I'm always wondering how an addiction starts for everyone because I'm sure that we have different experiences with gambling that will contribute to an addiction. Frequently gambling is one of the most common reasons why a player gets addicted. So I'm thinking before you become involved in frequent gambling behaviour what is the sign that you notice that you are doing when you gamble?

Mine is I always check my wallet balance to check my current profit then place a small bet without any reason just to gamble and increase my profit. This makes me gamble frequently because of the greediness to earn more until I become hooked and worst is when I lose everything on a bad day.

I do not gamble frequently and I am not having any sign of addiction because I just gamble during weekends and sometimes I do not gamble throughout the week. What I can easily use to know if I am gambling too much is if I go beyond my gambling budget but I do not go beyond my gambling budget.

Most people start gambling for fun but also that majority is the one to start gambling because they want to make more money,if you look for example in the chat of many reputable casinos you will see a common saying which is "Oh how I hate being so poor" and for me this is the main reason people fall into addiction.They want to overcome that sense of being poor,they want to have better phones,cars,houses and the illusion that they can get them easily with gambling is exactly what makes them to keep gambling until they see that they have become addicted.

The thing is to consider if gambling has ever caused issues to you.
Missed out on events due to gamblign too much? Be it time or money wasted? Did you miss out on your payments? Did you come under financial hardship? If the answer to any of these questions are yes or maybe then you are becoming addicted.

That's why we keep saying that you have to put limits on your habit even before the signs appear. Calculate how much you put in on a weekly basis and be serious with this task. Take it seriously before addiction catches up to you. If you catch yourself trying to spend more than your limits then you might be saved.

My sign of having an early gambling addiction is when I’m playing gambling on ungodly hour because I’m excited to play or I’m having good time on my previous gambling. This kind of sensation makes me want to gamble more without choosing the right time.

Psychologically no one will notice that they are going into addiction, even if they are already addicted, they wont admit that they are addicted.

Mine used to be the failure of trying to think of something else other than gambling. That is the preoccupation with gambling thought. Looking forward to your next gambling act. Brooding over gambling. Day dreaming, Whatever you choose to call it. This was the sign for me that made me take a long break from it. And I am sure glad I did because it would have graduated from bad to worse and then terrible. Please we should gamble responsibly and do not be afraid to seek for help or take breaks from gambling before it spirals out of our control.

I think the best sign of it is you starting to encounter a lot of problems, like financially I mean if you have control over it you should not experience any kind of issues or problems playing since you have it under your control your gambling on money that you could afford to lose, I mean even though you lose the game you know your limitations and it's still a calculated risk whatever happened and still entertainment is still on the goal here not just profit.

If you are experiencing financial issues, you are getting frustrated, your chasing your losses or probably your doing things that are not really your thing like for example your running away from your home just to do gambling, you are canceling your work or your career so that you could do gambling it seems not right for sure, Its a pretty good indication or sign that you are getting addicted to gambling, and I think if you are getting addicted to gambling you're surely gonna know it, if I'm addicted to like cigarette I know it on myself that I'm addicted to it, I just cant stop myself to do it, surely most of the addicts wanted to stop but they just cant, its gonna need a long progress, at least some kind of program in order to cure addiction it's already better to seek professional help in order to cure addition.

That's the sign of early addiction, the opposite is not, because if you keep checking your losses than your profit, that means you are aware that anytime you need to stop to minimize your losses. On the other hand, if you keep checking your profit, you'll eventually get upset in the losing streak and that might make you decide to chase your lossees with huge bets until you lose your entire bankroll. Worst thing might happen too is despite your bankroll is empty, you will decide to top up just to get back in the game to win back your losses, you know when the emotion is high you tend to make bad decisions and that's already an addiciton, especially if it happened multiple times already.

I have target limit amount that is always consistent every time it comes to gambling, I gamble not every day but only once week except when my favorite football team is playing then that is extra time to watch and bet on it.
My limit has never been more than $30 per week and this has been going on for the past few months so that when my use of money has reached or exceeded that limit I will immediately stop because addiction is very dangerous condition.
Moreover, I have experienced addiction and have had bad experiences with the effects of gambling addiction, so for now I will be much more careful and don't want everything to happen again.
Anyone who still has awareness and a normal mind can definitely realize this and understand how gambling addiction can start, but unfortunately there are still very few gamblers who care about it.

Actually you have answered your question, namely one of them is greed that appears to you which will lead to gambling addiction, all the average people become addicts because of greed in addition to chasing losses but chasing losses after several large defeats, but greed can be triggered when you get a big win with a small capital or your profit is many times your capital, so that when you are not playing gambling, you think that what if I use more money to gamble maybe I will get a bigger profit, and that initial thought is what turns you into a gambling addict.

What I notice about people gradually becoming gambling addict is that they gamble frequently like never before, they often talk more about how they dreamt of winning big and all there talks must be all about gambling. They find casino hall more accommodating than staying at home. They keep late nights,  they take unnecessary risk of using there salary for gambling and find a way of lieing to there wife. Infact there are numerous ways of noticing about gambling addiction before I get worst.

OP, as a gambler, you should know when you have began to get addicted to gambling because you alone would first detect when you have started gambling beyond your budget and time. People do not really detect your gambling addiction fast but only when it has gone beyond control that is when they know and by then it is already too late because you as an individual have known this for long and decided to keep it to yourself.

At first you begin to exceed your gambling time and budget that is the time you put for yourself to leave the casino house or logout online and also another thing you should note when you are getting addicted is that you gamble beyond your budget per gamble time or game. You are definitely not the only one in this and this is the way gambling addiction start for every gambler who have not been able to get of their addiction, losing and chasing it back is the debacle as a gambler addict.

Of course if a gambler can see what will befall him in his next game, the falls and failure that will automatically change his course of gambling, he would not want to continue the next game and this is because it starts from there. When you lose, you become restive and sometimes annoyed on your losing probably because you think it was a narrow lose then you want to try next game believing you will succeed. So addiction always starts from pushing too hard to win back.

From my perspective.

Starting a loan + hurting your self while losing is already indicates you are getting a gambling problem, my biggest advice for everyone. Started to telling the truth with someone you are really closed and ask their help.

Mostly like, manage your financial income for the spending you are needed at least 3-6 month (passed without doing gambling).

The good thing is you noticed it. That means you are aware of what is happening so you are still good to go. Those who cannot even determine if they are getting addicted or not are in the worst position.
You can still stop it, I do believe that. Now, all you have to do is try to control the urge to play. It doesn't mean stopping in one snap. You could always try to find other things to keep you entertained and for me, sports betting had been a good way to control those urges. When I bet on sports these days, that's it for me. I won't be looking for another game like a casino or slot because I have already spent a good amount of money on sports. It means I will have to rest and wait for the results the next day. After that is the possibility that I might play casino games but when the game is available again, I will stop.
This way, I am controlling the amount of money that I spend in casino games and also the time.
