Hello bitcoiners!

Let's say I want something like this http://www.shapeways.com/model/302649/laptop.html

But of smaller size. Is that possible? I'm on a very tight budget but I'd like to see if I can get 32-160 of these laptops -- in green plastic -- 10mm wide, instead of 20mm, other dimensions scaled on the same aspect ratio.

Can someone give me a thumbs up and a price tag?

If it is for a flimzy prototype it is possible, but if you a real laptop structure, the average public FDM 3D printer will not work you won't get anything close to the requirement for a laptop casing, look towards industrial grade 3D printing but then again it's not worth it if you are just going to have a basic model if it is for a unique model then it can be intereseting

I suggest you to go for machining something out of aluminum + 3D FDM Printed isolation splits and what's not inside that sound more intereseting I believe.

I don't care about the details, just the structure.
It doesn't even have to open and close, I just need 10mm laptop figures Grin

Ah well that can be easly done, and as for price to get an estimate and if you have your cad model done, just check the weight when you choose ABS or some FDM plastic, and then check the price of FDM Filament and you'll have a rough estimate of material cost and add on top of that a reward for the effort energy and time to make the object
