Selling all your Bitcoin to purchased altcoin is not a good ideal OP, because I know that if you hold your Bitcoin for five years you hold your LTC before you can sell,  I think the income you made from your LTC assume it is Bitcoin would have be more higher than that amount of income because many potential investors know what Bitcoin can bring in five years time. LTC is a good altcoin that has potential teams that is working every night and day to ensure they continue to increase the numbers of their investors by making them to always embrace favour from their investment. It's bad since you are a little shrimp but you buy litecoin which didn't have good volatility. If i were you then i will try to focus on RWA token which potentially to be the next trend since blackrock has announced its tokenized. It means that you will be massive companies to go through tokenization asset in the future.
Litecoin will not give you instant money and you needs to perform it even better. Think about that. The better if you are investing on the token which has lower marketcap compared to the litecoin. Just try to understand that if you are willing to get maximum profit and you shall take the risk.

LTC can be one of the coin in your portfolio but making it as your primary coin for long term isn't good choice, LTC didn't grow to it's potential and now there are lot of coins defeated the purpose of LTC's existence. It's good that you made profits but I recommend you to concentrate towards BTC for long term investment and altcoins only for short to mid term.

It is not a bad move but it is one I think it is a little premature, there is still a lot of room for bitcoin to grow, and during that time bitcoin will outperform most altcoins, so even if at during that time you were making profits in fiat, if you were to check how much litecoin you may need to buy the same amount of bitcoin, you will realize that you are in fact losing ground against bitcoin, so you will have to endure until the altcoin season finally starts and we see a reversal of that situation.

Bitcoin halving will happen, and we may see the impact immediately or even for a long time. no problem with your plans. but just try to look and take advantage of moments that might occur soon to gain profits.

Why choose slow performing litecoin than bitcoin? As we are approaching bitcoin halving for sure there's more to see from bitcoin itself. Any decision that involves selling shit meme coin to a project with real utility in crypto space is good. Litecoin is one of the OG blockchain in crypto that is hard fork on Bitcoin. Converting your asset from Shib which pump a lot already to Litecoin is a good move since  LTC still has a lot of potential to pump more in the future because this project is for long term unlike meme coin that doesn’t have an end goal.

Maybe focus on Ethereum if you are looking for forward for an ETF approval since it’s the closest project to receive an ETF. The rest will just follow when Eth ETF approved.

First of all he may have misunderstood the memecoins market and how short term targeted their are and also for the fact that majority of them are just without any back up for liquidity provisions that will sustain their long term feature for that, any investment in them should not exceed an short term based.

Litcoin is not a memecoin haha, also shib is definitely a memecoin but I didn't sell my btc for shib. I used $250 of my own money to buy it and it went to around 680.

So it better to hold steady and patiently besides, the ETF approval of Litecoin as you said is still very far from now, so selling Bitcoin or any other trustworthy coin to buy Litecoin that has been existing for years but don't have the capacity to be listed among the first top 10 coins.

Sentimentally, I think LTC should do well considering that it's still way below its ATH. If you allow me to make a prediction here, I think it will do up to $400+. At the moment, the price of LTC is disappointing anyway. I bought a few of it a few days to its current halving around $84 or so in expectation that price would fly like what we've known Bitcoin for. Surprisingly, price dipped after its halving even till date. If it ever has an ETF in the future, it may (just saying) not push price up like a Bitcoin ETF did. You're doing well, honestly and you can keep doing that this time while the market is in the bullish condition. But in asking if Litecoin is worth investing in, I would say YES. Not in a state that we consider this as the best option to take but granting that this project has been in the market for many years and still performing well, you will never regret it rather than buying shitcoins.

When I read the title that OP sold his Shiba for LTC, I had no issues with that. But as I opened the body of the thread, I discovered that he also sold his bitcoin to acquire LTC. Litecoin is promising but not comparable to bitcoin that have dominated grounds. Bitcoin is important, I've bagged good amounts of bitcoin because I'm set to smile when the bull season comes. If you already have made your own research then have pride to take the risk because it's your own money and you have the full authority where to invest it. we can only give you suggestions but if you already finalized your decision, make it happen and be one of those unique investors who whatever happens in the crypto market, you are ready to risk it all and wait for that long period to make your dream investment come true. im not really so sure with litecoin honestly its low market cap is with a reason its an old coin that people don't really look into when they are trying to invest, same case with other coin that are formerly in the top 5 but tanked and then decreased in ranks there's always rotation for the top ranked coin as the seasons change so litecoin don't really have that much potential as you might think it have or at least thats from my point of view.

Selling Bitcoin for Litecoin according to me is a bad decision. You could have sold the meme coin to buy Litecoin and you would have gained the same profit. I can't support this enough. This is a great idea and you made the right choice. Shiba is something that would be good for just a while, Litecoin is something that will be great until crypto world ends one day and I bet that our life would not be enough to see that, I bet that we are going to end up seeing it go on until we die. I don't want to speculate whether it was the right decision or not. Because the OP definitely has his own mature and well-managed interests. Litecoin, it is one of the old coins which is still surviving even amidst the onslaught of new coins or tokens emerging. It's just that, indeed, the price increase is not too significant. Indeed, the fundamentals are good, the use cases are also good. However, currently there are quite a lot of competitors. Because of this, LTC's ranking also dropped further.

Well, I'm wondering why you ask this question since you have been holding LTC for 5 years. Because for that long, it was impossible if you didn't have faith and trust in this project. Of course, I won't say that is a good option to sell Shiba for Litecoin but it was you who could decide in the first place. As an investor, we already know the right thing to do and if you think that buying more LTC is an earning opportunity and believing this will grow in the future, then do it.

It's bad since you are a little shrimp but you buy litecoin which didn't have good volatility. If i were you then i will try to focus on RWA token which potentially to be the next trend since blackrock has announced its tokenized. It means that you will be massive companies to go through tokenization asset in the future.

Since you sold your bitcoins and with that money you invested in an altcoin I would not make such a decision if I were you. Because you will hold the investment for a longer period of five years, it is better to hold on to Bitcoin than Litecoin. But you decided to sell $690 shib and invest in more LTC is a good decision because I think investing in lite coin is less risky than meme coin. Currently bitcoin has a lot of appreciation and hope to reach another high in the future, in that case I would put all my money in bitcoin. Litecoin is a good altcoin but not an altcoin that can give you many profits as Shiba Inu would had. Shiba is risky than Litecoin and it is due to that high risk that the reward is also high. Litecoin can get an ETF in the future but that won't make the price to give you Shiba Inu kind of return due to the popularity that Shiba Inu has. Litecoin is a good coin, but SHIBA is a meme coin and meme coins do not have good fundamentals. Your choice is correct by moving your assets to Litecoin. I don't think that it is a better decision to sell your bitcoin to buy another coin because every coin possess a potential risk but risk in bitcoin is not as higher as that of the altcoins. Why LTC? If you are investing in an altcoin then there are plenty of other projects where money is flowing. What LTC can give, you can expect a similar return from bitcoin as well. So it is better to hold btc than ltc in my opinion. If you want to be exposed to the altcoin market then it will be better to invest in new altcoin project because most retail investors want to invest in new project for short term profit. TBH, Litecoin has been one of the coins that remained on the top for a very long time, but it's very silent, and not being talked online.
Unlike many meme coins out there, no one is talking about Litecoin and to be honest, I've been thinking of holding some Litecoin for long-term, but I completely forgot it already, and I invested into other altcoins.

Well, Litecoin like other altcoins out there will pump on it's price during the bull run, but with how unpopular it is, I don't think that it will surpass it's past ATH of ~$400. I don't know if there's some development or some added features to that coin anymore, but if you're looking for a coin that's considered "established", Litecoin can be that coin. I mean it has been at the top for a very long time already. The only problem is because of it's unpopularity (IMO), it's place at the top in terms of market might slowly go down like what happened with other coins such as EOS, IOTA, and others.

Does Litecoin have a future? I don't know because I didn't heard any upgrades on the project, or I might be wrong and they're working in silence to the point that nobody is talking about them anymore. I guess if you want for a short to mid term profit for the upcoming bull run, Litecoin isn't a good choice, but if you're in for long-term, Litecoin is a good coin to hold, but there are other projects that I find better to hold in the long run like Ethereum.

Maybe you are new to the world of cryptocurrency, I do not know, but swapping your SHIB for LTC is not a smart idea in my opinion. At most, you should have just bought a small amount of LTC. I must say that I was so particular about the LTC years back but when I carefully studied it, I realised that it is good for sending and receiving money and not for investment. Not that the investment will not be yielding with it but it can't yield as some more volatile coins/tokens would. If you compare how SHIB and LTC behaved since mid-last year till now, you should be able to know enough about what is happening and what will happen in the future.

And during the altcoins season judging by the past, the coins and tokens like memes are powerfully moving up. This is what I believe should be your primary target, and not just for doubtful investment and ETF reasons. The ETF we are even talking about can't be as impactful for any coins again as it did for Bitcoin last year. This is why I believe that it would make sense if we could just let it be, there isn't really any reason for it to grow any differently. Litecoin should consider what we have as normal and not really make anything that grows any differently, we need to just make it work that way.

Litecoin is good and should not be something that could risk anyone. You are free in your investment decisions, and honestly, Bitcoin is one of the most important currencies that you should have kept in your wallet. However, it is good that you made a profit from LTC. As for me, I prefer Ethereum and Solana over LTC, as they have a higher potential for growth, but this does not mean that LTC is a bad currency.  It's also a good currency, and the market and supply and demand dynamics determine its future. Shib is a shit meme coin so there are no potential future here. LTC is backed by bitcoin fork and Litecoin is a very old coin and it has been in the market for many years with a good value. Afterall, it was still a meme coin so what can we expect? But even a non-meme coin and a top coin like ETH is said also to be pre-mined. Despite of it, they are still there, doing a good job. Didn't knew that LTC had a greedy founder but in fairness, his coin is not bad. Maybe he still have a coin or he bought again. Others can do a similar act too but it's not a big deal since we know it can always recover. LTC is old, popular, cheap and fast, no wonder why many people use it more, than the others.

Shib is a shit meme coin so there are no potential future here. LTC is backed by bitcoin fork and Litecoin is a very old coin and it has been in the market for many years with a good value. Although LTC is not seen to be pumped very fast, it also has no record of being dumped quickly.  LTC can be a very safe investment if you are thinking of investing here for the long term. Panic always hurts a trader a lot so don't be a panic holder.

We do whatever we think is right and doing our best to ensure we're grabbing significant profits in the market, I know it's not going to be easy grudge to hold but we should be having good pieces of the market when it pumps. OP did take a risky step to sell all his Shib for litecoin, atleast Shib is no longer active for the huge pump moves. Shiba Inu triggered huge pumps in the market and I've come to realized how the market pumps and dumps, the exact thing happen to these altcoins and memecoins.

I used to have some Litecoin as part of my porfolio and I must say much of my experience was not as positive as I expected. In my eyes, part of my portfolio underperformed because of the inclusion of Litecoin in it.
I think we are going though times which people are more interested in smart contracts, memecoins and gambling utility coins than simple Proof of work coins likes Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Dash, in my opinion.
Even though many of those coins have much of a very standing track record and they have proven themselves not to be shady or scams, it seems people have moved onto other topics within the world of cryptocurrency.

I think LTC is in the bottom price area, its growth is not really big, it is very suitable for you to buy at this time. Meanwhile, SHIB  grew a lot in recent times, so I think the strategy of selling down SHIB to buy your LTC is quite reasonable.

In addition, you can refer to the chart LTC/BTC and LTC/ETH, the price has been at the bottom for a long time, according to technical indicators, there may be strong price fluctuations for LTC on these two pairs. However, according to my observations, the price movement of LTC is quite slow, requiring a lot of patience if you want to hold it long-term.

But, I think as long as it's a popular coin, and it's a decision you make after doing research, then maybe it could be a good thing in the future.

If for the long term I recommend BNB or ETH because the future of these two altcoins is clearly better than LTC. I mean this, for me LTC has a bright future because LTC is ranked 20th in CMC and part of the big altcoins. But even so, the future of BNB and ETH is much better because they are the most popular altcoins at the moment.

Well indeed that Litecoin is a good coin but it is depending in timing as Meme coin seems to be fast moving when there are a BS condition of market that favors meme coins , but litecoin on the other hand is slow moving currency and looking at its position now and from the movement what happened ? i believe that LTC needs long time before spending a good position in the market again because it has been in the 3rd rank in the past.

LTC is definitely better than all the shitcoins that are released these days, but at the same time just like you I think there are better options for those that are either looking for a superior short term or long tern performance, however if for some reason the OP believes they have a better chance to reach their goals by investing in LTC then that is something I can respect, even if I do not really understand how LTC could get a better performance during the upcoming bull run than ethereum.

It seems like the best days for LTC are gone. It's kinda sad, actually, it was one of the first coins I used and it still works great.

Recently I bought around 1000 dollars of litecoin (I sold 1000 dollars of my bitcoin for it) and I've already made a 20% gain. Litecoin surely is a good choice for long term. I too am accumulating Litecoin and doing some grid trading. Litecoin still hasn't climbed much on the recent bulls and there had been a lot of accumulation below $100 for this coin. Even at the moment they are below $100 which is a good price to bag some of it. When the bull arrives in Litecoin, it would easily make $200, that's a good x2 in a matter of couple of years at max. It also is one of the safest currency to invest as it doesn't have much problem and for a long time have resisted above $80.
