lead them to emotional decision rather than smart investing.

The best approach is to focus more on your cash flow, and only invest with your discretionary income. The market Will always go up and down and nobody can be able to control it. If you’re consistent, and your plan is solid  short term prices won’t change your confidence in anyway.  The main goal should be to consistently increase your bitcoin holdings over time, not to react to every market movement.
