Are you trying to say that to qualify for the airdrop, you need to give a tip? It seems like this isn't a legitimate airdrop because they're asking for money. In a genuine airdrop, you typically just need to complete a task to promote their project, and in return, they'll give you the airdrop. If what you're saying is true, it's better to just avoid or ignore the airdrop because it's likely not legitimate. Binance is known as a respected and trusted exchange by many, so it's possible that scammers are copying the binance website, and the website you opened is likely a phishing site.
First make sure the Binance site uses SSL and states that it has a valid site certificate.
because many phishing sites are found which are exact copies of the main website. Moreover, Binance is the largest crypto market in the world. So it is very possible that many fraudsters use this method to deceive their victims.

For me, I feel it's not genuine or legit though most airdrop usually ask
or request for some small small things but I can't actually tell for sure that it's not legit rather, that's what I feel. If what they are asking is not compulsory you can skip it, like I said earlier there are small small thing they use to ask of, check those small small things and fill up but if you think they can't scam you with the tip no issues too.

It’s a scam. That’s how I have programmed my mind. If something looks too good to be true, I see it as 99% scam. The remaining 1% is benefit of doubt. Are you sure you did not see this on Binance Square? Because that’s where people make post of whatever they wish. If you saw an announcement by Binance themselves then it’s definitely 100% legit.

Honestly, I have never participated in this kind of exchange airdrop. but if you are in doubt you don't need to participate in it, and if you think this is a scam you don't need to participate in it. Moreover, why do you say this is a scam? Is it because the prizes given are meme coins or because of the conditions for participating in the airdrop?

Probably you've seen this on a post that's below the home page of the app. I mean if you scroll down further more, you will see some posts coming from different people. It's like Facebook where you can make a post there but now it's being done inside an exchange.

As for the "airdrop" that you saw, I'm thinking that it's a scam that you can easily avoid with. I mean why will you give money to somebody that you isn't sure if they will really airdrop the tokens. As for Binance tolerating this, they aren't promoting it because they can't control what others are doing... or they can since it's their exchange. Whatever the reason is, scammers will do everything to attract newbie investors. Just avoid this OP.

One thing more is that, it isn't amazing at all especially if you will give a "TIP" to them. Cheesy

I didn't found the news article you mentioned and it have been a month so that could have been buried under posts but in general, what we must understand is Binance news articles are created by normal users like you and me and that has nothing to do with Binance. You can compare it with this forum. There could be too much scam attempts, there are some degree of moderation but it could take time or totally be missed by moderators. Everything you view should be taken in consideration and researched by yourself. Something too good to be true are generally not.

Indeed, if you feel that way then better not to participate first of all if you don't trust whoever offers it then you are just
wasting your time and your efforts in case you join on it.

Plus, if you think it's just a scam then you are only risking yourself, better to stay away and not to participate.

Just curious if what's the reason why he thinks it's only a scam, what's the basis of his claim?

Actually airdrop is one of the best and easiest way to get free tokens but let's discuss how the value of those tokens will be. There are hundreds of tokens sitting in my wallet that i got from airdrops but no value waiting to be sold. However currently there are different forms of airdrops where you can complete a lot of tasks and get paid 1-2$. Moreover most of the airdrops seen from social media are fake and a difficult step for scamming.

You need to be extra careful since airdrops are really showing from side to side and it's difficult to determine whether the project
will give some decent amount or it will be just a waste for you.

No one really can conclude since there are some who manage to make money by just doing this kind of offer and be lucky to
take part with those who really sharing some decent amount.

Though there are some and there are lots who will just try to scam you and chance to hack your wallet better to review
all the possible resources before continuing.

I don't know of any such airdrop promotion but if you could share that link it would be worth learning. As far as I know there is no such scam being promoted in Binance but it is not promoted by Binance or someone else got the news if there is any source there would be a good solution to this issue. But for those who regularly participate in airdrops, airdrops carry deadly risks. As much as possible one should not join airdrops without a legit project. Currently there are a large number of airdrops coming and taking all of the customer's money through fraud. Keeping yourself safe requires having a good sense of what is legit and what is not.

i am more distrustful of this post because an exchange as big as binance would not promote such a thing. You should explain in more detail about the airdrop or you should include a screenshot in your post because there is a high possibility of misunderstanding the terms and conditions of the airdrop. I have been using this exchange for 5 years and in my opinion Binance is the best and most trusted exchange. Apart from that, I have never seen Binance promote anything suspicious like what you mean.

I have a binance account and I don't see this kind of airdrop. People should be aware of the scams that are too good to be true. Please do not believe in a lie that you're seeing because they look legitimate. And with such an amount, you're required to pay.

I check in the history of my finance account and I don't see anything like that. Maybe some copy cat of Binance he's opened and thought it was real.

It's probably a marketing trick, it's worth a mil yes, but it's distributed over across every participant in the airdrop, which can easily number to over a million in most cases, so most people wouldn't be getting that much. You'd be lucky if you got something over $50 really. As for it being a scam, if it's free then yea most likely. If it's not, and you gotta do something, I'd believe it isn't. In general I try to avoid getting stuff downloaded when it comes to airdrops, if it were to say, tweet something, do a survey or whatnot sure, scam or not you'd honestly be safe imo, but if it includes putting something inside my computer from the internet, pass.

You are right, the rewards of a project are tempting, so much sweet news that many airdrops are legit with a large amount and easily become an attraction, everyone who hears will try to learn, unfortunately there are many scammers lurking from various aspects. some do not pay from rewards, especially TGE, there are also other criminal attacks on the wallet. I research only a few dapps that I am interested in. Unlike if there is an event like cex (binance/bybit) I think it is safer, and the rewards that can be obtained are usually reasonable. It's better to be reasonable with what is offered unless DYOR with new dapps is a risk and choice.

To be honest, I have never participated in an airdrop held through Binance, but one thing that we can use as a benchmark for whether it is a legit airdrop or a scam is when there is an order to send money, no matter how small, the money must be sent, even if the reason is for the network fee that's not normal, because as far as I know, a legit airdrop is just telling participants to do certain tasks instead of sending money, I mean if you want to get money for free you shouldn't have to send money first because that's already suspicious, so be careful because many fraudsters take advantage of this opportunity to gain profits in ways that are not usual to get airdrops but because airdrop hunters are not careful or are too greedy to get money so they don't try to find out first.

I check in the history of my finance account and I don't see anything like that. Maybe some copy cat of Binance he's opened and thought it was real.
If people are being fooled like this then maybe scammers are becoming too good.

Maybe op saw an ad somewhere and thought it was legitimate. Let us practice literacy skills and put them to good use. In such times where fake news is prevalent, let us be more aggressive in fighting them instead of trying to spread them. A little common sense will have you thinking about whether this airdrop is legitimate or not.

Not everything on the internet is real and we should not contribute to the spreading of said fake news

I was juts scrolling through Binance new and I saw an airdrop from Pepe coin worth over 1 million dollar and I clicked on it to see how I can participate in this amazing airdrop as I read through i saw that this airdrop to participate in it I needed to send them a tip and I was wondering if Binance now promotes scam or if this is ledgit, does anyone have experience with this or should i bail.

This is not an airdrop from Binance since there’s no way Binance will create an airdrop that requires tip from participants.

Recently, Binance already have the feed feature which any user can publish post such as this scam airdrop to lure people on participating with this scam airdrop. Binance feed is full of scam post which Binance doesn’t moderate.

Binance feed is like social media but of the post there is not reliable because scammer is using it to scam compared to the actual content creator sharing valuable post.

As far as I know, if you want to take part in the airdrop, you don't need to give any tips. If I find it, it's better for me to skip it and not participate in the airdrop project, be careful with fraud because there are many ways for fraudsters to get your money

Yeah you must have seen that airdrop post in binance feed and not in the official binance page. You can find lots of such nonsense and scam things in such feed. Anyone so called influencers can create such posts. Don't fall into it. You can also find such things in twitter too. If binance conducts such event officially, they would do/send it directly into your binance account if you were eligible by holding funds there.

Hate to admit it but they've been good to the new ones, they're ignorant and no idea how their tactics are being done and that's why they're always the ones that are prone to their scamming. What we can do is to remind them to be vigilant at all times because there is no one that can help us but each other and applying what we've learned from the others. While there are so many airdrops nowadays, that's also another advantage for them to ride on to have more victims.
