There is a difference between a short and long gambling break. I don't spend so much time on gambling because I also have other activities that take my time. However, I take my break during half-time if it is a sports bet, especially football games. Since I have a gambling plan, I immediately stop betting when I exhaust my budget for the day or weak. This is a question I believe will attract alot of different individuals answers since we all are not the same, and are not gambling in the same capacity, and for the same reasons.
Some are gambling with money they can't really afford to lose, which means that, once the loose that money, they either stop gambling out of shock and disbelieve, and regret the mistake they have made, or continue to gamble in hopes of recovering back the money.

In my case I deposit money every time because I don't keep any funds in casinos for more than a day, so the moment I stop at a loss is the moment I have no more bankroll.
I don't understand people who deposit more than they're willing to lose and then have to set up stops that they later ignore and get depressed and suicidal over it. That's a self-destructive behavior.
When it comes to wins, I usually get that warning sign when I double my money, so if it's a joke of a bet of like $5 or something and I double it, it doesn't count, but if I come to a casino with $100 and I now have $200, that's the moment when I give up for the day and leave. Sometimes I break this rule and make one last bet, but with no more than 10% of all my money and see if this is some lucky streak. Regardless of the outcome that's the last bet and I take the money after that last checkup.
