Frequency of it can be a sign but it can be also a sign of handling your finances so that you afford to play more frequently. Not all addicts are same and there are very different ways people get addicted. Some aren't causing much harm, so people ignore it as a normal behavior, and some of them have devastating effects. You can be addicted and not gambling because you just can't afford it anymore and there's nothing in your budget to take cash for gambing. And then at the pay day you can spend it all immediately.

However if you find a pattern or a sign in your behaviour that tells you, that you might be addicted, don't ignore it. You don't immediately have to act on it if you are doing ok, but keep that as a data point for your mind, when you are reflecting your behavior later on. Sometimes, going beyond your budget is another way to test and over stretch your luck and based on that you may get lucky to win big when you over stretch your budgets and should not be seen as addiction since most times you can control yourself and still go above your weekly budget at times and still be fine, being able to control your spending even when you are on an increase budget on temporary bases shouldn't classify as gambling addiction.

Gambling addictions is way ahead and different in nature because of it forces on the victims, because some of the gambling addicts are poor and sometimes can't afford they next bet, but yet will case the urge until the act in wird manner sometimes.

Well I will share a little of my experience and knowledge about the signs of addiction as you asked here, which I think is quite easy because the signs of addiction can start when someone has started to feel more interested in gambling especially when they manage to get a win in their gambling session, I'm not talking about fun and excitement because usually something that more often makes someone addicted is when they manage to get money in any case, and maybe this can also be another reason why you keep your job, namely because you get money as a salary for the sweat you have put in.

Excessive interest in gambling can make a person ignore many other aspects that are actually something that should be prioritized such as management, control and boundaries, and also excessive interest can make it difficult for a person to ignore any time not to gamble, the point is in my opinion you can find out about whether you have signs that will lead to addiction or not, namely by identifying your gambling activities, if for example you find that lately you feel more interested in gambling and it is difficult to ignore any time not to gamble then that means you have started to enter the signs that will eventually lead to addiction.

I am not a gambling addict as well as I only gamble everytime I have spare money from my salary, when there’s none then I don’t have reason to gamble. However, if ask about early signs of gambling addiction, based on what I’ve seen from my friends, I can say that they’re always having shortage in their money, because they used it up to feed their gambling urge. Also, they’re always interested about gambling topics and that it could make them instantly rich in the future.
