I got a notification on the Telegram bot that my account was banned, but after I opened Bitcointalk everything was fine. Is this also part of April fools?

In recent years, it seems that a lot of people have been making low-value posts just to get paid. To address this, I've added a merit "cost" to posting: from this point forward, for every 15 characters you post, you will lose one Merit point. This should eliminate any incentive to make low-value posts.

Any halfway-decent poster should be able to earn much more merit than they lose due to the penalty. But I recognize that some good posts are occasionally overlooked. So to counterbalance the penalty, I also added a system whereby you will earn a bit of merit just by reading posts. If you want to write a lot, you'd better do some reading as well!

For both the penalty and the bonus, this applies only to your merit score, and does not affect sendable merit (sMerit).

Let me know what you think of these adjustments.

Check the Bitcoin Talk Notification bot notification and see that my account has been banned.  I did not understand why I was punished so much, so without doing anything, I entered the profile and saw that my account is fine.
But I checked the date in the notification bot and saw that April 1 means today may be a special day

First shocked by TryNinja. When I read in the Telegram Bot you banned. My heartbeat was on peak and I just open the link and check what is the reason but after that. I was thinking this is Moye Moye haha.

After that I made a post and look at the merits and just think ohhhh! Not everytime...!

That's fine thermos; especially if I can have the merits deducted from my Source Merits and not the big earned merit stash I've been accumulating for The Great Merit War / Merit Armageddon.

I'd also like to make a suggestion where anyone can subtract a merit on anybody's post by destroying 10 of their own sMerits. Ideally I'd also like to use my Source Merits for that purpose but would settle for having to use my earned merits.

Thanks for once again proving you are continuing to innovate and Make Bitcointalk Great Again -- every April 1st you manage to come up with some brainbuster of an idea and we all appreciate how such ideas have helped grow the Greatness of the forum over the years.
